Moose Haven

So I have decided to name my little cabin Moose Haven and here's why.....

Yesterday I woke up around 5:30 am to take my dog outside to do her business. First off, we have only had this dog (Tracks) for about a week, and she has never barked. EVER. I thought for sure something was wrong with her vocal cords because all she did was whine. Even with her severe seperation anxiety she just whines when we are away. She has never even come close to barking. So I take Tracks out to do her business and she starts looking towards the tree line and starts barking. Warning #1. I start to look at what she might be barking at. The motion light that we have on our house only goes so far when it's pitch black outside. Then all of the sudden I see this HUGE MASSIVE OBJECT coming out of the trees towards the dog. IT WAS A MOOSE!!! It was a HUGE moose and I started getting freaked out that Tracks was going to aggrevate the Moose and I would have a dead dog or broken house or something. Tracks came back inside after calling after her franitcally for about thirty seconds and then we proceed indoors so to be out of the Moose's way. The Moose walks about ten feet more, about five feet from our deck, and proceeds to lay in our front yard. I am freaking out. I have to get to work and I have to start my car before I go so that I am not freezing. Lyle is home from work because it's too cold to work outside and is taking Tenley for the day so he needs the car seat and this Moose is just sitting in my front yard as if to say, "Come out and Join me. I can kick your trash and then some.". So Lyle goes outside to get the car seat and start my car and the Moose didn't move. He says, "See the Moose didn't move the whole time I was out there." Then I thought, "Well the Moose is bigger than me and can get scared by anything that moves. I would rather stay inside and win, then go outside and possibly loose." Then the Moose got up and walked over to the other side of the pond (not england, we have an actual pond at our house). I ran to my car, got in, locked the doors (because a Moose can't open a locked door), and went to work.

The best part of the story is that when I was telling this to my loving father, he told me to call my mom because she would appreciate the story (in other words, he was looking for the soup at the grocery store and couldn't find it. He wasn't listening, wanted to get me off the phone so he could find the soup, and told me to call my mom because he didn't hear a word of the story). So our humble abode is now named Moose Haven and I will always look twice before sending my puppy out into the yard.

She loves playing Piano with Grandma

This is my cabin in the woods. Gotta love it!

Curious George and Tenley. She was a little more excited than the picture lets on!

5 Months Old!!!!

My baby and the kitty love each other! They are both five months old! Tenley loves to "Pet" the kitty. She usually just grabs her and hold on to her fur. Tigger is really good. She doesn't complain unless Tenley pulls really hard and then I will hear a meow from her. They are really good friends and to everything together!

Tenley Loves holding the kitty!

My baby can hold herself up so well! She is almost crawling too!

I LOVE her blue eyes! I kinda don't know where she got them from!

She has also recently found her feet and rarely lets them go. It's kinda hard to put her diaper on sometimes!

This look she inherited from her father. It just cracks me up!

She is my TV Buddy! Just sits right next to me and watches!

I don't think she was very thrilled with this program. Oh well.

I love my family! Tenley is now eating rice cereal and is starting to like it! She is just a cutie pie and we love her so much! I am so excited for the holiday season and seeing my little one grow up so fast! Before I know it she will be dating! Good thing Daddy has a shot gun!

Tenley Videos!!!!!

So here are some long awaited Videos of Tenley. They are a couple months old, but she is playing in her little bouncer that my friend Bri let us borrow. Tenley just loves it! She is growing up so fast! Yesterday she learned how to roll over! I just set her down on her back and she just flipped! It's like she has known how to do it forever and it wasn't a big deal to her! I did feel bad because one time she didn't make it all the way and hit her head pretty hard on our lamanite floors! oh well! She was ok! She is a big talker and LOVES to talk to anyone who will listen. Even at 11 o'clock at night! At least she doesn't fuss when we put her to bed at nine, but she doesn't fall asleep until later! I will post some pictures of our "family reunion" that we had last weekend.

Grandma Shar died last Sunday. We had her funeral last friday. It was an interesting week, but we had such a fun time with family and getting to see each other again! I was excited for Tenley to meet her Aunt Heather and Uncle Trevor! Lindsay also came up with Ava and Viviann and it was so cute to see Ava play with Tenley. They are going to be good friends! Even Viviann was nice to baby Tenley! They are so cute together as well! I am so happy that I have such a great family!

AND.... Lyle and I bought a car. We bought Grandma Shar's Subaru! I am super excited! It is all-wheel drive (and if you have ever been to my house you would understand why I am so excited!) and it will be a great car for us for years to come! I am seriously way excited! I will post pictures of the new car for everyone soon. Life is good! I am happy being a mom to the greatest daughter in the world!

