Let's Swing

WOW I am finally getting some stuff posted!
Here is a card that I made using one of my "The Paper Shelter" images.
I fell in love with their images when I was surfing digital sites one day.
If you haven't checked them out, you need to!
Here is a card that I made using "Spring Swing".
I hope you like it. You know how you finish a card, then look at it and think to yourself...
"Something is missing...but what?"
Well I did that with this one. I just felt like it needed something, but no clue what!
So I added a bit of wire looped into a bow and added some beads.
I used some paper from my Cordinations Black Magic pack and patterned paper from
one of my minds eye paper packs.

I want to enter this card into these challenges:

The Paper Shelter        Anything Goes
Lexi's Creations           A Card For A Child
Crafty Ribbons            Anything Goes

True Love!

I got this wonderful image from Sassy Studio Designs called "Romeo and Juliet". And I love it! I made this card for a friends anniversary (20th) using their hair color for the image! I added mini scrabble pieces and I think it is a double word score!

This is the inside that I left blank so she could write her own personal message! Hope you like it!

I am entering it in these challeges:

For Fun Challenge                Anniversary
Paper Creations Ink             Buttons or Bows
The Squirrel and The Fox     Anything Goes

Whatcha Got Cooking???

For my birthday last week the wife of our sales person made me some German chocolate cupcakes...YUMMY! So I made this card as a thank you card. I love this image..("what's cooking" by Mo Manning)...she is so adorable and works for so many occasions! Hope you like it! Hope she does too!

The papers came from one of my "Taylored Expressions" monthly kits. But for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the paper! LOL I have it at home but since I am at work....so hmm...(if I can add it to the post later I will) The flowers are some I have had forever and I just folded over the ribbon under them!

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

I Stink At Naming Blog Posts!

Here is a card that I made using some new paper from DCWV that is called Tattered Time. Now I am one of those impulse shoppers when it comes to my craft supplies....I mean how can you go wrong??? You see something and you buy it....you don't second guess your self. Right? You gals all do the same thing RIGHT? Please agree or my husband will think I have the problem! LOL Now seriously I really do shop that way...I will walk into Joann's or Micheal's and just buy what I want....there are a few times that I will walk in with a purpose but usually it is just let's see what's new.

So I walked into Joann's and saw Tattered Time and thought that this will work perfect with all of the "Steampunk" images that are fast becoming popular. I had all of these visions in my head of all the digis I had that will work. THEN I got home. Don't get me wrong I still love the papers but it seemed like I couldn't get anything to work together! So this is my first try using this paper:

I kept it pretty simple...wanting the papers to pop a bit without a lot on it. I added some buttons from my stash, colored "Ariana" from Anita Be Stamping with copics, and used star gel pen for her wings. Still not sure if I like it. Hope you do!!! HUGS!

These are the challenges I am hoping to enter:

Cute Card Thursday   Clean and simple
Delightful Challenges   Things with wings
Flutterby Wednesdays  Must include butterfly, fairy or angel
Moving Along With The Times   Fantasy

Another Day, Another Dollar...Opps I mean Card!

Hiya all you wonderful bloggers! Having a great Thursday I hope! As you can tell by my title I have another card I am using Mojo Monday Sketch #203.

Now I have to admit I was a bit stumped by this sketch...I mean most of my images are good size...I know with digital you can change it but sometimes going toooo small can alter the whole look of an image. Make sense? Then I remembered I had a few images that came from CDAC and needed to do a card with one of them!

Here is what I came up with!

I really have never used a sentiment as the
main focal point on a card but I like
how this turned out so I may try it again.
I used paper from DCWV
Hippie Chic, ribbon and rhinestones
are from my stash and the sentiment
is from TLC. (one of her freebies)
The image is was free from the
new progressive challenge going on
at CDAC by Sandi's Samples. I
colored the image with
Copics and Spica pens and used
chalk around it. Then sprayed that with
sparkle...hard to see in the picture.

I am going to enter this card in these challenges:

Little Monster's Birthday!

I made this card for my nephew Jeremy...he is my nephew; Brandon's boy. He is a little monster but absolutely adorable!

He will be 5 this year...he was only 3 in this picture! I couldn't find any of the latest pictures.

And here is the card. I used an image from Dustin Pike that I received in one of the bulk packs that ordered form him...I think it fit Jeremy perfectly!

I used Prisma Markers to color my little monster and added some white gel pen for accents.
The paper is Confetti from K & Co and the extras are from my stash!
I used the sketch from Sunday Sketch Stamp.

I am going to enter this card here:

Happy Birthday Honey!

