a good day.

it's been a good day. a day where we're tired because we got things done. evie had two birthday parties to go to, so allyson and i got to spend time running needed errands together. at home depot and lowes, we day dreamed about what we want to do with the yard once we have money again. we even got to costco early and had free reign on the samples. they had different flavored popcorn and we tried every flavor shamelessly without remotely pretending that we would buy any; we did ask how long they would be at our costco to see if we needed to come back for more samples next week. they're leaving tomorrow, so i contemplated seconds. i passed and am living with the regret now. we are also having our basement finished and the sheetrock finished going up today. looks awesome. we'll post pics when it is complete. and if that's not enough for you, our secondary water was turned back on today and i tested all the sprinklers we had put in last summer and none of them froze/burst this winter.

oh, and it was 76 degrees. it's been a good day.

Easter Festivities

Dyeing Eggs the day before Easter

Displaying our colorful eggs in what we found on Easter morning...3 inches of snow!--ugh. Luckily all the egg hunts were done in advance!

Preparing for Dinner
We went with a non-traditional Easter dinner and Greg grilled chicken and steak kabobs. They were so good. We don't make Ham and potatoes very often, so we didn't want to risk butchering dinner for everyone :)

My aunt was in town from California visitng 2 of her daughters at BYU, so they were able to join us for dinner. My aunt brought along these ears and Evie was so excited to have picture with the "big girls". Evie's dressy Easter outfit...
And as always, the beautiful hair to go with it...

Bye Bye Preschool

Evie's preschool teacher sold her house more quickly than she thought they would and they had to cut preschool short. These are pics of their "See ya later alligator" program and party.
Her cute teacher made this darling alligator cake and it tasted as good as it looked.

We'll miss you Mrs. Harper!

Girl's Best Friend

I know we've mentioned it before, but Truman really is Evie's best friend; in fact he's the closest thing Evie has to a sibling. I used to get irritated when people would refer to Truman as her "brother" because I want nothing more than for her to have a real brother (or sister); but she really does love him...and he loves her too!

Visit from Grandma

My mom-"Grandma Cami"-came for her annual spring visit and, as always, we had such a fun time. I never remember to take pictures, though, so this was one last playdough hurrah before we took her to the airport. Evie usually cries for days after she leaves and it is very dramatic and drawn out. But this time, my mom decided to hide sticky notes for her all over the house, so she could look forward to something. It worked like a charm! She just barely found the 15th and final note a whole month later. She has them all stuck to the side of her dresser and loves to show them off. Thanks Mom!
You can see where Evie gets her blonde hair and blue eyes! Greg's mom also has blonde hair and blue eyes, so we can thank the Grandma's for our beautiful girl :).
