But found the cutest mall "squishy" playground ever.
We went to the Zoo (no pictures) and the Botanical Gardens, gorgeous.
Hung out at the hotel.
Did a little shopping and found a "dancing hat". It was hilarious that he would put it on to dance and then take it off and stop. The video really doesn't do it justice, but it's better than nothing.
That weekend we had family pictures taken for Christmas cards. (I'll post a few when we get them in the next few weeks).
Then, Dylan went to Louisiana for a week and when he got home we drove to Dallas to meet his parents and Jeff and Alison to go to the BYU game at the new Cowboys Stadium. Evan lasted until halftime and then made Mom and Grandma bring him back to the hotel. We waited for a taxi outside by a bunch of drunk kids, then got a taxi driver who had no idea where to go and wasn't speaking English. When we got back to the hotel Brooke called and said they saw Dylan on tv! Cross that one off your bucket list Dylan. "be on ESPN" check.
(pictures coming as soon as Dylan emails them to me from his work camera. For now, check Facebook.)
The next day we went to the 6th floor museum downtown and looked out onto the grassy knoll. It was kind-of creepy and sad, but they have a nice tour. It was a good thing to see, especially since I wasn't alive and didn't experience it. It was interesting to hear Grandma and Grandpa talk about what they were doing that day. It reminded me of 9-11 and how I'll always remember driving on the freeway to my dentist appointment but looking around at everyone else and feeling a sense of unity as Americans. Anyway...
(more pictures possibly coming later)
It was a quick trip but fun to see family! We drove home Sunday and the next day was Halloween! I was looking for my Nightmare Before Christmas cd to get into the Halloween spirit but couldn't find it. However, I DID find an old cd I used when I taught French. Some of my students may remember "Au Bal Masqué". Evan danced to it all day long and created some new dance moves.
And then he found another dancing hat.
Evan LOVED trick-or-treating! He caught on pretty quickly that people wanted to put candy into his trick-or-treat bag and they wouldn't stop him from taking more either. Don't worry, we only went to a few houses. Here is a picture of Evan with the McGlashan clan. I'll have to get a better copy from Tiffany, although the glowing eyes effect is pretty cool.
Ahhh. And now we can take a deep breath and relax for a month or two... haha!
