Happy Holidays 2009

We spent Christmas at the cabin and had a wonderful time with each other and lots of extended family. We love this time of year and so happy to reflect on what's truly important in life. Happy New Year to you all. (We are standing on frozen Priest Lake for the above picture)

This year for one of my electives I chose to do choir. I have really enjoyed it. Sister Tamlee McGary is our teacher and she is really good. I have learned tons already:-) We have performed twice. Once at the Veterans/Grandparent's day assembly and another at the Christmas Concert (for the Jr. High and High School Band and Choirs). Here are a few pictures of the two events. ~Karigan

Third times a what?

Not a charm for sure. Yep, it's official. Mid-shaft complete fracture to the 5th metatarsal bone with spider fractures up the bone. The good news is that no surgery is required and the bone actually has began to heal. The Dr. couldn't believe he had played football on a broken foot. Truly an answer to many prayers. He will remain in his aircast for 3 1/2 more weeks then Dr. will re xray and he should be good to go for basketball. In the meantime, he rides the exercise bike, shoots and lifts weights instead of practice. Last year at this exact time he was in a cast for a broken hand. Three broken bones in less than a year. Poor kid. He still sports a smile because today the Eagles get to pick out their state champ rings! Doesn't get much better than that...

State Champs!

They did it. They really did it. Connell Eagles went 14-0 to finish what they set out to do, be the 1A State Champions. They defeated the Cascade Christian Cougars 28-7, on December 5, 2009 in the Tacoma Dome. Truly an example of hard work and dedication that paid off. What a great team and great coaches. A season we will never forget. Kraymer broke his foot two weeks ago in the quarter final game against Riverview. He was determined that he would play in the State game, no matter what. He had worked too hard not to. The team's trainer taped it up tight and with pain meds and adrenalin he played like it never bothered him a bit. We take him in tomorrow to see what the damage is. Good job Eagles. You made us proud. Now it's time to pick out that ring.

Headed to the Dome!

The Connell Eagles will make its third state appearance in the last four years with a 37-14 win over Chelan yesterday. The team's hard work and dedication has paid off as they face Cascade Christian on Saturday, December 5th at the Tacoma Dome for the 1A State Championship Title. Go Eagles!! We know you can do it!

Black Friday...

I survived! Today I decided to go to black friday! I have never been before, either has anyone else in my family but I was the only one who insisted on going. I went with my Aunt Jan, Sarah and Jilayne. It was way fun! Although next year I need to remember to bring a coat for while im standing in the rain at 4:20 in the morning at Target. The whole night before while I was trying to fall asleep, I kept asking my self "Is it really worth it?" Waking up at 3 am? lol. I thought it was crazy though because we got to target at like 4:20 and it opened at 5:00, and we were pretty far towards the end of the line. I can't even imagine what time the people at the front of the line got there! Although we did get a FREE bag for being one of the first 500 people. After target we went to Kohls, the Mall then to Wal-Mart, and home. Overall I was exhausted because my body tends to need at least 7 hours of sleep (not 3 1/2), But im glad I did it, and can't wait until next year! Aunt Jan Said that we should all get shirts that say "I survived Black Friday!" I agree.

Connell muscles up on River View 47-7

The Eagles advance to the semi-finals next Saturday against the Chelan Goats. A win against the Goats will place the Eagles at the Tacoma Dome December 5th playing for the 1A State Title. Go Eagles!! Click Here for video of Kraymer. And another video here.

Happy Birthday Kraymer

Kraymer turns 17 today. I can't believe it. I hate how times flies. Just two more years and he will be on his mission like cousin Elder Anderson. He began his day by our insane tradition of waking up before all living creatures to open gifts. He has grown into a great young man and we can't wait to continute to watch him accomplish all his goals in life.

Karigan's Jr. High volleyball season is over. She had a great time. She LOVES volleyball and can't wait to play for the Eagles next year.

Surprise!

We were treated to a great surprise last weekend. Kaitlan and Kortneigh traveled from Provo with Julie and Aaron Hawkins to watch Kraymer and Kade and the rest of the CHS Eagles play Royal. I have never been so surprised and shocked in my life (other than when the ultra sound tech told me there were two babies) when they walked in the door Thursday night. Todd was in on the surprise and thought he was so smart to trick us all. It was so much fun to have them home for the weekend. We love and miss them so much!

ROYAL CITY -- Matt Hadley ran for 126 yards and three second-half touchdowns Friday night as No. 2 Connell pulled away to defeat sixth-ranked Royal 30-14 and clinch the SCAC East's top seed to the regional playoffs.

Washington DC

Todd had a business trip in Washington DC so Karigan, Kade and I were able to go with him. Kraymer chose to stay home. He did not want to miss CHS football. Go Eagles! It was hard to leave him because he loves history as much as Todd and Kade. We had a great time and got to see so many historical sites. We love going to new places and finding how and where to go on our own. Fortunately for us we had our tour guide, Kade, with us. He is amazing with directions. He immediately understood the metro (subway) system. We took the Metro everywhere and just followed Kade. A few of the highlights we saw were: Smithsonian: Air and space & American History, Lincoln Memorial, National Archives (original Constitution, Declaration of Independence & Bill of Rights) Arlington Cemetary, US Capitol, Washington Monument, National Zoo, Washington DC Temple, Holocaust Musuem, Federal Bureau of Engraving, White House. It was an adventure that we will never forget.

The kids and I flew home a few days before Todd. We had a layover in SLC and were happy to see our BYU girls.
