Florence Catching Some Rays

Good evening my fellow bloggers,
I hope everyone had a good weekend and managed to find plenty of crafting time. So pleased blogger is back up and running felt really lost without it. Anyway, I managed to get some more sample cards done for the Lincoln show and thought I would share this card with you using the very cool Florence from Kraftin Kimmie. The DP's are MME and and Doodlebug teamed with Coredinations.
I created this card for a class I ran last week which was how to use Nestabilities in a different way. For this card I used the negative frame created instead of the positive shape. This was then raised on pads to create 2 recessed panels, a little distressing on the bunting and sand dunes to give it texture and hey presto! As normal I used my trusty Promarkers to colour Florence and the shells.
I have just sent this card to my friends daughter who is in hospital at the mo after a big op so I would like to send her a huge hug and can't wait to see her back home.

I am entering Florence into the following challenges:
Kraftin Kimmie - #78 'Girls Rock!'
Cute Card Thursday - #164 'It's So Distressing'
Paper Sundaes - #69 'Birthday Creations'
Stamp Something - 'Anything Goes'
Passion for Promarkers - #99 'For a Teenager'
Charisma Cardz - #19 'Under the Weather'
The Crafty Pad - #121 'Holes'

Promarker Colour Recipe:
Skin: Saffron, Baby Pink
Hair: Buttercup, Tulip Yellow, Sunflower, Gold

Retail Therapy for Anya!

Evening peeps!
Thought it was about time I pulled my finger out and posted something. This is a card I was asked to make for an 18th birthday. The guidelines were a little stricter than usual so I haven't really warmed to the design. I do love the images but not so thrilled with the layout. I seemed to have used this collection of papers by MME for a lot of designs lately and maybe that's the problem. Anyway I did enjoy colouring Anya so not all bad.

A Girls Best Friend!

Sorry I know I have been a bad blogger and have been awol for the last week but I have been incredibly busy getting even more products uploaded onto my website in preparation for the launch (seems to be a never ending task at the mo).
Anyway last Monday we celebrated my mums birthday, she is a huge inspiration to me and in all honesty my business would not exist without her help and support. Well before I get too mushy I wanted to share with you the card I made for her. I used the new Kanban stamps with the Old English Sheepdogs as I grew up with these wonderful teddy bears and my parents still have 2 of them, Dylan who is an amazing 15 and a half and Harry who is 7. We began showing them when I was 14 and I quickly became the groomer so the image of the little girl brushing her cuddly friend seemed soo appropriate.

For this challenge we are sponsored by the fantastic Simon Says and they are offering a $25 voucher to the lucky winner.

I opted for the fabulous Kraftin Kimmie beach collection and decided to create a beach scene using a sidestep card. I made my little beach hut/changing tent using Doodlebug paper from the Blue Jean collection. I then used cloudy dp from MME and a mix of Bazzil to construct the basis of my card. As always I used ProMarkers to colour my images but then used paper piecing to add clothing and accessories. All distressed with Walnut Stain and all is done!

Robin Hood - 'One for the Boys'

Good Evening all,
Hope every one of you had a good weekend. I had a wonderful birthday and received loads of gorgeous handmade cards which I am very grateful for, they will definately stay on display for a long time.
Anyway thought I 'd share with you my latest Magnolia card. I love this image of Edwin dressed as Robin Hood and I couldn't wait to ink him up so here is the result. I kept the card kinda simple as obviously flowers weren't really suitable so I opted for some ferns, raffia and pearls. I also used the new Tim Holtz alphabet Sizzlits die to add the 'wanted' sign. Inside the card reads 'A Special Birthday for a Special Boy'. I am entering him in the following challenges:
Magnolia Down Under Challenge #57 - Birthdays

Z is for Zig Zag..... ABC Challenge DT Card

Good morning everyone,
Well I think finally all this sunshine has gone to my head, I almost seem incapable of using my trademark earthy brown tones at the moment which would normally be distressed to within an inch of their life. So I'll just have to show you another card in fun and funky summery tones. So this week on ABC Challenge the theme is Z is for Zig Zag ie a tri fold card etc and it is being sponsered by the wonderful Lacey. I have chosen to use the fab 'Dressy Anya' collection from The Greetings Farm along with one of my favourite paper collections 'Quite Contrary' from MME. I also used the sketch from Quirky Crafts which was great fun to work with. This week Crazy 4 Challenges wanted to see buttons on your projects so I added some Sizzix buttons to finish. Finally the theme over at Totally Gorjuss is 'Thinking of You'.

Good evening,

Soo late posting this card but I have just got back from the cinema, wasn't sure what I'd think of the new Twilight film but the eye candy is amazing yum!

