Easter Dresses and Swim Lessons

Sue sent the girls these super cute Easter dresses, and since we won't be at church on Sunday we had them wear them this past Sunday. I tried really hard to get a picture of them, but this is what I got out of them.

This is the closest I could get of decent picture. Alice wasn't allowing me to take one of her.
At our local community center they received a grant for swim lessons which means a week of free swim lessons for the girls. Since I am pretty sure my children are half fish, (which is scary since Alice is other half monkey) I signed them up right away. They loved the first night. They line up all the teachers and then call out there names. Well Reagan's teacher is a Latino guy named Peru. Alice was already done with hers so we were just watching Reagan. We walked over and and Alice pointed at her teacher and said, "I want to go with Diego." I died laughing! Good thing he didn't hear. In her defense, he did kind of look like an older Diego!

It's Spring Time

How do you know it's spring time? Easter Egg Hunts and Garden Time! We had a church Easter Egg hunt today. I was really excited for the girls. It was a beautiful day out; it was super bright so the pictures weren't the best. They started with the nursery age kids, so Alice went first. Alice was super cute. She ran out there and started getting eggs right away. She would get one and say I gotta it! Then it was the primary kids turn (3-12 years old). I had told Reagan that she was going with the bigger kids this time so she would need to fast. She said she wanted us to come with her and seemed a little nervous. Well she went out there and almost started to cry. Is it mean I thought it was kind of funny?!?! She gets a little shy at the most randomest times, because we all know Reagan isn't a very shy girl. Here is some of Alice hunting. I tried to get a good video of Alice but she is so fast! Oh and it was a little cooler than we thought- Alice has on Reagan's sweater!
Before the hunt (we have given up trying to Alice's hair)

Here are some of Reagan's, notice the first couple pictures and video of Reagan's face!
This was the best picture I could get of them with their loot!
When we got home we planted our garden. Reagan was really excited about it and asked if we could eat the vegetables we were planting for lunch. I told her they wouldn't be ready that soon. Hopefully something will grow out of it. I am so excited for it!

Birkenstocks

As some of you may know Reagan has a problem with her feet. They are always hurting her. She is in tears almost daily over how her feet hurt. The doctor told me that she has really high arches and that she needed to wear sandals that have good support. Not just Old Navy flip-flops. So after the research we found that Birkenstocks have the best arch support for kids. Well I did not want to pay 50-80 dollars for a pair of sandals for Reagan. I looked and looked but they were all too expensive. But I thought what other choice do I have. I feel so bad for her when she complains about her feet because I know it is really bothering her. Well today I went to a big consignment sale and lo and behold I could not believe my eyes but they had a pair of Birks in her size for 5.00!!!! I was so excited. Now you may be wondering why I am writing a post about this. Well they are bright orange with flowers. They aren't the worst looking thing in the world, but she really needs to wear them all the time. So if you see her with them on with a nice dress that is why! Here is a picture of what they kind of look like, for those of you who see her in them!!! I still can't believe I found some for 5 bucks!

Advice

DSCF1650.JPG by Klanook.
I should have put a picture of complete darkness, because that is the time Reagan has been getting up in the morning. She has been getting up between 5:30 and 6:15 every morning for the past 3 weeks. Now I wouldn't care so much if she could handle it but by about 9ish she is laying on the ground about to fall asleep, and being super cranky. I have tried black out curtains, they didn't work, and I have now moved her nap time down to 1 and then she gets up about 3, 3:30 and goes to bed at 7:30, so she will get enough sleep. I tried putting her to bed later, she still gets up early. How do you make your kid sleep in? I will even take 6:30 at this point. Oh yeah we tried a clock in her room, didn't work either. Any advice is appreciated!
Sincerely,
A Mother who is about to go crazy with her sleep deprived child
