Confirmation& what 1/31 means to me.

Ill start with the latter. 6 years ago on January 31st, Mark and I got married. It wasn't a big extravagant wedding with hundreds of guests...it was a small intimate wedding with close family and friends.....Its especially special to me because my best friend since I was 5 was my Maid of Honor....she passed away a year and a half later. I was so glad to be able to share that special day with her and wont think back on our wedding day without remembering her by my side.

1/31 is also a day we wont forget because in 2009 it was the day we found out that our little Cammy would be joining us. It was our 5th wedding anniversary! Ill never forget it. A lot of mixed emotions because we thought we were done with kids and then SURPRISE! But we couldn't be happier! She is the sweetest, most beautiful baby in the whole wide world!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Confirmation.
I debated on whether I should post this publicly or not, because some people don't believe, some people do, some people might think I'm nuts (which at times I'm not denying! lol)...but when Hilary asked me tell more about my previous post, which i mean to go back and set to private, but i forgot, I decided I'd share it. If you believe, great. If you don't, I'm sorry. To each their own.
Its funny how God works, isn't it? Ive been told since I was young, that if I wonder if something is really from God, pray for, and wait for confirmation. There have been things in my life that I have wondered about, and never uttered a word about it aloud, and have received a word from someone who either didn't know me at all, or barely knew me. Someone who would have no idea what was going on. I would know without a doubt that it was confirmation.
As a Christian, I feel ridiculous sometimes when I wonder "is there really a God?" Ill ask sometimes "God, do you really exist? Is there really something beyond this life? Are you real?" I have often asked God to let me know, but not in a way that is bad, like an accident or something. I don't want an out of body experience, just confirmation. Many times I'll have dreams a couple days later that remind me of the fact that there IS a God....Ive dreamed about Jesus coming back, Ive seen him in a distance, in the clouds, on a horse. Some might say I've dreamed that because I was thinking about it and it came about in my dream. Maybe so, but is it just a coincidence that I've dreamed certain things shortly after asking God for confirmation? I don't think so. But, like I said - to each their own.
So, Cammy had recently been pretty sick with a bad cold. I was up at night with her, taking care of her, even more exhausted than I have been in the 4 months since she's been here. I prayed so much for her, that God would just take this sickness away from her, but when she was still sick, I started doubting, again. I would even get mad at God for not making her better. She's a baby, she doesn't deserve to be this sick. I just hated seeing her suffering through this horrible cold she had, AND I had never had a sick BABY before, so I didn't know what to do with her! My other girls were never sick as babies, but I also didn't have a child in school when they were babies.
At night, she was sleeping either propped up on my pillow, or in her bouncer in her pack n play so that she'd at least be able to some what breathe. One night, she was in her pack n play in the bouncer, finally sleeping peacefully after a lot of nose suctioning and sitting in a steamed up bathroom at about 3am. I fell asleep facing her pack n play, where I could just open my eyes and see her. I was sleeping really good when I suddenly woke up. When I opened my eyes, I saw him. I saw an Angel standing next to her pack n play, barely leaning over her as to check to see that she's OK, but so subtle as to not disturb her. As soon as I blinked, he was gone. Its very hard to explain what he looked like. He wasn't big and winged. He was tall, slender and about the size of a regular man. He was white, but not solid. Basically what I saw was his outline in a fine white mist. Again, its hard to explain, I just knew. I didn't see his face, i saw him as if i were looking at him from the side. I knew that he was an older man, like a grandfather type.
My only thought was "Its OK, that was just her angel" and I went back to sleep! When I woke up the next morning, I remembered it. I did not question it. But later as the day went on, I kind of starting wondering about it. So, I prayed and asked God to let me know if what I saw was from Him---I felt such a peace about it.
I decided to call my grandma and talk to her about it. I said "I don't know why I was allowed to see this" and she told me to pray about it. So I did, and then something came back to my remembrance--------Several days before, my same age old question came around again "God, are you real?"...I remember lying awake in bed one night, not able to sleep, and asking that. I remember saying "If I could only see an Angel, then I'd know"---Then I felt stupid again for even wondering because God has shown Himself to me so many times, in so many different ways, that for me to even question is really stupid. I never thought much more about asking to see an Angel because Ive asked before and nothing's happened,(although I have seen 2 angels when I was a kid, but one I don't remember and I was very sick and my mom said I told them that a woman was at the end of my bed, but they couldn't see her. The other was when my little cousin passed away...the night of the day we buried her, I woke up and saw a small white being above me....I blinked and it was across the room, i blinked again and it was gone. It looked the same as the angel I saw here...soft white outline kind of) Well, the night before this happened with Cammy, I was awake and thinking "I wonder what it would be like if an Angel walked in the room right now. Would it be big and bright? Would it have wings? Would it talk to me? Would Mark know it?" and then I went to sleep not giving it a second thought. So, when I saw this angel over Cammy, it really came as no surprise when I think back on it. Its like I must have known something was going to happen, but it didn't register in my mind...its was like my spirit sensed it.
