20 months

Our sweet little toddler is now 20 months old….wow!  So not ready to be planning a 2nd birthday (ok…well maybe I am a little excited about the party and have started the planning, but still very sad that I already have to do a 2nd birthday…slow down time!!)

It is impossible to update everything she is doing/saying because she does and says it ALL!  But…here is a small snippet of who she is right now.

Wearing 24 month/2T clothes & weighs 24 lbs

She has become a bossy little bee. J  It really puts into perspective what we say in our house because sooner or later we hear it repeated to us. She will say “come on mommy” or “get up mommy” and if you don’t jump right away she will continue saying it and then start with “now, right now” and then “1, 2, 5…”…lol.  I think she hears that a little too much!

She can say her whole name…will say “Paisyn Book” (Paislyn Brooke) or “Paisyn Pa-pela” (Paislyn Drapela)….soo cute!
Will call B by “Beckyn Kate”
She wants Breckyn to talk soo bad!  She is constantly in her face asking her “what you doin?” and she will not stop until she gets an answer so this question will be repeated 50 or so times until she moves onto something else since B can’t answer her…she also holds conversation with her.  This morning when P was eating breakfast I told her to “hurry up”…she replied “we going bye-bye?”.  I told her “yes” and she turned to B and said “You ready go bye-bye Beckyn?” and repeated herself over and over waiting for her to answer.  It is too cute!
She speaks in short sentences/phrases….her little bossy side is also beginning to come out.  She always tells us “ome (come) on momma/daddy”, “get up”, “ome here”, “cover me up momma”, and even the dreaded “go away Momma”…ugh!  Mini teenager!  :)
I told N last night I would love to just freeze her just as she is right now.  She is smart, understands directions/commands, can communicate her wants and needs to us, is sweet and lovable, is independent, and has the cutest personality right now!
She is very independent and wants to do everything herself.  One of her favorite phrases lately (which is very trying for me!) is “I do it”. She has to do everything!! Brush her teeth, feed herself, try to bathe herself, etc.  The other day she wouldn't eat and I finally was able to get a bite into her.  She got mad and proceeded to take the food out of her mouth and put it right back in because she had to do it herself! UGH!
She has started climbing (chairs, couch, changing table, car, etc.)...I foresee broken bones  in our near future!
We are still struggling with drinking from an open cup…we let her practice daily and she drinks very good from one rarely ever spilling.  However, she wants to play with the water in the cup with her fingers, fork, spoon, etc. and likes to dip her food in it…yuck!
Can count to 12 by herself (often leaving out 3, 4 or 7) and can sing the entire alphabet including the little melody at the end “now I know my ABC’s next time won’t you sing with me”….her favorite song right now is “Happy Birthday to you” and it is heard several times a day with either Momma, daddy, Breckyn, or Grams names added in.
She can name several colors but can only identify pink and blue correctly.  If she does not know the color of something (and it’s not pink or blue) she will guess saying yellow, green, or purple.
Favorite foods are still cheese, yogurt, avocados, and strawberries.
Loves loves loves to be outside!!!  Cries when it is time to come in.
Since being home for a week while sick she hates going to day-care right now.  The 4 days she was there last week she cried and cried ALL day long!  That made it hard for me to leave.  She whined for them all day and just wanted to be held (even whining for me or N while being held).  She did it again today and I am just praying she can make it through the next 3 days and she will have ALL summer to be home with me.  I cannot imagine what it will be like though when It is time for her to return to day-care come August….ugh!
She has been known to throw a few fits here and there! J  For the most part though if you give her warning she does fine.  But if you take something away, change up the routine, etc. without giving her a warning it will be a melt-down.  We can usually distract her during a meltdown to get her to calm down by asking her to count, say ABC’s, sing happy birthday. Or play  “where is…nose, eyes, toes, etc?”.
Can correctly say and identify all body parts.  Her most recently learned and favorites are chin, neck, and shoulders.
Loves to be right by Breckyn all the time, but does not like when she touches her.  Breckyn flails and kicks her feet when happy and playing and often kicks, pokes, pulls P’s hair etc. when she is too close.  She gets upset  saying “kicked me momma”, “poke eye momma”, etc.
We say prayers with her every night at bedtime.  Now, the minute we say it's time for bed she says "say prayers" and starts making the sign of the cross.  It is so sweet.  She picks up on a few words here and there from her prayers but she is getting the jist of it.
When we pull in the driveway she says "we're home" and does the same for church and school.
She still loves all animals but we have learned she doesn't like them to get too close. She starts whining and freaking out when she is around a puppy or cat lately but she can't stop talking about them or making their sounds when physically not in their presence.
She is big into pretend play lately and it is so much fun.  The little imagination she has and the things she does and says are hilarious.  SHe also loves talking on the phone.  I hear her repeating snippets of my conversations in her pretend phone calls and everytime I am talking on the phone she has to talk too.  It's cute!  WHen on her phone she usually says "hello....have good day....thanks...bye!" :)

She identifies objects by saying…she will point to something that is mine and say “it’s mommies” or something of N’s and say “it’s daddies”, then her stuff and say “it’s Paisyn’s”….little turkey!
She amazes us daily at what she knows and understands and can do.  Sweet Paislyn we are loving every minute of watching you grow and wish time would slow down so we could truly enjoy every single stage with you since you are moving through life soo quickly!