The Vanimans and TIGGER too!!!

Yesterday Lyle, Tenley and I went to the Animal Shelter and bought a kitten!!!! Tigger is the newest member of the Vaniman family and we love her!!!She is about three months old and is already litter box trained! We need someone to keep the mice away and Tigger seemed to fit the bill. She loves to explore our cabin and we love having her around. I will post some pictures once I figure out how long that will take me with my dial-up connection, but for now it sufficeth me to say that she is a tabby cat with black and grey spots and stripes. She is really tiny, but we love her and she fits in so nice with the family. At the shelter they named her D-lectable, and we thought the name wasn't appropriate for our area. The bears might find out and eat her up, so we changed it to Tigger. It doesn't sound as inviting for our local wildlife! She is really good with Tenley and she is such a sweet kitty! We just love her!

My little girl is growing up!!!!

So Tenley is six weeks old today. She has been having some trouble gaining weight, but she is doing great now! The Pediatrician and I figured that I have skim milk and so she is a formula baby and has really stinky diapers, but she has gained 13 ounces in just four days! That's my girl! So just here is a preview of what she looked like and what she looks like now! Yay for formula!

before....

AFTER!!!

she actually fits into 0-3 month clothes and not newborn anymore! It's amazing! I love my baby girl!

Fourth of July

Aunt Lindsay and Aunt Heather got Tenley the CUTEST Fourth of July dress! I had to take pictures! It was a little cold outside, so we got Tenley dressed in her dress, her pink Uggs ( Thanks Linds!), and in her blanket made by Great Aunt Teresa! We went to church (Tenley didn't fuss until the opening prayer!) and saw Grandma play the Marimba! Then we saw the other Grandparents at a BBQ. I love food! It was a great holiday! Rain and all!

I know she looks nothing like me, but she is cute! Thanks mom for the awesome pants!!! I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Cousins Vacation

Mom and I went on a trip to Rexburg a couple weeks ago so Mom could get her hair done! I loved being able to tag along with my Tenners so she could meet her cousins! I was amazed at how big Viv had gotten and how mature Ava is! There is no tricking that little girl! When we got there Lindsay, Ava, and Viviann came down to meet us at the car. Lindsay took one look at Tenley and said, "Well Hello Lyle!". I guess Ava overheard that and remembered it because as soon as we got inside Ava was looking at Tenley and said. "How did Uncle Lyle get so little??"  We were all cracking up! It was a great vacation! Thanks so much Mom and Lindsay and Riley for your love and hospitality! I am sure our kids will get along better than Payson and Abby!!

Grandma and her "Headtinker" Song she taught Ava.

Aunt Lindsay and Tenley. This didn't last very long. Viv got a little jealous of her mom holding another child!

Miss Viv. She is so big and beautiful!!!!

She weighed so much more than Tenley, but she is SO CUTE! I can't get over her porcelain doll face!

I love Ava..... she is the sweetest girl ever!!!!

Viviann wanted her mom back. Fair enough!

Thanks for the good times!!!! We love and miss you guys!!!! We are excited to see you in September!!!

One Month and Loving It!!!

So Tenley is almost 6 weeks old! I can't believe it! Time has FLOWN by and I am adjusting well to life as a mother. For an update of the last month, Tenley has had trouble gaining weight. The Pediatrician and I finally decided that I have skim milk. After seeing TWO lactation consultants, FOUR pediatricians, TWO pediatrics offices and EIGHT pediatrics appointments, she is finally 7 pounds 6 ounces and doing well. I had to switch to a Sandpoint office because gas was getting ridiculous after just a couple weeks! Luckily though she is gaining weight and doing well. Maybe she will change faster now! Here are pictures of her that I have been delaying posting because she has been eating constantly! She would eat every hour to half hour and gain an ounce a week! Thank heavens for Formula supplementation!

All in all I love being a mom. I love being with my child and seeing her interact with me and her dad. It's amazing to know that this precious life was given to us to take care of and she is an awesome baby!!! I have a friend who has a three month old who is a SCREAMER and I just feel so lucky to have my baby! She isn't perfect, and can be super fussy sometimes, but she is such a sweet heart and has the softest cry ever! She doesn't like bath time, clothes changing time, or diaper changing time, but she is a sweet heart and we love her tons!

Tenley's first bath! She didn't like it so much!

She ALWAYS has her hands by her face!

She is a shrimp, but we love her chicken legs and arms!

She's always happy with her Daddy

                                                     I love this face!

She doesn't like her car seat very much!
