BALEFIRE ......on the road to redemption.. .. .. You open the door to a weird dark gloomy gothic room. It looks like something out of an old Hammer House of Horror film yet there are screens everywhere. Some are playing old black and white episodes of the Twilight Zone, some are running Tarantino films, others A Clockwork Orange, Romper Stomper and Made In Britain. There’s a very strange collection of people loitering in the darker corners of the room; Travis Bickle talking to the wall. Christopher Lee. Luther of The Rogues laughing manically. Alex DeLArge of course looking evil and Gary Hodges looking hard and mean. There are others of course but their features are shrouded and unseen. Everyone is drinking alcohol, except for Christopher Lee who is drinking something altogether darker and richer. There’s music playing very loudly, maybe too loudly, the floor vibrates to the rhythm of it, the bass thunders and booms. AC/DC, The 4-Skins, Social Distortion, Blitz, The Meteors, Retaliator, Johnny Cash and Infa-Riot among others blare out of hidden speakers. Something bad is probably going to happen, something nasty and violent oh my little droogies, there will be blood, of that you can be sure, someone’s gonna die tonight. You close the door behind you, step into the room and cut the atmosphere with a fucking great knife before sinking your first large single malt whisky and then you finally begin to comprehend this thing, this mindset they call Balefire; this chaotic declaration of war on normality and the shackles and chains of suffocating conformity. .. .. .. ..BALEFIRE .... ..not for the predictable!.. .. .. ..Balefire is the result of a chance meeting between Pete Roper former bass player and main song writer of Skinhead Rock legends Retaliator and Barry D'Amery former guitarist and main song writer of 80's Punk/Oi! legends Infa-Riot. The result? A six-track mini-album entitled "On The Road To Redemption" that demands full volume and bleeding ears! This album is Punk Rock music without the shackles of conformity, it's Skinhead Rock music that's fucking with the rules big time! It's something more, something interesting, something new.
