Fusion Card Challenge

There is a new Fusion Card Challenge and I was inspired to use the chalkboard technique and to feature a snowman as the focal point. I used the sketch as well and adhered a portion of a circle of vellum.

The background was white embossed on black paper then white pigment ink was lightly sponged randomly over the panel.

STAMPS: Holiday Spirit, Simply Snowmen (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versamark; Rocky Slope, Berrylicious, Grassy Knoll, Olive (Pinkfresh Studio); Pure Poppy, Orange Zest (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne by Tsuineko; Color Box "Frost White" pigment ink.
PAPER: True Black, White, Vellum (PTI).
DIES: Layered Snowflakes: Drift, Flurries, Simply Snowmen (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Distress Rock Candy by Ranger.

On a rather sad note, this is the last time to play along with the Fusion Card Challenge. Karren has been doing a fabulous job with keeping this challenge going for a long time but feels a need to step down. Thank you, Karren, for all you've done behind the scenes all these years!

To all my crafty friends, hopefully you will find time to play along with us in this busy season!                          ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

It's time again for a new Fusion Card Challenge. The inspiration photo with the holiday-themed tiered tray centerpiece led me to use Spellbinders' dies to decorate! The Tiered Tray and Tiered Tray Decor die sets were the starting point.

I then went through all my Christmas sets from Papertrey Ink and pulled a number of small elements that I thought would work. The sentiment is from Joyous Holiday. The string of lights is from Holiday House. The evergreen tree and pot are from Farm Fresh Trees. The candy cane, pine bough, poinsettia and holly leaves are from Corner It: Festive Holiday. The background of the trays was stamped using the Weathered Wood Background.

PAPER: White, Pure Poppy, Metallic Gold.
DIES: Tiered Tray, Tiered Tray Decor (Spellbinders); Mix & Mat: Postal, Holiday House, Farm Fresh Trees, Corner It: Festive Holiday by Papertrey Ink.
OTHER: Distress Rock Candy clear glitter by Ranger; Yellow Liquid Pearls by Ranger; Copics.

That's all for today. Hope to see you in the Fusion gallery!  ~Wanda

Fusion Strawberries

There is a new Fusion Card Challenge happening and I chose to go with the sketch plus was inspired by the yummy berries! It took me awhile to find some strawberries in my stamp stash, but I finally found this older set (2012) by WPlus9.

I found a new (to me) black ink that has AMAZING coverage so I only need to stamp it once! Typically with other black inks, I used my MISTI to stamp 2 or 3 times to get a clear, crisp black. I highly recommend Versafine CLAIR Nocturne pigment ink! I did find I needed to use alcohol to remove the ink completely from my acrylic stamps. I think it was on one of Jennifer McGuire's videos that I learned about this ink.

STAMPS: Fresh Picked (WPlus9).
INK: VersaFine CLAIRE Nocturne pigment ink by Tsukineko; Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado dye inks by Papertrey Ink.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; White, Pure Poppy (PTI)
DIES: Fresh Picked (WPlus9); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics, Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Moonshine sequins (PTI).
I hope you will be able to join us in this challenge! Remember...you have two weeks to enter. Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

It's time for a new Fusion Card Challenge! I went with the sketch plus I was inspired by the pumpkins in the photo. I used the Into the Blooms: Pumpkin dies from Papertrey Ink for the circle element. I let the patterned papers do most of the work in this layout.

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Fall Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: True Black, Canyon Clay, Classic Kraft, Simply Chartreuse, Olive Twist dye inks (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Lost and Found Halloween (My Mind's Eye); Rustic Cream (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Pumpkins (PTI); Banner Flags STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Oval punches (Stampin' Up).

So now it's up to you. Will you use just the sketch? Just the photo? Or will you fuse the two together for your entry? Hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

Hi crafty friends! Today is a new Fusion Card Challenge and I've used both the sketch and photo inspiration through colors and the leaf theme. Once again, I used the new Buckeye Leaf die from The Greetery to star as the focal point.

The lower portion of the background was color blended using Mint and Meadow inks from Pinkfresh Studio. The leaf was blended with Clementine and Berrylicious inks (Pinkfresh Studio) and Harvest Gold ink (Papertrey Ink). I stenciled the small dotted stencil (PTI) with Color Box Frost White pigment ink. The "greetings" sentiment was fussy cut.

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Fall Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: See above description.
PAPER: Moonlight Designer Series pad (Stampin' Up); Bristol Smooth Surface; Rust paper is from my scrap pile (? source).
DIES: Buckeye Leaf (The Greetery); Larger Than Life: Fall, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Dot stencil, Rain drop embellishments (PTI).