OK today is my wonderful husband's birthday! I have to say that I am extremely lucky to have Dave in my life. This is my second marriage and in my case 2nd time was the charm! We met through work...back in 1999 and fell in love...married in 2004 and still going strong! So I made him a card...tried to keep it simple...I have such a hard time with manly cards...do yo add ribbon, bows, flowers...what do you do with a manly card! Well here's what I did:

I chose this image "Kisses" is from The Paper Shelter. I just think it is so sweet and just love it. On the inside cover I added a few sayings and then a poem on the other side. I even decorated the envelope...just didn't take a photo of it, but here is the one of the inside:

I am going to enter this card in these challenges:

KB Cute Monday   Anything Goes, using a digi

AI Factory  Anything Goes
Stamp Something Use a Digi
Make It Monday   Anything Goes

used copics, TLC, and several other sentiments, wood paper from McMahon5 and paper from K & Co, Confetti

Happy Friday!

Hey all of you beautiful people in blogland! I hope you all are having a great Friday! I feel like I am a new person! I am actually doing what I said I would the first of this year...I am posting and not just my DT cards/projects but posting cause I have stuff to show. And I am even entering some cards into some challenges. Kinda scary for me because I have never real done that before. I will go to the dentist, brave % o'clock Friday traffic, heck I have had a friends 10 foot python on my lap (not all of it at once mind you) but enter a card in a challenge...not my usual game! LOL But here I am entering a third card in 2 days!

As I posted yesterday I have been on a roll it seems. I will normally get my card idea, papers, embellies and then get my image picked and colored to match BUT lately I have been coloring my images while I am watching TV downstairs....usually have the Red Sox playing...so now I have all of these images and no place to put them! And believe you me I have been a coloring fool. I will have to take pictures and do a post of them!

Anyhoo here is the latest card....

I used Lil Victorian Evie from Tickled Pink Stamps. I was lucky enough to win a gift certificate from Regan's blog Charmed Stamping a few months ago (got one from Simon Says too) and was able to get me some of these wonderful stamps. Now I bought the digital ones but they have them in rubber too!

I colored her with Prismacolor markers and used DCWV Street Lace papers. And of course added some bling! I was playing around with adding some shadows on her dress...I may have taken it a bit too far! LOL

I am entering this card in this challenge:    http://stampingscrappingchallengecentral.blogspot.com/,

Another Card Another Challenge!

Ok I have been on a roll making, finishing and photographing cards lately. It actually feels good, having a sense of accomplishment! It seems like sometimes I will start a card following a sketch or "lifting" a design that I have seen then it will set on my table until I get in the groove and get it done. I also seemed to have gotten into the mood for Elisabeth Bell images. I absolutely love her images. I have most of her digital images and have been collecting her rubber stamps as well. I am waiting patiently for tomorrow when her new "Peekers" set comes out.

I kept this card pretty simple. Wanting the image to really stand out. This is the second card I made with "Little Best Friends". The first one was a card for my sisters b-day. And I colored us looking like we did when we were kids..but this card with the blue papers I decided to make then little blondies!
Above of course is a close up and right next door is the inside. I am sure some of you are asking yourself "What in the heck is that next to the card???" Well that is a "Wally" He is kicking back in has favorite adirondack chair waiting for the Sox to play! LOL

Hope you are doing great today! HUGS!

I entered this card in the For Fun Challenge and Digistamps4joy

Finally Entered A Challenge

Wow...I have made a card and found a challenge that it fits! I made this card using Rachel, Little Angel by Elisabeth Bell and her digital line. I just thought she was so cute so I kept the card pretty simple.

I hinged the card to do something different.

I used copics to color and embossed her wings to make them stand out a bit more!

Here is the inside of the card. I tried to make enough room for writing, I have been told that I don't always leave enough room on the non-specific cards! Gotta love that husband of mine!

I have entered this card in the Copic Color Challenge at Outlaws!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! HUGS!!

You're Gonna Be Charmed!

Crafty Catz is having a charm of a challenge and Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring! With their new images it is most definitely worth it to enter this one! All you have to add is a charm. So easy! Here is my take on it:

The picture does not do the charms justice so here is a close up:

I went with the perfume bottle and heart for a girly, soft feel to match Lingerie Lindsay. Hope you like it!

One Stop Craft Challenge!

There is a new challenge happening at One Stop Challenge that Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring! The theme of this one is stickers! When I read this I thought no problem I have soooo many stickers. BUT I have to admit this was a bit challenging. Everything I found just wouldn't work right or match the way I wanted it to UNTIL I remembered I had some sticker sheets in some folders, in a bin! So here is my card:

The stickers I used are the buttons and "celebrate" word strip.

 I added dimension
glaze to the bubble!

I tried to take a picture of the
stickers...didn't come out that great.

Hope you like it. And don't forget to check out the challenge as well as SSD. Lots of new images!

CDAC Challenge!

