I know how to sew...

I just DON'T enjoy it unless

I can play the piano...

although it is just very difficult now

with the RSD in my right hand and arm.

I'm having a hard time coming up with another one

just because I have shared so much already

about my racing cars, skydiving, illustrating a coloring book, stuffing my bra for my class reunion, losing my teeth in the lake when I went waterskiing, hiding my grandchild under my shirt so the lady cop would think I'm pregnant so I wouldn't get a ticket...I'm pretty adventurous so I'm pretty game to try most everything!

I mentioned earlier in the last post that I was able to spend Saturday with my daughter Stephanie and her four children at the waterpark at the Arizona Grande Hotel...I had more fun than I could shake a stick at...riding the lazy river, being pushed helped along by Taylor and Talon, because for some reason I was always WAY BEHIND {couldn't have been my big ol' behind floating on my tube slowing it down} or being in the wave pool with my grandson Taden...who is just the biggest dare devil!!!! Check Teagan out who definately has it figured out here...pull the plug out and enjoy not one but two ICEE's at the same time! She wanted both...the pink and the blue one...and she got it! Then I went down the Bonzai with Shawny...she took the tube with the tunnel and I am here on the other one...oh my stars...what a BLAST!!!! Not quite as thrilling as jumping out of a plane but it's a pretty good rush of water UP your fanny !!!

Last evening...the KING and I went to a funeral service for our son in law Adam's Grandpa Shumway, I had never attended a service in the evening and it was very nice, as far as funeral's go...lots of very humorous and touching memories...this man was AWESOME! I have a song on my playlist titled "Something Worth Leaving Behind" I was listening to it this morning and it reminded me of him...he has left quite a legacy for his family...he was an excellent role model for all of his posterity...I have never known anyone who could spell any word given him, large or small...BACKWARDS...in record speed and correctly!!!! He has written many many poems and has over 13,000 journal entries...he wrote about everything and in a very humorous way...they read several of them and I just about split a gut laughing...he never put anyone down or talked negatively about something or someone...just showed his fun loving side...our little grandaughter Karsyn is very very lucky to have had him for her Papa {as she called him} Great Grandfather. I can only hope I have "Something Worth Leaving Behind" like Gerald Swinton Shumway,Jr. He was an ordinary man who lived an extraordinary life by loving his family and always putting them first. He made each one of them feel smart, pretty, talented, important, safe...and most of all loved.

He was an example to me of what we all can and should do in this world...

I seem to get funnier looking as time goes on...

I just realized my post a couple days ago

had to do with how I used to curl my hair...

I guess I am a little hair obsessed right now...

I need my hair done in the worst way...

like before my last weave which was back in May...

holy cow did I just say May...

my eldest son was giving me crap about my flare ups...

you know the white stuff {the stuff that is suppose to be your crown of glory...the only object of respect that can never excite envy} that keeps appearing...

down right scary!!!

Yep I know...I passed my mom and went right to my grandma in looks...

Well...it's BACK!

But dang it...it didn't even dawn on me

it has been almost three months until just now.

I'm calling my cute little friend today

and making an appointment...

I was blond by birth

and now I am blonde

by the ol' bottle!!!

How I ever got on hair from looking at this picture I'll never know...

I am pretty scatter brained lately...could just be overload...as soon as I get my pictures on here from this weekend...I'll have something new to talk about besides old memories...now I have some new ones...Shawny and I had the pleasure of spending the day with my daughter Stephanie and her four children and had SUCH FUN... Grandma got ran over by a reindeer...just kidding...but it was their Christmas in July and Santa was there and they also had snow... nosirree Grandma went down the bonsai at the Arizona Grand Hotel at their really nice water park...oh my stars what a blast! Then this morning at 5:30 I sent my youngest son off to football camp in Snowflake for the week... Off to make an appointment...

Just a little before we had hot rollers or curling irons or at least I didn't own any...I had really long hair...sometimes I used welches grape juice cans...sleeping with rollers this way wasn't too bad but sleeping on rollers the other way

NO FUN!!!!

We applied these concoctions in order to give the highest degree of aesthetic pleasure to our male acquaintences so that we might be an object of delight...

Monday evening our kids...

Nicole and her hubby Adam and daughter Karsyn

were at our home

and our lights flickered a little and it began to storm like crazy!

The King was in watching the news

and said "Wow! There are poles snapped up and down the road from the micro burst!"

