Summer Swimming 2011

This summer, because of the intense heat here in Texas, we liked nothing better than swimming! We swam, swam, and swam some more. Some of our friends even let us use their pool when they were out of town, which was oh so nice! And since we were swimming so much I though it only fitting that my little fish learn how to swim even better. So while my mom was still in town I signed each of them up for hour long sessions. Their session ran for two weeks and I was shocked at how much they learned. They all learned to swim without goggles, jump in and swim to the side unassisted (well all except Lexie of course!) and how to jump in fully clothed and figure out what to do in a time of crisis! Their teacher was awesome and we will definitely be going back to her this summer!

On the last day of their classes they put on a big showcase for all the parents. Here are the kids showing off all their new tricks :)

Sibling Love

There's one missing, but this summer it was all I could do to get ALL kiddos in one picture. Well, here's the oldest two giving Camila some loves :)

Summer Dress-Up

This summer the girls went nuts with their new dress-up clothes. This is how they came down to say good-bye to their Tio Kike and Tia Adriana right before I took them to the airport. Of course it was picture worthy :)

Summer at the Arboretum

Last Christmas we bought the children year long passes to the Dallas Arboretum...BEST IDEA EVER! We have used those passes more than I could have ever imagined and this summer (in spite of the massive heat wave!) was no exception. There were a ton of pictures taken, but since I am so behind on blogging, I just made a quick collage of the ones I could find. And yes, in all the pictures the kids look like they're glistening and that's all on account of the 100+* weather we experienced for over 60+ days this summer in Texas. I tell ya, this summer was a hot one here in Texas!

Mikaela's 6th Birthday

On July 3rd we also celebrated Mikaela's Birthday! This is the second time that Mikaela has had to share her birthday with a sibling blessing...but she's such a good sport and didn't mind one bit :) We showered her with presents and she had her favorite birthday dessert ever, Strawberry Shortcake! Yummy!! Some of her favorite presents, her Nintendo DS, her Rapunzel dress and wig, and all of her new PJ's!

Yes, that's Lexie showing off some new presents. She couldn't understand why both of her siblings were celebrating birthdays within a week of each other and thought that it was her birthday right along with them :)
