USB Face

When I was a kid I used to always see images of faces in my surroundings. The closest term I have found to describe this phenomenon is pareidolia. It doesn't happen to me as much as it used to, but every once in a while I'll see one.

Tim has a nifty little set of photos on his photography page of everyday objects that appear to have faces.

Today I happened to glimpse the USB end of my iPod connector cable and saw a face looking at me.

So here it is. For some reason, I think the cable looks very pleased with itself -- maybe because it's proud of the bitchin' pitchfork t-shirt it's sporting.

A bowling alley a couple miles from my house, the Broadview Bowl, closed back in 2007.

Recently, the "CLOSED" message on its marquee lost a letter.

What's left on the sign is bad English that is somehow still appropriate, and which carries a strange sense of melancholy.