Allergies

This poor little girl is allergic to everything!! On top of her food allergies to eggs & cinnamon, she seems to be allergic to mosquitoes.  REALLY?!?!?  How do you avoid mosquitoes around here.  These are a few of her recent bites that lingered and looked horrible for days!! UGH!

See how swollen she got?  THis was even 24 hours after the bite on the eye.

Half a year!

On Friday, May 24, sweet Baby B turned ½ a year old….OH MY!!  She is growing and changing daily!

She weighed in at 15 lbs 4 oz and 25 ¾” long.

Wearing 6 month clothes & size 2 diapers

No teeth yet, but she has been drooling a bunch and chews and gnaws on any and everything!

Rolling all over the room..Paislyn gets soo excited when she rolls around and says “rolling over Momma” J

Still exclusively breastfed….she takes 6 oz bottles of breast milk at day-care

She eats a little oatmeal in the evening.  My dad brought us a bunch of veggies from his garden the other day and I was planning on making her some food and starting with carrots this weekend now that she is 6 months old.  Unfortunately, her eczema “exploded” (dr.’s term) this week and until we can get that under control and figure out what caused it they advised us to hold off on starting any foods until further notice.  SO, at this time we will just keep trucking along with the oatmeal.

She is going on the 2nd straight week of sleeping through the night. PRAISE THE LORD!!!  She was sleeping through the night once upon a time, but for the last month or two she was religiously waking up around 2-3 am and nursing.  Then, she would conveniently fall asleep right when it was time for me to get up and start the day.  That meant my day was starting around 2 or 3 whenever she woke up.  That made some long and tiring days of teaching 40 something kiddos.

She has really started playing with her toys…loves pawing at them, eating them, rolling them, etc.

She loves jumping in her exersaucer and we are working on sitting up.  She can sit up and does well until something catches her attention and she turns to look at it and over she goes. J

She absolutely ADORES Paislyn…I have always heard people say that and I thought they are just a baby…well it’s true folks.  She laughs and smiles at Paislyn more than anyone else.  She follows her with her eyes everywhere she goes—which is everywhere!  She smiles at her and loves her to interact with her.  She belly laughs really hard (it’s adorable!) at silly things she does.  It cracks me up!

She has started rolling over in her sleep.  I freaked when P started doing this and I would get up every hour at night to check on her and flip her back over.  I am definitely WAY more laid back this time around and when she did it the first night this week I just left her that way.  She has flipped over every night since.  I knew it was only a matter of time as she LOVED to lay on her side and has been sleeping that way for quite some time.

Wants to be held and does not like to be put down after you have been holding her.

She is pushing up all the way with her arms but them little legs do not yet move when she pushes up.

She is still the sweetest little happy baby!  She is definitely my little cuddle-bug and I love it!  Happy half birthday sweet girl! Mommy, Daddy, & Paislyn love you soo much!!

Oh...here is when the pictures start getting interesting! :)

Look at those cheeks! :)

Her favorite way to sleep!

Sitting so pretty!

Her babies do everything with her...including eat breakfast. :)  She even wants to share with them and tells them "Please" when she gives it to them and then says "thank you" after she shares ...too cute!

Mothers Day 2013

It never ceases to amaze me that every time a holiday approaches, I suddenly am forced to realize how fast time truly is flying!  2 years ago on Mothers Day I was pregnant for the first time.

Last year, I celebrated Mothers Day as a mommy holding my baby in my arms AND we had just announced to the world that we were expecting again!!!

(Last year)

This year these 2 sweet little loves call me Mommy and I could not be more blessed at how beautiful, sweet, and loving my girls are!

Being silly before church

Miss P was in a weird mood and was very emotional and clingy all day. :(

Sweet B

She got close enough to Uncle Curtis to take a picture.

Happy Mothers Day to me!!!! I got to get out of the house for 2-3 hours on Saturday morning and join my sister, mom, aunt, and cousin for a PEDICURE!! Woohoo!! Have not had one since right after P was born. I have missed 2 summers of treating myself to a pedicure here and there because I have been pregnant.

Sweet baby finally gave in

Rocking on horse that I rocked on as a kid...she calls it "yeehaw" and loved it!

B had a turn too!

Melt my heart smile!

Sliding at Aunt Brenna & Uncle Kevin's

Such a big girl!

Playing the drum set ...OMG!  She LOVED making a ton of noise!