So anyway, I know that it was confirmation from God, that not only is He real, He had his hand on Cammy while she was ill, even if I didn't realize it. I'm so thankful that God hears me and my stupid thoughts and that He doesn't get mad at me, yet He, in his way, brings me back to reality.
If you've ever wondered about God, or even if you are suppose to do something in your life, big or small, and you want to know if that seed was planted by God, pray for confirmation. He will give it to you. If you don't receive it, it might not be from Him, but from you, or it might not be the right time. Listen for God. He speaks to us so quietly, but He also speaks to us through feelings, dreams and other people.
When I look at Cammy, I often think "I saw your Angel".
God Must Really Love Me
I heard this song one Sunday morning when I was driving to get donuts for my family and it really spoke to me. It reminds me of my own life almost down to the T. Just wanted to share the lyrics =)
God Must Really Love Me ~Craig Morgan
There's been times I've let my faith run thin
Not been the man I should have been
After all the trouble I've been in, I'da gave up on me
I've lived hard and I've lived fast
Lost things I will never get back
Cause someone to look past all of that
God must really love me
When I look at the miracles around me
At the way that I live and the way He forgives
I know He's up there smiling down on me
And I believe the only reason why
I'm still alive is
God must really love me
Wake up and feel you by my side
The perfect girl, the perfect time
And see the way our future shines
God must really love me
When I look at the miracles around me
At the dream that I live and the gift that he gives
I know he's up there smiling down on me
And I believe the only reason why
I get to live this life is God must really love me
When I showed the worst, He saw the best
He pulled the world right off my chest
Every day I wake up I feel blessed
Yeah, I feel so blessed
God must really love me
God must really love me
God must really love me
2010
....A new year...A new beginning....
Isn't that what so many of us say each year, and we fall back to our old ways shortly after we ring in the new year? I know for me personally, I dont think I've ever really kept a resolution! I know that if I mess up, then I feel like a failure and just give up instead getting back on track and continuing with my journey.
Each year, I say THIS year is going to be different. Each year is nearly the same unless we've added a new baby to our life, which forces things to be different.
I am really tired of the same ol', same ol' life. Ive been feeling down lately, and some what depressed. I feel like I've lost control over my life, in a way. Its not like im spiraling out of control on drugs or something like, I just dont have the desires I once I did and every day im just BLAH.
So, then I realized it. Its because I'm not living for God the way I should be! I mean yes I believe, yes I pray, yes I do try and be a witness whenever the situation arises...but how can one REALLY be a witness if they aren't truly LIVING it as well? Ive been wanting to get back into church for months now, but I've had excuses---I dont know where to go...I dont want to go alone (my husband isnt a Christian)...Its too cold...I just had a baby a few months ago and im still too fat to fit into my decent clothes...Its cold and flu season...etc etc etc, etc. So, Sunday after Sunday passes, and I still havent gone to church (not that I HAVE to go to church to be a Christian---I NEED to go and fellowship) and I still feel bad about it.
So, on New Years, a fellow facebooker put up a post about reading the Bible in chronological order over the year. Ive never done that before, so I decided to take the challenge as well! She also made a group so that we are held accountable and can encourage each other to stick with it! Just what I needed! If I cant stick with simply reading for about 15 minutes a day, or so, then I cant stick with anything! So, here's website where it gives you what to read, if anyone is interested in it, I think its going to be pretty neat to read the Bible this way! One Year Bible OnLine - Weekly Chronological Readings I printed it off and have it in my Bible.
Another thing that I know I need to get straightened out in my life is my health. I have never been good at taking care of myself (eating good, exercising, and the like). I often wonder just how healthy am I really. I'd be scared to find out. So, this year I plan to start eating better, however I will not give up my beloved chocolate completely. I plan to exercise more and get back into running, which is something I love to do. I plan to teach my children, while they are young, to take care of themselves by putting good things into their body and not junk. I have been pretty diligent about not letting them eat much junk as it is, but as kids, they want it. I am so proud of them both for asking for water and milk instead of pop. Neither of them really care for pop, probably because they dont get it very often.
