The name game: Xanadu
Detroit's Mark Arminio points out some famous stuff named after poetry on the Mental Floss blog. While the 7 things he names are interesting, the most interesting things are in the comments section. Kudos to the commenter who brought up the 1980 Olivia Newton John movie Xanadu (which is -- holy shit and why? -- a Broadway musical now). Whether or not the film is actually named after Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem "Kubla Khan," any poetry scholar will tell you that Coleridge wrote it after a drug induced dream about a huge disco roller rink. Also, for years there was a strip club on Woodward in Detroit named Xanadu. The sign outside read, "Mythical Adult Entertainment." No doubt patrons stuffed the dancers' g-strings with "Kubla Khan" broadsides.