Sometimes....well quite often we have witnessed these kinds of storms here in the valley of the sun...the crazy lightening shows and thunder and dust storms and crazy wicked rain that comes FAST and FURIOUS...lightening has struck twice right between our home and the neighbor directly to the west of us and once hit the neighbor's house setting their electrical box on fire and hitting our tree...not quite sure who God is aiming at...or if He is just trying to tell us to

get it together or ELSE!!!!!

Anyway back to Monday nights storm...

we just got the rain and wind of it at our home...but yesterday my sweet hubby calls and says he is on the job on Southern between Higley and Power where the poles went down, this was about two in the afternoon and he said he was the fifth mixer sitting on the job and they were pouring inch and a half rock around the base of the holes for the new metal poles since the wooden ones all looked like busted toothpicks and then on Wednesday {today} they will pour cement and water which is a slurry solution that trickles down between the rock...he said each truck was taking about three hours a piece to pour out and he was 5th, why SRP ordered that way he says he'll never know but anyway he is just sitting and sitting...he did get to leave his truck for a little and walk over to Taco Bell and get a bite to eat...My son Zachary and his girlfriend Shawny needed a ride to Superstition Springs Mall out where all this took place and Southern was closed so we took the 60 out to it and I wanted to see if THE KING was still working...I saw his mixer and my heart flutters... just the excitement of seeing him does this to me even after 33 years...I parked behind this one store and reached into my purse for my camera which I ALWAYS HAVE...oh shoot! I remembered last night I took pictures of cute Karsyn, it's sitting at home, dangit! I wanted pictures of the King doin' his thang! So I grabbed my cell phone and walked out to Southern to take some pic's, my two kids wouldn't go out there with me, do you embaress your kids like I do mine? Oh well... it's my job and I do it EXCEPTIONALLY WELL! I start taking some pictures with my phone who would have ever thought years ago we could take pictures with our phone...I remember the first time I saw phones take pictures...it was on Oprah oh good heck my mind just goes off on a tangent and wanders through space and time... and my boyfriend looks over and spots me...

it is love I tell ya...

he just felt my presence and knew I was there...what do you think? I doubt it...I just happened to be the only person standing on the street because remember IT'S CLOSED and I'm wearing lime green pants...a sight for sore eyes as my dad would have said...I'm snapping pic's for him to see and he calls my phone while I'm on my photo shoot...and he tells me "HE LOVES ME!" I tell him him I'm blowing him a kiss and he actually reached up and acted like he was catching it and he said "CAUGHT IT"... I just ♥ him SO MUCH! They motioned to him and gave him other directions, so I figured I had better let him make a living and stop making goo goo eyes at each other across Southern... I walked back to the car and the kids were sitting there patiently waiting for me to stop making a fool of myself so they could go shopping...we were all but finished in the mall and it is about 8:oo in the evening now and we're slurping our Orange Julius' and my boyfriend calls and says he is just leaving...he had to tell SRP his hours were up as far as being legal and he had to dump it onto the street...it's CLOSED remember and they will just bull doze it into the holes...this man is one of the hardest workers I know, he puts in just the craziest hours for us and

still finds time to catch my kisses across Southern ...

I totally thought when I started teaching...

I was going to make this huge impact

on a child or children

and it has been the reverse...

they have impacted my life..

my view...

You have to fall in ♥ with the child in order to spend this many hours...

As adults we become less attentive to our environment...

they notice the smallest things...

a cobweb...

a bird's nest...

a moth's wing...

Some of the things I've learned

from children are...

♥Forget what happened yesterday!

♥Today is a brand new day of possibilities!

♥Be joyful~enjoy everything to it's fullest!

♥Always hold out for candy!

♥Never miss an opportunity to get dirty!

♥In the face of adversity~

throw a temper tantrum!

♥Play hard~Sleep hard!

♥Take time to sit quietly and observe!

♥Notice the little things!
When I am around children

I can be myself

and care less about what others think,

after all we are different and unique

and I need to learn not to take life so seriously

and

have fun along the way.

I've decided my PLACE is in the HOME!
After praying, worrying and countless applications
and hours on the computer filling out paperwork...
what ever happened to going into
places of business
and personally applying for a job
so they could meet you up close and personal?
THANK YOU TO MY FAMILY
FOR THEIR PATIENCE WITH ME!
I'm climbing back up on my bike now and giving it another go.

