Kanye West - Runaway (video)
Kanye's foray into art film is mildly entertaining, but aspirations to a feature-film-quality production are limited by the music video feel. If nothing else, it will whet your appetite for his forthcoming album, 'My Dark and Twisted Fantasy'.
For highlights, try the opening track, which is supposed to be on the new album. Skip to 7:32 for "All of the Lights", which is even better than the previously leaked version, although it's only a 2 minute snippet. It features the addition of Rihanna on vocals. Skip to 4:39, 23:47 and 24:42 for a few new songs not released by Kanye yet. Afterward, skip to 26:53 for "Lost In The World", an extended version of the previously leaked song featuring Bon Iver.

Featuring Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, and Big Sean.

I guess mefloquine does funny things to your head. Anyway, the video is good for a chuckle. But it's still not as good as
this interesting cover by Pomplamoose though, or how about this excellent cover of

- Last.fm sells out to CBS, who then sells you out to the RIAA (?)
Shocking allegations from Tech Crunch. I don't know about you, but I'd be nervous keeping a last.fm account. The allegations warrant further investigation and, if true, likely run afoul of privacy laws. It clearly violates their TOS and privacy policy.

- SNL - Jizz In My Pants (video)
Andy Samberg and company are back in this utterly hilarious SNL short/music video "Jizz In My Pants", featuring Molly Sims, Justin Timberlake, and a very foxy Jamie Lynn Sigler. This is apparently the first single off comedy/parody trio The Lonely Island's album, "Incredibad," although I don't see it in their tracklisting.

Top 50 TV Shows of All Time, Alibi Tom - Fire (MP3), Soundamus, Hot Chip - One Pure Thought (video)
- Empire: Top 50 Greatest TV Shows Of All Time
Worst...top 50 list...ever.
My Top 20 in no particular order would be: Arrested Development, Twin Peaks, Futurama, Law and Order (not on their f*ckin' list!), The Simpsons, Scrubs, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Seinfeld, The Sopranos, Chappelle's Show, Sex and the City, The Office, The Wire, 24, South Park, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, The Cosby Show (also not on their list!), The X-Files, and Cheers (also not on their list!). Other glaring omissions: I Love Lucy, M*A*S*H, All in the Family, The Tonight Show, Sesame Street, Hill Street Blues, game shows...
Alibi Tom - Fire
Alibi Tom are yet another catchy Swedish pop band. They sound a bit like Interpol meets Peter Bjorn and John and Spoon, which isn't a bad thing.- Soundamus

My Brightest Diamond - Inside A Boy
Shara Worden has a wonderful voice. She's been compared to Kate Bush, which is only a bit of a stretch. However, if this song is any indication, things on 'A Thousand Shark's Teeth' (the follow-up to her eclectic debut LP) will pick up where they left off. -

Use the bookmarklet below (drag it to your bookmarks or favorites); then, when you are on a YouTube page, use it, and you will see a download link appear under the video description area. Be sure to save as a .mp4 file. For info on how to set up the GreaseMonkey script, see the above link.

Akon Calls T-Pain (video)
Butternut reduction. The best animated viral video of the year so far. -
Bjork - Wanderlust (video)
Easily the best music video of the year. An imaginative and otherworldly adventure. It's certainly in Bjork's top five all time (and she has some damn good music videos). -
Mike Gravel Covers Helter Skelter (video)
From a collaboration between rx (remember Bush's "Sunday Bloody Sunday"?) and Mike Gravel, the presidential candidate that time (and apparently voters) forgot. - First, it was Madonna. Now, Jay-Z makes the recording industry sweat a little more.

- Flickr: The Defaced Presidents Pool
This is pretty funny. True, Benji wasn't a president, but I'll let that slide. People featured on U.S. currency transformed into Spock, David Bowie, Kiss, and Adam Ant. Lincoln is convincing as an Aladdin Sane era Bowie.

New video for Adele's "Cold Shoulder" features strobe lights and melting ice sculptures. - GQ Interviews Keith Richards
Excerpts below feature Keith Richards' rambling thoughts about everything from Mick's sexuality, cheese phobia, moisturizing, and the Beatles. At Mick’s gayest, how gay was he?
It was camp.
Camp?
Yeah. It was all… I really have no idea if anyone ever shoved it up the sh*tter.
-----
Do you have any other phobias?
As far as bodily, no. Cheese is a no-no for me. Everybody else, go eat it. Just take a look at yourself. Fermented milk is not the ideal choice for everyday eating, that’s all. [laughs]
-----
Do you regret not moisturizing your face?
No. I leave that up to other people.
Ever think about getting Botox?
No one’s ever talked me into doing that. You’re lucky if you walk out of there alive. God bless you.
-----
Do you think the Beatles are overrated?
Oh, definitely. So are we.
Why?
In that moment, the Beatles… But how can you—I mean yes. I’ll say yes. As a musician, yes. As a breath of fresh air and an injection of life into society, no, they were certainly not. They were exactly what was needed. It was a great enema.
What does that make you guys?
A great toilet bowl. [laughs]
-----
Is there a Stones song you feel is the best articulation of your philosophy?
It’s hard to put it into a two-and-a-half-minute song. But I think “Tumbling Dice.”
Will you have them play that at your funeral?
I hope so. Just as long as I’m not there. [laughs]

Man Man - Top Drawer | mirror (MP3)
This intriguing new tune from Man Man sounds a bit like carnival music with a touch of Animal Collective in the chorus. -
The Helio Sequence - Keep Your Eyes Ahead | mirror (MP3)
Combine an laid-back indie rock style reminiscent of Band of Horses with touches of neo-psychedelia and you've got a great Sub Pop product and an album I'm looking forward to hearing more of this year. The song is on a forthcoming album of the same name. -
Lykke Li - I'm Good, I'm Gone (video)
