Our sweet little girl a couple hours old. We love her and cant wait for her to come home. we of course think shes perfect. she has dark hair like paige did but its not quite as long on top. she has her own little look. shes a good baby and a little fighter.
Easter afternoon she started breathing harder and working hard to get the air she needed. She didn't get better so Monday they decided to air-vac her to Tucson to get evaluated by NICU doctors. She had to fly by herself and they say she did a good job. It was hard on me though. Hard to let her leave me and trust the people to take good care of her. The flight was 40 minutes and our drive was 2 hours. My parents were nice and met the Claire at the hospital and stayed there till we got there.
She is a good little eater and sleeper. Feeding is our favorite part of the day because thats when we get to hold her.
This is her little bed in the NICU. She is still working harder then she should to breath. They think she just didn't get all fluid squeezed out and suctioned out when she was born. They have suctioned her a few times which has helped but they can't deep suction her to many times because it increases swelling. she is receiving oxygen through a nasal cnnula and humidified air through a tube under the hood (or clear box over her head.)
Once we can get her off the oxygen for a total of 24 hours we get to take her home. They have tried to decrease it but she hasnt tolerated it yet. She isn't on much oxygen. She's on 1 leader @ 26%.
Paige was so excited to meet her new little sister. She got to meet her when she was 4 days old. My mom came to safford for Claire's delivery Saturday and then took her to Sierra Vista for Easter. As things worked out she has stayed there since. She's had a great time there playing with her cousins. We miss her and can't wait till we can be all together. Paige is going to be a wonderful big sister.

Oh my gosh. She is beautiful. She is already pretty, and it usually takes newborns a while to get cute, I think anyway. I LOVE IT. Keep us posted and we'll keep praying for you and for her little lungs! Love you guys!
Sounds like you are experiencing almost exactly what we did 7 weeks ago! It is so hard not to be able to bring your baby home and have all your family together. We'll keep praying for you guys and hopefully we'll hear that you are all home and healthy soon!
Oh, she is such a cutie. I just heard today that she had been flown to Tucson. I hope that she gets to come home soon. Please keep us posted. Sheesh, it took you so much just to get her here and now this? I am so sorry. You guys are amazing. I hope you all get to be together soon.
Oh, Amanda, she is a little cutie! I can't believe her and Megan were the exact same size (just off by 1/2 inch)! Soul sisters from the start! :) We still have you in our thoughts and prayers and hope Claire can return home to you soon. Love you guys!!

She is so cute!! I loved holding her! Every second of it. I can't wait to come see her again. Hopefully the next time u will be in Thatcher. We sure love you guys and keep u in our prayers.
Ps we have really enjoyed having paige around. She is such a good girl.

Amanda, Claire is adorable! I love all of her dark hair! You have come so far, and you are doing awesome! You are such a trooper! Having a baby in the NICU is tough. Our boys were in there for a month. In no time she'll be able to go home. It seems like that day is forever away, but it will come. Hang in there. Remember the Lord is mindful of you and your precious baby. You are in our prayers. We wish you the best during this time.
Oh Amanda she is so beautiful! I just have to say that I admire you so much. Everything you have gone through has been challenging to say the least and you never complain! You're just always so faithful and optimistic. I just think you're fabulous!
I hope little Claire gets to come home soon - I know what you mean by wanting your little family to just be together. I was so excited when Elle came, but was missing Collin like crazy during those days I was waiting to come home. I about burst into tears when he walked in to visit us in the hospital. You're in my prayers! You are such an awesome mama and these little girls are lucky to have ya!
