Disneyland - again!!

Okay, I know I don't have to post about every time we go. Maybe I'll just mention it in passing next time. But we just have so much fun! Jeremy bet me I couldn't write about Disneyland without posting more than 10 pictures. So just to prove him wrong... here are my favorite six. :)

Something Different

We happened to see a balloon "festival" mentioned in the our little southwest paper and thought that would be cool. We were pretty wiped out from Disneyland but made it to the balloon glow. Pretty neat.
Yes, they're in winter coats and it's probably only 60 degrees... but this is Vegas people.

November Outing

Red Rock is one of our favorite places to go.

Hanging out in the comfortable "Daddy cave."

We usualy hike/climb to "wave rock." It's a cool rock and we've never seen anyone else remotely close to it. It's like our own Red Rock secret. If you come to visit we can take you there sometime... blind-folded of course. :)

See, there are pretty places in Nevada. :)

Sewing projects

These are two of my recent ones. I only have about 10 more I want to do that are waiting for me in the sewing/guest/playroom.
I like how this one turned out.
I read an article a while ago that basically said no one knows geography anymore. I immediately resolved that my children would not fall into that category. Naturally, the best way to begin teaching geography is with a quilt...

Yep, I'm a weirdo. And I'm surprisingly okay with that.

Not a great quilting job but it's fun AND educational. :)

Bragging Rights

I just have to let everyone know (yet again) how AWESOME and brilliant Jeremy is. He just found out that he passed part II of the CHP test!!! So he is officially a Certified Health Physicist!!! CONGRATULATIONS Jeremy!!! I'm so proud of you!

I Have a Problem...

Perhaps by acknowledging my problem I can overcome it... I am a binge blogger. There, it's said. Life just keeps happening and I just let the memories fill up to overflowing before I write them down. I can always try to be better, but for now, here's the lastest binge of the last two months.

We went to see my brother Stephen in "Treasure Island" as Long John Silver. He was an excellent one-legged villian. :) Isis was a little concerned he only had one leg (perhaps because I told her Stephen had to cut it off for the play...) but was happy after he showed her it was still there. :)

The before picture. Isis and her friend Ashley started spinning. Isis kept spinning and spinning and shouting "this is so much fun!!" Ashley was leaning her head back looking a little sick. I think Isis has had a little too much experience on the Tea Cups at Disneyland.

Disneyland!!!

We can't let those year passes go to waste so off we went to Disneyland last month.
The carousels are still their favorite ride.

We had an extra Disneyland treat when we got to meet up with our friends Jason & Many Hafen and family. Isis was excited to share her Disneyland excitement with Kimball. :)

No visit is complete without Mickey Mouse ice cream.

You may be tempted, dear friends, to believe this sharing with Mommy is what provoked the following Elise episode.

You would be wrong.

Elise did NOT like the chocolate on her hands and wanted me to wipe them off. So I tried and that made her mad. Then she was mad because her hands were STILL dirty. I tried taking the ice cream to clean her hands. She wanted none of that. In trying to stay in possession of the ice cream she ended up flinging it off the stick. That might have been the breaking point...

Then she got mad because I took a picture of her crying and screaming, so she scooted farther away down the curb.

If I moved as if to go and get her she went into more ballistic screaming. She had moved far enough down that more than a couple people worriedly looked for her neglectful parents. I'd send a little wave of reassurance that I was actually watching my kid have her melt down. This was such a glorious tantrum that complete strangers were taking pictures of her. One man justified his teenage group, "My Japanese students can't get enough of cute American babies." Hmm... screaming ones are cute?

When she didn't calm down it was time to take strap her in the stroller. No, she is not "planking." This is leaving her on the ground after she did the "limp noodle" almost slipping completely out of my arms.

It was obvious we needed to bring the stroller to her.

Turns out she was just tired. Imagine that.

The rest of the trip? Nothing so dramatic.