I'm preparing my nest for little eggs...
I know it is late into the season...
but that word patience is coming up again and again.
I've decided to teach
PRESCHOOL
here at home,
because of the late date...
I won't be prepared to begin until
September 3rd,
the Wednesday after Labor Day.

I realize other schools are starting August 11th

but if anyone is interested in starting in September...

then this is the place!

I taught preschool for three years in our home

26 years ago

when I only had three children and a little space,

I went on to have two more children and then there was

NO ROOM AT THE INN!

I have worked for the last nine years at a school

as a Kindergarten Instructional Aide and

for the last two years assigned as a TEACHER

of the Pre-K Program

working with a class of 25 four year olds

and preparing them for Kindergarten.

At the end of both years the children in my class

knew their colors,

number recognition to 100,

counting by 5's, and 10's,

they could write their first and last name,

they knew the letter names and sounds

and could show you the letter in sign language

and were in the beginning stages of reading.

My LOVE is TEACHING and CHILDREN!

Registration will be

Saturday, August 23rd @ 1:00

If you are interested in signing your child up or know of a parent who might be interested,

please leave a comment with an email address...

and I will be glad to give you the information.

Classes will be

Mon., Wed., and Fri.

Tentatively from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

and

12:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Class size will be no larger than

6 students.

Ages 3 1/2- 5...

you know how troublesome some things were...

decisions need to be made right now...

and I am feelin' just a bit weary...

opportunities have been placed in my path and whatever choice I might make will affect family and friends in different ways

I am just having such a hard time being decisive...

If someone one else would just tell me

this is how it is going to be and you're going to like it

then I would probably go ahead and do it

whether I like it or not...

I just don't like having the weight of

being the one to make decisions

and all I have to say is YAY or NAY...

DANG IT!!!!

If it happen's to be wrong

then I only have myself to blame...

it has kinda been a vicious circle,

so many chain of events have taken place

since the end of May.

The King and I are driving back home

from our daughter's home late one night

and coming down our street

I'm looking at the King's pickup

and ask him "Does that say "HONK IF YOU LOVE JESUS"

King says "Naaaaaa, I'm sure it doesn't"

I'm like "Yeah, IT DOES!"

"WHAT THE CRAP?"

Now believe me...

I am not opposed to this saying...

I just normally keep my beliefs tucked away

and am not so outwardly OBVIOUS!

Every one of his windows had something painted on them...

the sun was really bright so they might be hard to read...

My feelings are if you are going to drive around with that...

then you need to add to it

OR THINK I'M HOT!

There is nothing like a good strong honk

from a beefy tow truck with two men in the cab

to create euphoria in an old married mom of five!!!

I was put on bedrest with the germination pregnancy of my third child
and I started wasting my time watching the soaps,
there was a character
who played the piano
and had one of
the most beautiful singing voices...
I had ever heard!
His characters' name was Zachary...
I liked the type of person he seemed to be
and I fell in love with the name of Zachary!
When we found out we were having a son,
we chose to use this name as the one we would call him.
Fast forward several months...
my BEAUTIFUL kid sister who was doing some modeling
and studying fashion design in California
calls me and tells me she is dating
the guy that played Zachary
on Search for Tomorrow!
I said...YOU ARE NOT!
ARE YOU SERIOUS?????
Of course, I thought she was lying didn't believe her...
so Zachary and I hopped on a plane and
flew out for the weekend to see her
and OF COURSE....HIM!
Sure enough IT WAS HIM!!!
I didn't really believe her when she first told me...
heck we were just hick kids from Holbrook

small town kids...
I never really believed we would meet people
who actually were on T.V.!!!!
Well...these two

did tie the knot get hitched MARRIED
in one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL

SPLENDID and MAGNIFICENT
ceremonies and weddings I have ever attended!

It was truly a

HAPPENING MEDIA EVENT

not just a wedding! {sigh!}
They have had four wonderfully beautiful and handsome children
who are TERRIFIC SUPERB!
They have taught them right and they are good kids...

I just wanted to take the opportunity
to tell you
HOW VERY PROUD
I AM OF YOU BOTH!
You have been there for me and my family so often,
I so wish I could be of some comfort now to you both.
I don't understand why we have been given

some trials, headaches, HEAVY BLOWS...
but I know the type of

EXEMPLARY people YOU ARE