Anyway, back to crafting this is a very quick little card I made for a class to show off the gorgeous MME papers and the fab Hero Arts Flower stamps. Cannot believe it but there isn't a ProMarker in sight! I did however use my all time favourite Nestie to make the card - Labels 8. The photo did not come out well so I will replace it with a better one soon.

I am entering this over at Color Throwdown they wanted to see the following colours Regal Rose, Certainly Celery,Real Red and Baja Breeze (Blue)

Every Good Princess Deserves Chocolate...

Evening all,
Hope your all good. Today has been totally hectic trying to get everything ready for my craft class tomorrow but yeah it's all done. I will be teaching my classes of ladies how to make cards with pockets this week so will post the cards soon.
Anyway I managed to get some crafting done last night including using my new little sewing machine for the first time. Thanks to the lovely Rowena for her advice on which machine to go for. Unfortunately my sewing is not too straight but hey I'm a learner!
So here's my latest Tilda card hope you like her:

I will be entering this card in a few challenges. The inspiration for the colour came from the new challenge site Totally Tilda who wanted to see Chocolate shades.
The fab sketch came from Totally Gorjuss.

Tilda on Acetate

Here comes the sun....du du du du!
Well keep your fingers crossed anyway. The sky looks really grey at the moment. Call me paranoid but I feel the clouds are waiting for me to shut the shop and start walking home before they decide to burst.
Anyway I wanted to get another card posted before the weekend as I will be away and unable to post for a few days.

As many of you know I have my own shop and I teach classes weekly. Well I was asked if I could run a class incorporating Acetate and Shrink Plastic. I really wanted to make something a little funky as I do tend to lean quite heavily towards the distressed style when creating. So, I had a think and came up with this acetate creation. If you look closely you'll also see that I did dig out my shrink plastic to create the little glittery butterfly. Really enjoyed playing around with the acetate as I hadn't used it for ages, a simple design but fun to make.

Spring Rain Tilda

Good Morning!

I hope everyone enjoyed the fabulous weather we had at the weekend. Yippeee! My day off and it was bathed in glorious sunshine. I spent most of Sunday morning crafting with my mum whilst drinking copious mugs of tea and listening to the soothing sounds of a contented spaniel snoring his head off!

Anyway, this week over at Just Magnolia there challenge is a sketch based one, and I had great fun using it. The other twist was that it had to be a Thank You card. I have been desperate to use Tilda in Spring Rain so I set to it. The only problem I faced was that once I had coloured her and cut her out with the largest oval Nestie I found that to fit all the other elements of the sketch in I needed to use an 8x8" card. I used the fabulous MME papers from the Quite Contrary range, lots of Prima bling and of course my trusty ProMarkers. I also used the gorgeous Hero Arts 'Big Flower Pattern' stamps to create my layered flowers. These are fast becoming a firm favourite of mine.
I will also be entering this card over at Quixotic Paperie as there challenge is 'Heavy Metal' and I used a fab metal Umbrella charm to add a bit of fun.
Over at 'Totally Gorjuss' the theme is to include a charm so I will be entering over there as well.

Shabby Chic Sarah Kay

Good morning everyone. Hope it's not tooo wet and miserable where you are, it's pretty grey and soggy here today. Anyway thought I'd cheer myself up by finally finishing this Sarah Kay card. I coloured this image ages ago and put her in a box and forgot all about her. Then I had the idea to make a 'shabby chic' style card using some gorgeous MME Papers that I rediscovered in my craft box. So the card was born! I used scraps of already part used papers to make a little line of bunting which I was really pleased with and will be using again. I then folded back the corner of the paper and fixed with a Papermaina DIY brad and filled the corner with a large chocolate rose from Magnolia and some other smaller roses from my stash.
I am entering this over at The Shabby Tearoom as they are running a challenge to use scraps.

Tilda with Rose

Hi, hope everyone is having a great weekend. I wanted to stay in a fresh Springy mood despite the rain outside, so I went back to my MME 'Quite Contrary' papers and created this card. I used the same freebie sentiment stamp I used on my last post as I have found it very useful.

Once again coloured with Promarkers and finished with Prima flowers and gems. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend and get lots of crafting done!!

Tilda on Watering Can

Wow can't believe I am managing to post again so soon. Another Magnolia image but I was totally inspired by the MME Quite Contrary papers. The whole range is beatifully fresh and springlike. Once again went a bit mad with the Prima flowers but as this was a birthday card for my friend I knew they would be appreciated.

I love the new Hero Arts sentiment stamp that I used as the easel support. Sorry its not very easy to read in the pics but it says:

"Wishing you love and laughter good health and happiness on your birthday and always"

Not too mushy I thought.

The "Just for you" stamp was a freebie afew months ago on the front of the Docrafts Creativity mag.