This spring we are going to plant a container garden filled with herbs and some of their favorite foods. Courtney LOVES tomatoes and she'd be willing to eat them straight off the vine. Ill have to do some more research on what other veggies would grow good in containers. I think that the girls will love planting and harvesting foods for us to eat later at lunch or dinner! Hopefully that will encourage them to want to eat good as well.
Another thing I'd like to do is save money and manage it better. I am a shopaholic. I mean its bad. I get mad or upset and I feel like I must shop to make myself feel better. I dont even necessarily buy things for myself, in fact thats rare, but I buy food and stuff for the kids or house mostly. Ive got to learn to make myself feel better ways other than shopping.
We want to eventually move, but we need to get some things paid off first before we'll be able to do that. So, thats a goal for this year, work towards paying down debt so that we can get a newer, bigger house!
2010.......I have goals set for my life that are serious enough to me to keep them. I am going to do my best to keep them and if I fall behind, ill remember to just pick up where I left off and keep on going!!!
So, here's to a NEW YEAR and a NEW ME!
My Angel
7 weeks old
They grow SO fast.
I never realized just how fast kids grow, or how fast time really does fly until I became a mother. It honestly seems like yesterday that Courtney was a baby, and now she's 5. I can still remember how I felt right before Catelyn was born and practically begging her to get out of my belly, and she's turning 3 next week--3!!! And, now my little miss Cammy is over 7 weeks old already! Its just crazy!
Since I haven't updated in awhile--life is a litte busy AND my computer crashed!--I'm a little late on posting their Halloween picture. Courtney was a purple fairy, Catelyn was a lady bug, and Cammy wore a cute pumpkin onesie with black pants. They were so stinkin' cute and had a good time Trick or Treating! We still have a big bowl full of candy left. Luckily, my kids dont ask for candy ALL the time.
Now, Christmas is quickly approaching and I need to get Courtney a Christmas dress--the other girls have dresses--and get to work on their Christmas pictures and Christmas cards. I had so much stuff planned to do before Christmas, like crafts and stuff, but its coming up on me so fast that I dont know if I can get it done in time......
Speaking of Christmas....I have given up on wishing for a white Christmas, but Im still hoping that we will get atleast one good snow this year, rather than ICE. My girls have never been able to play in the snow and I find that so sad =( The weather has changed SO much since I was a kid and its just not right.......
Let it snow!
Don't Cry...
This too shall pass.
Just a reminder to myself.
I'm gonna miss her little hair.....
She's here! Ive been too tired to blog, but I guess better late than never right? Cammy Marie was born on Sept 30 @ 3.02pm, weighing 7lbs 12oz..20.5 inches long.
I was in labor for 7 hours and had a very easy delivery. I wanted to go as natural as possible (that flew out the window when the induction was scheduled), but during getting a scalp monitor put on, Cammy changed positions and sent me immediately into brutal back labor. I tried to deal with it as long as I could, but her heart rate dropped and I was made to change positions a few times and once I was told I had to lay down because of her heart rate, I couldnt take the pain and I opted for an epidural. I had back labor with Courtney, but the intensity was gradual, this time it was immediate and I didnt have time to mentally deal with the pain because it was just there, with each contraction coming a minute apart..I couldnt even catch my breath! Laying down during labor is NOT where I wanted to be.
So after what seemed like forever rather than 9 months, my baby girl arrived healthy and cute and soft as ever!
Proud Daddy and sisters!
(until Catelyn decided that she's yucky and wont even sit by her now)
Courtney is thrilled!
Her hair...It's so soft...I cant stop touching her hair...
I'm going to miss her little baby hair...
She's my angel baby!
Getting burped...she's clearly over it!
She is such a sweet baby!
Little feet
Cammy is the 1st baby that I've nursed. I thought I was going to have to have help from a LC or someone, but I didnt and its been smooth sailin' since we got the latch right! She had a little jaundice...luckily she didnt have to go under the lights, but we had to take her for 3 days in a row and get her bili checked...not fun. Right now we are dealing with reflux, which is why I am such a zombie. She has a hard time sleeping after eating, which makes for long nights for mom (and dad when he's not working early in the morning). She was on Axid, and it didnt work, now she's on Prevacid and I'm not happy with it either. She has an appointment next week so hopefully we can figure out something...I need sleep.