Hope to see you in the Fusion gallery! Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

How can it be the first day of September already?! It's time for another Fusion Card Challenge and this week's theme is all about pinwheels. I guess you could say I used a loose interpretation of the sketch on my card. I die cut then stenciled on each pinwheel and formed this colorful collage.

The sentiment was raised up with foam tape after inlaying the black words onto the white shadow background. The Postal Frame die is one of my all-time faves and you can't have a party without some celebratory moonshine sequins!

We'd love to have you play along with us! Remember, you have two weeks to get an entry posted. Happy stamping!  ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

Welcome back to another Fusion Card Challenge! It's a color palette this week with a "Seagull Beach" theme. I combined stamps from different sets and omitted the sketch this time. I used Pinkfresh Studio ink cubes for everything except the True Black ink (Papertrey Ink) for the sentiment.

I blended Ballet Slipper ink then stamped the clouds with more Ballet Slipper and some Coral Reef. The water was stamped with Ocean Breeze and Sky Blue. The sun was a combination of Lemon Whip, Sunshine and Sweet Mustard. The plants were stamped with Mint and Meadow inks. I used Metropolis and Misty Coast on the canoe and Rocky Slope for the ground in the foreground. The oars were stamped with Cocoa Bean ink from PTI.

STAMPS: Sunset Skies (The Greetery); Seas of Life, Scene Everywhere: At the Lake (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Crimped Frames (The Greetery).

We'd love to have you join us in this challenge! Happy stamping!

Fusion Card Challenge

Hi friends and welcome to a new Fusion Card Challenge! We have a beach theme happening in the tiered tray in the inspiration photo so, I was totally inspired by that as well as the great sketch! I went to some trusty stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink to complete my card: Salt Air Sentiments, Salt Air: Flora, Salt Air: Fauna.

The patterned papers are from the Beach Cottage 6x6" pad by Creative Imaginations. The card base is white heavyweight paper from PTI. Several of the images were popped up with foam tape to add dimension. Rain drop embellishments finished up the design.

INK: True Black, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, New Leaf, Limeade Ice, Berry Sorbet, Fine Linen, Honey Nut (dye inks by Papertrey Ink).

We would love to have you join us in the challenge. See you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Fusion Card Challenge

Hi friends and welcome to another Fusion Card Challenge! I used the awesome sketch plus was inspired by the florals & colors in the photo. It was perfect to highlight the Vintage Blooms stamps & dies and the Script stencil. I also used both of the circle stamps from Penciled Outlines to give a sweet detail to the white rectangle panel. These are all new items from the June release at Papertrey Ink.

The sentiment comes from the Effortless Beauties stamp from PTI and uses the "hello" theme from the photo. I added some Crystal Stickles along the lower portions of the blooms for a fun touch of sparkle.

STAMPS: Vintage Blooms, Penciled Outlines, Effortless Beauties (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Fine Linen, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Dark Indigo, True Black, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest (dye inks by Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: White, Dark Indigo, Bitty Big: Dark Indigo patterned paper (Papertrey Ink).

It's time again for a new Fusion Card Challenge and I hope you will find time to play along! I was inspired by the color palette and the red rose and decided to forego the sketch this time.

I colored the image with Copics after stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black on Bristol Smooth Surface paper. The strips and circles were cut with dies from the Master Layouts 08 die set from Gina K. Designs.

PAPER: Dark Indigo, Pure Poppy, Soft Stone, Blueberry Sky (PTI).

Fusion Card Challenge

Welcome to another Fusion Card Challenge! I was inspired by the shiplap background and with the florals and circles in the photo and also went with the sketch layout. It was perfect to break out the geranium and pot dies for another birthday card!

I played with some Brusho Crystal Colours this week and die cut the geraniums from a background using Orange and Alizarin Crimson. The leaves were die cut from Sea Green Brusho colors then sponged lightly with New Leaf and Ripe Avocado dye inks. I had splattered the orange panels with White Gouache prior to die cutting. I highlighted the veins on the leaves using a Prismacolor pencil and used a black gel pen to add the center dots to the flowers.

STAMPS: Barnwood Background (Concord & 9th); Sentiment Suite: Birthday (The Greetery).
INK: Soft Stone, Weathervane, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Soft Stone, White (Papertrey Ink); Ranger watercolor paper.
DIES: Pretty Pot and BotaniCuts: Geranium (The Greetery); Stitched Rectangle and Circle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).

We would love to have you play along with us. Remember...you have three choices: use just the sketch, just the photo, or fuse them together if you feel really brave! 😍  Happy stamping! ~Wanda
