Mayor Rodrigo Duterte VS the Church

Last Sundays’ "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" viewed only in Davao ABS-CBN. Its’ about the issue of the allegation of Father Lamata towards Mayor Rodrigo Duterte about Mayor Duterte as a killer that made him angry that leads to, definitely destroy the credibility of the priest and of the Catholic Church. Well as I see it the Church should stick to their responsibilities in the society as our Government here in Davao does, by telling the good words of God, these values, by reminding the people how to be good not what the government have done to our society, like last Saturdays homily of the Priest it seems like he is provoking the people to fight against the government, to take a rally or what, is he not suppose to tell us to be good instead to be right, because that’s what God wants us to be, to be good children. We have different roles to perform in this world Even Jesus Christ says to the People that “what is for Cesar is for Cesar and what is for the God is for the God.” it shows that God wants as to perform accordingly.

If they are true that Mayor Duterte is a killer then I will thank him for because almost all that was being killed were hoodlums and I believe that the people who are innocent will fight for it and our government here in Davao will support them, but it doesn’t mean that killing a person is good, of course not, it is like the movie Constantine if you have seen it you will understand what I mean. Well I would still say that Davao is still a livable and peaceful city compared to other places.

Either way, as they all say nobody is perfect but trough these experiences that we have there is always a lesson to be learned and there is always a cup of tea or coffee to talk it over. Watch this Sunday morning not sure of the schedule if it is 9 or 11 in the morning for the update of the issue.

5 Years in All Courses?

Starting school year 2009-2010 courses are now 5 years to take that’s what CHED said. The courses are accountancy, architecture, education, nursing, engineering, occupational therapy, physical therapy and pharmacy. In an interview, Angeles said the program is part of the overall effort to transform the Philippine educational system into one that conforms to global standards. I don’t think this is necessary because most courses like me an engineering graduate have subjects before that does not really relevant to my course and it is already a 5 year course. If they are thinking about the competitiveness in the labor market I suggest they should study each courses first, weight things, what are relevant subjects and the trainings the students need after they graduate. CHED should also see to it that the schools are capable to do these requirements and had enough facilities to accommodate all the students.

One thing also, as we all know we are experiencing a global crisis as they say, some couldn’t anymore afford to go to school so how much more now that it is a five year course already, unless the government will provide part time jobs for the students.

Well I agree to this only if the curriculum is reasonable and that could really benefit the new generation today. Lucky if you are born rich, they can go to any prestigious school they want but either way it will always still up to the students how he or she wants his life to be.

Tax per Text for a Cause?

House Speaker Congressman Prospero Nograles pass a bill that there will be 20 cents tax per text for health and education.

Is this for real? The government doesn’t have enough funds already to support health and education? Where are the taxes from the oil companies and different establishment goes? In fact every single Filipino are paying taxes in everything that can be bought, clothes, shoes, food and etc, even fare. And how many people in the Philippines don’t need those things?

If the enrollment fees and the hospital bills are free then I go for 20 CENTS TAX PER TEXT.

War in Mindanao?

The war in Mindanao was just one of the political tactics to pursue Charter Change (CHA CHA) in the Philippines?

In Para Sa Masa seen in ABC-CBN Davao, every Sunday 9:30AM Mayor Rodrigo Dueterte tells about the negotiation of MOA (Memorandum of Agreement) failed. So to stop the incident which is the war, to be in control of the problem or situation the solution is to amend the constitution which will result to extend the terms of the government officials that Mayor Dueterte disagree of.

I believe of Mayor Dueterte says that amending the constitution at this very moment is not the perfect time, if their intentions are good they have to wait for 2010 because there are more important things to do and better ways to solve the economic crisis of the Philippines. And about the war in Mindanao logically who give the MILF people some guns to fight against the military? Why at this time, that the problem of rice shortage and oil is not that big deal anymore? Because that problem is not strong enough reason to amend the constitution and so they let the MILF and the militaries fight to get sympathy from all of us? If it is so how pitiful those lowest ranking officer of the MILF the militaries and the civilians who were involve, they were just used as pawns.

Now is CHA CHA really the solution to solve the problem? What do you think?