Though its a bit rough right now, I know just how fast they grow and all this that we've dealt with will be just a memory, so its ok. I dont mind sitting up with her at night and holding her upright after a feeding so that she doesnt throw up because I know one of these days, I will wish I could hold her like that again.
Ok, ill stop with the mushy stuff before I cry. Ive been fighting the baby blues and I know if I let myself cry, I might not stop.....
Tomorrow's the day!
Im scheduled to be induced at 7am tomorrow! I wanted this to be an all natural birth experience, and though im not technically due until a week from Saturday..Oct 10th, im BEYOND ready for this to be over with. Ive exhausted my body, and my options minus castor oil and weird herbs, to start labor on my own, to no avail.
Im physcially exhausted to the point that I can no longer do this. I guess if I HAD to do, I could survive it...but I dont have to. My doctor has turned out to be so understanding with me. She knows the pelvic pain I deal with everyday. She knows how uncomfortable I am. She knows what its like to not sleep at night and still have to take care of 2 small ones anyway. I greatly regret not using her with my girls and instead going with an insensitive MAN OB. No offense men, but really, WHY are you OB's? Anyway, she didnt give it a 2nd thought to induce me. She didnt offer, I asked. She knows I wanted to go natural and she stripped my membranes last week and that didnt work, so here we are, going to be induced tomorrow and I cant freakin wait!
This is the longest Ive been pregnant, but only by a few days. Ive got 11 days until my due date, so its not like im having her super early or anything. My other kids were born at 36 and 38 weeks and they didnt have a bit of a problem. Hopefully my little Cammy will be just as healthy (although im feeling guilty for not eating better, i ate too much sweets).
So, tomorrow a new little angel will enter this world, and take her first breath. Our lives will be changed. Catelyn will no longer be THE baby. She will now take her place as "big sister", just as Courtney once did almost 3 years ago. No matter how old my girls are...no matter what they do...no matter who they become...each of them will always be my baby. It does not matter the order they were born, they are, and always will be my babies.
Soon, a lonely bassinet...a lonely crib...a lonely car seat...a lonely bouncy seat...lonely tiny clothes and blankets will have life to them and will be complete.
Can't wait to see your little face, Cammy. ♥
Im still here!
I havent updated in FOREVER! Quite a bit has happened since my last update......
Im 35 weeks pregnant now. I had an OBGYN appointment and she checked my cervix and im about a centimeter right now. She said probably not this week, but SOON. She kept stressing soon, so I dont really know WHEN she's thinking....but I know its soon! hehe I had an ultrasound a couple weeks ago and Cammy weighed almost 5lbs and was doing just great! She's head down and the ultrasound showed that she had hair! I cant wait to meet her! Im so excited =) Here's some pics from her room...not completely done with it :
(The bassinet and swing are just in there for now, they wont stay there)
Her name has little lady bugs with bows on it, hard to see here
I made the dust ruffle for her bed, but its hard to see here, its just black and white polka dot and its straight, not ruffled
Here's the most recent picture that I have from 2 weeks ago*33 weeks*..shame on me, I need to take another one!
Courtney started preK...well its really her 2nd year because last year she wasnt old enough so we sent her to a church preschool that started at 3 years old. This year its different because there's more kids and a new school, but so far she's doing really good! Here's a picture from the 1st day of school w/her teacher:
Sunday Courtney turned 5! I cant believe it. I was ok on Sunday, but a couple days before I was tearing up like a little baby over it! Just cant believe I have a 5yr old! Here are a couple pictures from her birthday, we had a small party with family at my parents house:
She got a lot of gifts, but the big one was a new bike! She was so excited!
Catelyn is about half way potty trained...thanks to that set back from going on a trip. She is pee trained, but not poop trained...not sure what to do about that. She wears panties all day long, and then at night when we put a pull up on her, she poos in it! So frustrating!!!! I know she'll get it eventually though.....
So back in March my aunt was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer...she was told 6-8 months to live, but in all reality her doctors thought maybe 2 weeks. Well, praise God, she is 95% cancer free and the other 5% is in remission!!! Her doctors said it was truly a miracle! I feel that its a praise report worth sharing for sure!!!!
So, thats the latest in my life....my kid turned 5..my other kid wont poop on the potty..and my other kid wont get out of my belly! lol