Guylou's Inimitability is sponsoring the Other Themed Challenge called The Three B Girly Girl Recipe Challenge at CDAC. So go check it out...there is an adorable freebie that happens to have found it's way onto my card! This is a recipe challenge so you have a few things that need to be added to your project! You gotta have bows, buttons and bling! Here is my card:

I hand stamped the background, colored her with copics and added silver for the sparkler! I wasn't sure how that would come out but it seems to work!

Sweet Summertime Challenge!

Whew, is it hot outside or what??? It hit 103* here today and when you are already feeling the heat at 8 am, it always makes me want to go home and eat some ice cold watermelon! Yum...I may just do that today! Talking about watermelon brings me to our next challenge at Guylou's Inimitability! Our host this week is Gina! She is one heck of an amazing woman with mad coloring skills...and if you don't believe me, just check out her blog! Miss Gina felt we needed to show our sweet side and make a summer themed project that MUST include not only the word "SWEET" on the front of the card but must also have a summertime theme, i.e. watermelon, ice cream, popsicles, (making myself hungry) flip flops, bathing suit, beach, sand, you get the drift right?

Here is my take on it....

I used Chuck Eating A Watermelon, made my own watermelons, and those black things are little ants! I really like this image, Chuck is so cute! Make sure you check out all the design teams creations. All the wonderfully talented women are listed on my side bar! My sweet sentiment came from our very own Tracy S. Thank gosh she is around to come up with some "sweet" sayings! Thank you Tracy!

Now make sure you follow the theme...."SWEET" and summertime things....and follow the guidelines as well! Check them out here. What would a challenge be without a prize. The winner will be awarded a $5 gift certificate from Guylou's Inimitability Store and will also be invited to be a Guest Designer on an upcoming challenge.

You will have until June 30th, 10:00 pm (EST or click here to find out the corresponding time where you are) to enter your cards or projects here. Be sure to add the link to your entry and not your whole blog as this makes it much easier on the team to find your creations. Thanks for participating!

April Showers

It's raining, It's pouring,
the old man is snoring.
He went to bed, bumped his head
and couldn't get up in the morning!

Guylou’s Inimitability has a challenge starting today and going on until April 21st. Now this is going to be  fun and different! And like with any challenge you need to follow the guide lines. And the main guideline to this challenge is: you have to incorporate an umbrella into your card or project. See fun and different! Told ya!
Do you have an umbrella? Is it a small compact one that you can keep just about anywhere? Or is it one of those long black ones that you always see the heroine in a movie carrying? Do you have an umbrella stand? I have one umbrella; a compact one with roses on it. It came with a bag that I got from one of those book deals. You know the ones you have to order so many per month? Well I got the bag and umbrella for free for signing up. Oh, and we have no stand, just a coat rack. You would think growing up in Florida that I had several, but believe it or not I did not. No wellies or rubber boots either. Kinda funny when you think about it.
Anyway back to the challenge…we got to play around with Ben. Now Ben is a cute and curious little boy that like any kid likes to play in the rain! I still like to jump in puddles myself…with the right shoes of course! Here is the card that I made using Ben:

I used:
My Minds Eye...Stella and Rose ~ Hattie
Dimensional Glaze for the drops and the puddle
Copics:
Sidewalk: N4, N3, N2, N1 Puddle: B23, B32, B0000, B21 Sky: B93, C3, C1
Skin: E00 Hair: E13 Slicker, Boots & Hat: Y18, Y15 Pants: E55 Shirt: B95, B45

You need to check out all of the design team blogs and of course check out our guest designers blog as well. To make it easier for you here are their links. BrendaCarmen, Gina, Guylou, Tracy, Trina and our guest designer Crystal. And I want to welcome our newest design team member....Sara...check out her blog here.
Don’t forget to follow the challenge policy; which you can find on Guylou’s Blog. You can win free digis if you follow all of the rules and use a Guylou image. What is that? You say you don’t have one? Well get to her store right away or check out her group on CDAC. Can I just say FREEBIE! Can’t wait to see your projects!

Do You Know A Lovely Lady?

Crazy Challenge is having a challenge starting today that Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring! And all you need to do is enter a card or project on their site for a lovely lady and keep your fingers crossed! LOL

I decided I wanted to do something I had never tried before and I came across a diorama crad in one of my books and viola...here it is:
I still think it needs a little more but with the way I have it it is hard to add anything! Next one I won't glue untill I know I have all I want. I know I am never satified!

I used Little Honey-Cupcake Honey and then
added stickers from my stash of all things.  I
really wanted her to stand out so I kept the
background simple.

I colored her with copics.

Skin: E00, E51, E02
Cheeks: R20
Eyes: B04
Hair: E35, E33, E31, Y21, Y23, Y11
Dress: R59, R46, R35, R32
Cupcake: E59, E57
Candle: B26, B28
Flame: R35, Y08, Y13
Icing: Y13, Y18

Here is a side view of the card. The template I had was smaller than I wanted so I used a 5x7 inch card and hand drew and cut the arch and the slit that the arch slides into. Then glued Cupcake Honey as well as the present and candle stickers. Hope you like it!

