Running Behind...WAY Behind
One of the kids (ours too) favorite place to go around Halloween is Pigeon Roost Farms. They had a lot of new stuff this year...but some of our favorites (old and new) are the slides, feeding the goats, the duck chase, the corn maze and so much more!
I should have this picture blown up and focused in on Emilee. For anything that she does that requires concentration she has her tongue sticking out.
Last year Emilee was still "little" and wouldn't go through this maze. Its dark throughout the whole thing (except for this small window towards the end) and you are crawling...so she got scared. This year she went in first and Caleb followed her.
This fun "corn-box" is also a favorite. It can get a little dangerous as they stand up...(notice the girl in pink who happened to fall as I took this picture, ha!)
This actually is a KID favorite - - not a Mom favorite. While, yes, it may be fun to play in...it is NOT fun picking off all of the pieces of straw that are clinging to their clothes & hair!Wednesday, September 15, 2010

A Day of Firsts

He did start soccer this Fall though and he is having SO MUCH FUN!!! Gene is happy to see him playing soccer over baseball (Gene is not a fan of baseball). Today (9/11/10) was his first game & for only having one practice he did really well. I have to admit, he is good at baseball but soccer comes natural to him. He even scored his first goal today!!! I teared up a little bit after he scored b/c the look on his face was one of PURE JOY!!!! I will never for get it...

A little of this, A little of that
A month ago (yes, I'm that lame when it comes to blogging) the kids, myself, and Brenda went and stayed at Gene's Uncle and Aunts house while they were on vacation. It was a nice "get away" and the kids had a great time. Their favorite part was playing with Max. My kids want a dog SO BAD and I just simply refuse...
I got one of the WORST blisters I have ever had in my life this last weekend. I went on a walk/run Sat night and I could tell that my sock wasn't on quite right but I was not in the mood to stop and fix it...and now I am paying for it with this!!! OUCH...

Synopsis of Hunger Games:
Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Kat's sister is chosen by lottery, Kat steps up to go in her place.
Synopsis of Catching Fire:
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
Synopsis of Mockingjay:
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

The Tooth Fairy Is a BOY Mom...

Caleb has now lost three teeth! The first tooth was his bottom left, then the bottom right, and then his top left. All within one week! He lost his first tooth at church. I went to pick him up from his primary class and Caleb, very calm and chilled, simply stated, "I lost my tooth, Mom." I looked down and it was gone! I was really excited for him and asked him where it was and he said he had no idea! I asked him if he swallowed it...and NO, he just dropped it and didn't know where it went. So we went into primary to ask his teacher if he knew that Caleb had lost his tooth and I couldn't help but laugh at his teachers response. "Oh, I didn't even know he lost his tooth. I saw the blood on his shirt and wondered where it came from." HAHAHA! Such a typical male. (We ended up finding it on the floor)
Then the very next day Caleb pulled out his other bottom tooth while at school, and lost that one as well! So that night he wrote a note to the tooth fairy...it was cute!
Then his 3rd tooth he pulled out the following Monday at some point. He was just sitting in his Grandma's room one second and the next thing I know he's telling me he's pulled out another tooth. When I asked Grandma about it she said she was sitting right there and Caleb never made a sound. OH, and he lost that one too!!! So he wrote another note, went to bed...and the next morning Caleb came in crying because the tooth fairy didn't come to his house! CRAP!!! Bad Mom!!! I forgot...Luckily, I ran and got some money and threw it behind his pillow and shoved it between the wall and the day was saved! He must have pushed it up there while he was sleeping!
