Michael The Lion Edits Out Now On Razor-N-Tape

The major labels couldn't back up the presses forever - the Michael The Lion Edits are now available on 12" wherever fine records are sold! This record has a little bit of everything. Any Time is an edit of a loft classic that I did almost five years ago (as DJ Apt One). The Don is an italo/eurodisco joint reminiscent of my RCMP days. Get More is my multi-instrumental hard disco-funk take on a Philly classic (I play 4 guitar lines on it). Lastly 909s And Herb is a little collabo with my man 50 grand Sammy Bananas that has turned into a secret heater in Soul Clap's recent sets. Very excited and very honored to be a part of this label - which boasts a roster of top class editors like Dimitri From Paris, Ron Basejam and DJ Vas. DJ Apt One - Live Italo Mix on WKDU FM

Here's a live mix I threw down on WKDU in Philadelphia during their Electronic Music Marathon in October.  I was the self-nominated "roots of electronic music" presenter.  Lots of italo and classic electro 12 inches alongside my own edits.  Kinda sloppy on the mixing but I make no apologies, I did a 4 hour set and then came over to the radio station and threw down from 2-4 AM while gassed up on Red Bull.

Hold On We're Going Home (DJ Apt One Italienische Version)

Unearthed a remix I once did for popular 1980s Italian HI-NRG singer Drake (nee Aubrizzio Driaggio Grahamino), best known for coining the Italian phrase "si vive una volta sola" (YOLO) and for his role as "Jimmy di Sedia a Rotelle" in the RAI-Italia afternoon special Scuola DeGrazzio. Ripped from a 1985 German 12" Maxi Single version.

Here's a fresh rip of the Italo mega classic, Take A Chance to get your weekend started right! I know vocal version has made the blog rounds over the years, but the rips are always questionable & often from bootleg pressings. Rest assured, these are from an OG (which sounds way better than the Cosmic Explorer bootleg). Plus I don't think the instrumental is so easy to find online, so say thanks and play LOUD!
