man this girl is crazy.
i was looking forward to finally having a regular scheduled day.
i was on my way out the door to piano when my phone rang, i was locking my door so i nearly didn't even get it, but i decided to look and it was the school.
JD was on the other line sobbing. "mom, i hurt my arm". bad news! and of course it was the same elbow as last time. so i quickly went to the school, knowing that it was not good. took one look at the girl and man, she had landed on the EXACT SAME SPOT as last time. how on earth does that happen?
ran little B over to SIL's, who so kindly spend 5 long hours with her, THANK YOU, and ran around the county, once again, like a chicken with my head cut off. this is sounding all too familiar.
had the xrays, tech wouldn't tell me diddly, i know i know, they're not supposed to, but their system ended up crashing so no one could even look at the xrays to tell us where to go next. so we had to go all the way home until we heard, and she was totally unprotected.
finally got the call to come in, CJ went to our amazing friends house, another huge thanks, and SIL kept B.
the xrays were CRAZY! she had split the exact same fracture only it wasn't just a fracture, it was a split. they said about 2.7 mm. i guess that's big. it looked huge on the xray.
got her in a soft cast, waiting word if they'd need to actually pin it back together.
but man, look at this smile. JD is the biggest trooper i know. i had to force her to take motrin just so I'D feel better. and she was already planning what color she wanted for her cast. she only had the neon green on for 3 days last time and she wanted to give it a go again.
so after a day of waiting to hear back about surgery, we luckily got the GOOD NEWS that they'd just cast it and see. she's got health and age on her side, for now anyway. 4 weeks and we'll see how it goes.
** oh in all of that i didn't even tell you how she did it.
HOOLA HOOP
um yeah. i can't even really explain that. just a simple fall on a sensitive spot.
doctor's prescription: bubble wrap. hilarious. if only i could!
D's most bummed about not being able to play basketball, she was just getting into it and loving it.
piano festival is also coming up, which she's not so bummed about, but the rest of us are! she's still able to play with the cast, so we're just gonna go on like she's fine. maybe they'll give her a superior for sympathy!
either way, i'm amazed at this girl and her tolerance for pain.
she's still goofy as all get out.
love her!
gt out
