Today you are 36+ weeks old. By the end of this week you will be a full term baby. Dad and I are so excited for your arrival and can't wait to meet you. Pregnancy has been a rollercoaster of feelings, emotions, energy, and exhaustion but we know you are worth every minute of it. Dad and I tried for almost a year to start our family in 2010-2011 but things did not work out. So after 2 months of trying in 2013 we knew you were meant to be, and we truly believe that Heavenly Father is sending you to us now for a special reason.
We pray that your birth will go smoothly with little or no complications and that you will be a healthy baby. We are excited for that moment when we get to see you for the first time and hear your little cry. I can't wait to hold you on my chest and feel your heart beat and listen to you breathe. I already love you so much and am so blessed to get to be your mom.
Your nursery is decorated with jungle animals and fun colors like blue, green, red, and orange. You've been spoiled by lots of friends and family members with clothes, toys, and other necessities. Regan and Bailee are noticing that things are changing and that they can't play with all the toys in the house anymore. We hope that the three of you learn to share and that you will love and protect each other.
As you grow older we hope that you will continue to be healthy. We want you to eat fruits and vegetables and to at least try all kinds of food so you will be able to be tall and strong like your dad. We hope to teach you responsibility and accountability at a young age. Since mom is a school teacher, i'll expect you to practice your colors, ABC's, and other pre-school lessons probably as soon as you can talk ;) We have very high hopes for you and will always be there to support and do all we can to help you grow.
When your in school we hope that you will be a good friend. That you will know that gossip is not good, to play nice with boys and girls, and to share. We hope that you will strive for excellence in all of your classes and try to get good grades. We hope that you learn that it is okay to ask for help and that giving up is never an option. We want you to excel in whatever you choose to do with your talents whether it be sports, music, or arts, and that no matter what we will always be in the front row cheering you on.
When you graduate high school we hope you have the desire to go on a full time mission and to have the opportunity to serve the Lord. We hope that as you've grown up that we have instilled in you church principles and the desire to do what is right at all times, in all things, and in all places. And when you return that you will be able to find a special woman to share the rest of your life with. It is strange to wish and think that for a son that I have yet to meet, but I am so grateful for your dad and the husband he is to me, that I hope you have the same happiness we share. And to know that what we have here on earth, we will have in Heaven, is so special.
I know there are times when we as parents will screw up, and there will be times where you will make mistakes, but we will always be a family that forgives and loves unconditionally. Beckham we love you and are so blessed to have you in our lives. A couple more weeks... until we meet.
Love,
Mom and Dad
