Preschool

Kinsley recently started Preschool.  I can't say that I cried when she left because.... I went with her!!!  That's right, it was Kinsley's first day as a Preschooler and my first day as a (married) Preschool teacher!  I taught Preschool in college and I've taught Kinsley on my own-- but this is a new experience.  (I should clarify I am not the main teacher-- I am the teacher's assistant.)   One of the perks of the job is I get to bring Aila with me. So, in a way, it was her first day of Preshcool too.

Out of the Mouth of Aila

It is extremely rare to have Aila's attention while reading books. I don't know why. She seems to hate books (she must take after Eric). One morning she was sitting on my lap while she and I looked through a baby animal book.

Kiley: Aila what does a cow say?
Aila: Mooooo.
Kiley: What does and owl say?
Aila: Whoo! Whoo!
Kiley: Good! Aila what does a lion say?
Aila: Roar.
Kiley: What does a monkey say?

Aila in deep thought. I thought for sure I had stumped her.

Aila: No! No! Monkeys jump on bed!!!
Kiley: Hmm, I guess they do say that.

Out of the Mouth of Kinsley

Kiley: Kinsley, you have little hairs on your legs.
Kinsley spoken matter of factly: No mom, that isn't hair it's steam.
Kiley: Oh......

Kinsley: Mom when I get married can I wear your tall, TALL shoes, your pretty white dress, your crown, and your sombrero?
Kiley: My sombrero?
Kinsley: Yeah, sombrero... the long, long, white sombrero on your head.
Kiley: Oh, you mean veil.
Kinsley: No, I mean sombrero.
