The Day I Married My Best Friend

It was the day that every little girl dreams of her entire life, the happiest day of my life. And it couldn't have been an ounce better! Exactly ONE MONTH ago today and after all the stressful planning, it was a beautiful feeling to be sealed to my eternal companion for Time and All Eternity and then arrive at the reception to find everything picture perfect. The whole place was immaculately decorated, the yummy food was ready for eatin' and the bounce house was prepared for all the kids! It was better than Dustin and I had planned. THANK YOU so much to everyone who put so much work into making our wedding the special day it was and to everyone who was able to come and share the fun! After waiting so long to see the pictures.. Here they are!

One Special Day

The best day of my life, thus far, will be on Friday when I am sealed to my eternal companion for time and all eternity. But, last night was a very close second. It was the ultimate BEST feeling to be sitting in the House of the Lord surrounded by all the people who love me and Dustin so much. It was great to have all the support from our families and friends that we did. We had my dad and older sisters, my older brothers and their wives and one of my sister-in-law's brothers, Dustin's parents and grandma, his uncle, and some of my good friends. Going through for the first time was definitely a lot to take in and a little overwhelming, but there is no feeling more peaceful than being in that sacred place. I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet my goal that has been so important to me since I was a little primary girl. Thanks to everyone who was able to come.

Moment of Gratitude

For the past few weeks, I have rarely had a second to sit down at the computer and do anything but wedding plans.. Actually, I pretty much think of nothing but wedding! With only 8 weeks to prepare my entire wedding, I have been nonstop planning. However, I have to take a minute this morning to thank everyone who has helped me so much with everything that has come together so beautifully this far. First and foremost, I want to say how appreciative I am for the MOST helpful fiance' anyone could ask for. He called me up at work this morning and asked if there was anything more he could help with. Dustin has put off boating, basketball, barbequing and I'm sure a lot of other things to help all he can with the plans. He practically has his list that I gave him, completed. I love him so much! Next, I need to give a big shout out to my new mom (Kay) and her sister (Aunt Marny). They have been spending every Saturday dedicated to this wedding! They are always there with new ideas and feedback and let me know if something is cute or not. And I can't forget the many hours spent on our Jean Quilt.. It is going to be the cutest thing ever! Shiloh and Grandma also helped with that. Thanks SO much you guys. I also have to thank my Dad and older sister, Shelly. They have been such a big help as well. They keep me from becoming Bridezilla and remind me of all the little details that are needing to be done and appointments i'm supposed to be at. They left for girls camp today, and I'm feeling lonely already. Thanks for everything Dad and Shell. My best friend, Kayla, has been helping out wherever possible, also. She's been to many dress fittings with me now and has been doing all the little things that I can't do while at work. Thanks hun! Jackie has done so much for me also. She has so many good ideas and is always working on something to help. Thank you for all your hard work. A friend in my home ward, Sis. Harrison, is spending a ton of time on making all my bridesmaids' dresses! What an amazing lady! My centerpieces were made by Shari and they turned out SO so So adorable. Everyone who has seen them has loved them. Thanks so much for the amazing creativity and time you put into those, Shari. You are amazing! Sienna took the time to cut my hair and did it as a wedding gift, so Thank You so much! I know there are tons of others who have helped that i'm not thinking of right now, so to everyone who has helped out or who has offered to help.. THANK YOU for everything. Lastly, I must say I am SO grateful for an amazing photographer. Rachel is SO awesome! She did such a great job and was so fun. She is just starting her business so she is doing free (except for gas) photo shoots and I would recommend her to anyone! I couldn't have asked for anyone better. Thank You RACHEL! She just got them edited and posted a slideshow of some of them on her photography blog. If you want to see them, here's the address. Thanks again to everyone who's helped. Enjoy..

Always Expect the Unexpected

IT REALLY HAPPENED! I officially became the future Mrs. Dustin Young on July 4, 2008! It was absolutely perfect, better than I ever imagined. The 4th this year started out pretty lame for me because I had to work from 10 to 5. When I got off work, we all got ready and met at Golden Coral for a birthday dinner for my dad. Almost all of my brothers and sisters and their families came to celebrate. We finished eating and headed over to Gary's house to do fireworks.

We were all having a fun time, laying on blankets, watching the show. Dustin had mentioned to me that I should light some fireworks but I told him that I didn't really like to because I was scared they would get me, but he asked me if I would just try one or two with him. So I agreed and a few minutes later he came and got me to "light a big one, that would say Stacy." Oh right, like that would happen! He told me that Gary was going to let us record it so we could blog it :)We bent down and without me even realizing it, he got down on one knee. We were lighting it together and having a little bit of difficulty with the lighter, and by this time all my family knew what was going on and everyone was gathered around us! (You'd think I would have got a clue, but no!) When we finally got it lit, it stopped after one second! I was like 'AHH ha ha, just my luck, now I don't have to light one! Of course he tells me to get down and check it, when I'm the one who is afraid of them. But i did, I moved the paper, looking for another fuse or something and I almost moved the ring out of the way in search for 'the other fuse!' I then realized what it was and almost went into shock because I never thought the day would come! But it did and we are both very excited to be sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple at the end of August. Yeeeeeaah!

PS.. it would help a lot if any friends or family who read this would email us their address to save us a little time, since we really don't have a lot of it. Thanks so much. stacypeterson16@hotmail.com and dmacyoung@yahoo.com

While the Boy's away, the Girls will PLAY!

Dustin took a road trip with a guy that we work with. They left for Texas on Thursday night and won't be back until tomorrow sometime. I've missed him incredibly! So to keep my mind off of my love, I had a party at his apartment last night with my sisters and my best friend :) We sipped margaritas while catching up on some So You Think You Can Dance and then a good ol' chic flic.. P.S. I Love You. I was exhausted so I fell asleep, but it was tons of fun while it lasted! Gotta love girls nights.
