Filling the end of the summer (July)

Image
I was taking some picture of William and he busted this one out.  He is such a character!  It was so funny so the other kids had to reenact it.  Love these wild ones!    Brooke might hate having her hair brushed or matching clothes and shoes, but she loves organizing and stacking.  She is quite the helper.  We painted with corn starch and water.  Spencer was annoyed with me and not pictured.  The kids loved it!  William really loved it and it was non-toxic.  We walked a mile down the road to get some ice cream that everyone said was awesome, but nothing compares to Whiteys!  But we had a good time and the night was beautiful! I love living in a neighborhood that is in walking distance to other places.  Spencer is a reader! Whenever we come home from the library with new books, he spends all of quiet time going through them.  We got some face paints and Hailey has been practici...

Summer Fun (end of July)

Image
William is adorable and so is his bed head!  I saw a flier for a pink firetruck, so we had to go. Brooke was pretty excited about it.   Our neighbors gave us this chair, so we cleaned it and the kids love it!  Brooke tries to keep up with the older kids but she just gets so tired!  She always has frog around.  Spencer helped me pull all of the weeds so he got to pick our his army guys. He took over the couch for a long time and played.  He's a cute kid!  I was going a little crazy, so we went to the dollar store and got some activities for the kids to work on.  A quiet hour in the middle of the week is worth $4 to me!  Brooke helped me cook.  She's pretty proud of that!  It got boiling hot at the end of July. It was miserable!  So, we bought 3 kiddie pools and it kept them pretty entertained. Hailey sniffed a flower so hard that she got pollen all over nose and started to have...

Dyserville, IA

Image
So, we live in middle of nowhere Iowa, which happens to be near the actual Field of Dreams field.  So, we had to go out there and see what there was.  Sad story, the field of dreams picture won't upload.  It looks like a field. We stayed there for five minutes while the kids said it was boring.  But still, cool to go there.  We also went to a toy museum.  Lots of historical toys.  Spencer still asks to go out there.  They also had a Basilica church out there.  Such a random little town with some funny things in it.  The church was amazing!  Pretty river  Blake had to move the car and I loved that the kids raced back to him when they saw him.  It was so cute.  We had to wait to go into the church because there was a wedding going on.  So, we walked around the Main Street and found the only open place around.  They had root beer floats, which was perfect because it was so hot! ...

4th of July (late!!)

Image
Well, it's October and here I am talking about 4th of July.  But I am determined to keep up on this blog!  We went to the neighborhood picnic at our friend's house.    Spencer and Evan  They did a bike parade for all the kids.  Spencer was thrilled to use this John Deere bike.    Brooke rides so fast it was hard to get a good picture of her! I like to call her "Ramona" from the Beverly Cleary books.  She is a maniac!  Hailey had fun decorating her bike.  These guys were happy as long as they were moving.  All the kids in the parade  The kids thought William should be sitting in Hailey's seat.  Few more years.  We went and saw Despicable Me 2 on an awesome groupon in a little town near us.  It was a great time and 3-D.  I may or may not have cried.    Sparkler fun.  The town doesn't let us do street fireworks because it's a college town and ne...