For A Special Lady

Sassy Dtudios Designs is sponsoring a challenge for All Sorts Challenge. You need to make a project or card for A Special Lady! I made a card for my sister. To be honest my sister is my best friend, besides my husband of course! Even though we live a few thousand mile apart she is who I think of first to talk to. She has been there for me over the years...well, after we grew up a bit...and was my maid of honor in both of my weddings! OK I am babbling...can you babble when you're typing?

Anyway check out the challenge and the rules here.

I decided to use "Mulan" from Sassy's newest release. I think she is perfect for my Special Lady card. Just look at the soft and sweet look in her face! Perfect for this card.
Here is the card I made:

I colored her with copics and used TC Blossomwood by K & Co. for my papers. The strip in the center I cut out with a border punch from Martha Stewart. For the flowers I felt I wanted a color that would match Mulan's shirt, so I colored on a small strip and punched out some flowers from another Martha Stewart punch. I stacked, glued and then added a small sead bead in the center.

Copics I Used
Skin:  Eoo, E000, E0000
Hair:  C9, C6, C4, C3
Clothes:  R31, R59, R46, R29 R0000 & T0 all over  E40 w/ T0 all over on shirt
Eyes:  YG06
Cheeks: R20

Hope you liked it. Here are some close ups.

A Celebration Challenge

There is a challenge starting today at Dutch Dare that Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring. Besides following the guidelines that Dutch Dare has you need to submit a card or project that is celebrating something! Now when I hear the word celebrate or celebration I can hear:

Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)
Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)

There's a party goin' on right here
A celebration to last throughout the years
So bring your good times, and your laughter too
We gonna celebrate your party with you

Ok enough of my voice!
And back to the challenge. I thought of (after the singing) the Sassy "Martini Pin Up" image. It just screams celebration! And with my best friend's 40th birthday coming up it is perfect. Don't you agree?

I used lime green and black paper from my stash, added some silver brads and border to have some bling.
Copics:
Skin: E00, E81 Cheeks: R20 Hair: T7, N6, C2 Clothes & Olives: YG23, YG01, YG0000 Shoes: T5, T7 Shadows: C0, C3 Pantyhose: shimmer & pewter spritz Smooch pearl all over dress Dimensional Glaze on the glass

Now I must add don't forget to follow all of the guidelines that Dutch Dare has set and you could win a prize! Check it out here.

No Squares Here!

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring a Creative Inspirations challenge this week. And as the title suggests it is to make a project that is not a square! Now me being the person I am I took the no square to heart and decided to go all hippie!
I used the "Hippie Chic" image from SSD and then decided to add Hippie Chic paper from DCWV. I felt like the card needed a bit of pizazz so I added the shear sparkly ribbon on the side. Then needed some sort of sentiment and in my stash of digis I found this "Live, laugh, Love" tag and felt that it was perfect. I hope you like it.

I used copic markers to color my hippie and touched up her flowers with twinkletts. And used pop up foam dots to make her pop off the page.
Hair: YR21, E99, E33 Skin: E13, E11 Cheeks: E02 Lips: E04 Shirt: E15, E17 Jeans: B93, B95 B97 Twinkletts: Pink, Sky Blue, Blossom, Orange
Here are some close ups:

Don't forget to follow the rules; check them out here! Have FUN!

I See Dots

I see dots. Do you?
Well you should! This next challenge from GI is all about dots. The design team got to use the kitty with fish digi. It is so cute. You can just see that darn cat is thinking:  how can I get to one of these fish!
I wanted to keep the card simple and the colors a little more subdued because I wanted the goldfish to pop off the page. I ended up printing the image 3 times and layered them to make it stand off the page a bit.  Ok I feel like I am writing in circles. ARRRRRG Anyway here is my card:

I used:
Cat: T1, T2, T3, T4, T0 for blending on the last cat layer I colored it C2, C3, C4, C6 C0 for blending    Bowl: C2, BG15   Goldfish: Orange Peel & black Diamond Stickles   Paper: Daisy Dear by Heidi Grace (both dotted papers) Cocoa Mint by Cloud 9 Designs (brown)

charm from Oriental Trading
bead from my mom's stash!

Now you know the routine...enter any new card or project and link to Guylou's Inimitability, make sure it has dots somewhere on it, and follow the rules posted on the left side of GI's blog. You can win images by using one of Guylou's images. If you don't have one you can get one from her store or by getting a freebie from her group on CDAC. Make sure you check out all of the Design Team's projects and our guest designer Sara Iadanza. Have fun, I can't wait to see what you come up with!
You have until the 31st to get your project entered and posted at the Challenge Blog.
