Video

Here is a video of him at 20 hours old. Check out his rooster tail. You can see it well on the video. That little piece of hair wants to stick straight up.

More pictures of our little man

September 18, 2010 2:00 p.m.

We had Grandma and Grandpa Tew stop by last night and meet him for the first time, along with Anna and Ryan.

Anna wasn't quite sure what to think of that little person, but we think she is starting to put two and two together about baby brother.

First updated family picture.
Anna loves her mommy.

She had more fun playing with Mommy. She played "This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home..." with Brittany's toes and had a great time.

Grandma happy to meet him.
Ryan was reluctant to hold him, because he thought the baby was too fragile, but we assured him that he was actually pretty tough considering what he had just been through. He loves being an uncle.

Everyone went home for the night and mom and baby got some rest.

Today

His little face is less swollen today and we are starting to get a glimpse of what he might look like. He reminds us a lot of what Anna looked like when she was a baby, yet he has his own unique twist of the gene pool. He is precious.

I still haven't seen his eyes yet.
He has long fingers and toes.

His hair looks about the same color as Anna's did when she was born.

We are still working on the name, but they won't let us out of here until we get that resolved, so the pressure is on. We'll figure it out.

He's Here! Introducing Baby Tew

September 17, 2010

Brittany must have had a premonition that the baby was coming, because late last night she asked that I take a 9 month pregnancy picture. I thought that was funny because earlier yesterday I had the same thought.

Brittany woke up and within minutes of standing up, her body decided it wanted to have the baby today.

We went in to her scheduled OB appointment, and they told us to go to the hospital to have the baby.

September 17, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. our baby boy was born.

He is Anna's big "little brother."

He weighs 8 lbs. 14.5 oz. That's a pretty big boy for being 10 days early.

He is 21.25" long.

Both he and Brittany are doing well.

We are 99.9% on the name, but we'll let you know what we decide.

Enjoy the pictures.

Still Waiting

9/17/10
12:55 p.m.

Brittany is doing REALLY well now that she has the epidural going. If she hasn't told you yet, she'll probably mention that she is the world's biggest proponent of the epidural.
Contractions were pretty regular. They just started a pitocin drip, Doctor predicts a baby within the next couple of hours. Can't wait!

We're Having a Baby!

9/17/10 9:35 a.m.

Ding Ding! Round Two.
Britt woke up with contractions that came on fast and hard. We were admitted to the hospital around 9:00 a.m. and we are waiting for that baby boy to get here. I'll keep you posted as things progress and pictures are sure to follow.

Happy 4th Anniversary

We celebrated 4 wonderful years together on June 8. I can always count on Brad to plan a wonderful anniversary celebration. This year we started with a 4 wheeling day trip, one of my favorite outdoor activities. Then we headed up Leavenworth WA, a town set up like little Germany for a romantic getaway. It was our first time leaving Anna overnight, what a treat. We had delicious schnitzel for dinner, watched movies, and enjoyed browsing the little shops. Thanks sweetie for a wonderful celebration and an even more incredible 4 years.

It's A Boy

Well, for some of you this may be a new announcement, and for others old news. I haven't been on top of blogging lately, I want to do things in order, but I am just going to put this out there for everyone who I have not yet told.

We're having a baby...and it's a boy. He is Due Sept 27, making me 25 weeks along.

Okay this is the part where some of you say why didn't you tell me, or post this until now. Our lives have been flipped upside down and the dust is just finally starting to settle now. In the past couple months we have...

  • put our house on the market and sold it
  • got Brad through the end of dental school and board exams
  • had company out to celebrate Brad's graduation
  • packed up our house
  • visited family in Utah
  • moved to Washington state
  • celebrated our 4th anniversary,
  • and went to a family reunion in Idaho.
  • oh... and don't forget we chase Anna around and keep her happy during most of the day.
To top it all off, I have been really tired during this pregnancy, so when Anna goes down for a nap I do too. Such a different experience from having a first child. Every tiny development in my first pregnancy was documented, and observed. This time I have only been to the doctor once, because I had to apply for insurance, moved and then reapplied for insurance. But the little guy inside me is moving and wiggling around all the time which is a good sign that everything is going well.

Sorry this info didn't get to some of you sooner, but we love all of you and hope you are doing well.
