Cupcake Inspiration

Hello friends! The new challenge for the Cupcake Inspiration challenge is to use pastel colors. I really love the soft peach, yellow and sage that these cupcakes represent! I went with an old favorite group of products from The Greetery for a thank you card.

For added dimension, I adhered two of the die cut sentiments together then I popped up the floral frame with foam tape.

STAMPS: Floral Arches, Arched Sentiments (The Greetery).
INK: Peach Fuzz, Sunkissed, Lemon Whip, Sunshine, Mint, Sage, Eucalytus (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (PTI); Plaids 6x6 pad (Recollections).
DIES: Floral Arches, Arched Sentiments (The Greetery).
OTHER: Floral Arches stencils (The Greetery).

School Days

Two of our grand children who live locally started school last Wednesday. That means Nana needs to come up with some teacher cards to have on hand! The Cupcake Inspirations Challenge has a school days theme, so I dusted off an old favorite Go To Gift Card Holder: Backpack stamp/die set by Papertrey Ink.

This card took me a LONG time to complete! The apple cover plate die must be faulty because I tried multiple times with different papers and using both my manual Big Shot and also my electronic Empress machines. Nothing would give me perfect cuts! I finally opted to just use it for embossing. I used Limeade Ice paper that matched the Granny Smith apple color. The tiny circle stamp for the paint box element was missing in action, so I had to go on the hunt for a circle elsewhere. I found an exact fit in the Holiday Wagon set (PTI).

STAMPS: Go To Gift Card Holder: Backpack Accessories (Papertrey Ink).

INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Limeade Ice, Cocoa Bean, Classic Kraft, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Amethyst Allure, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Sweet Blush, Blueberry Sky (PTI).

PAPER: True Black, Stamper's Select White, Limeade Ice, Lovely Lady, Razzberry Fizz (PTI); Metallic silver.

DIES: Go To Gift Card Holder: Backpack Accessories, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Cover Plate: Apples (PTI).

Eucalyptus

I pulled out a seldom used PTI stamp set to create a monochromatic card with a pop of green. This is for the Seize the Birthday challenge which has a topping to use your favorite color (mine was green!). It was also inspired by the current Cupcake Inspiration challenge to use green and white.

I wanted to add an element of texture to the background so I die cut the Delicately Woven die from PTI. This is a tricky one as it needs to have a shim added to the sandwich plus I had to turn it several times and run it through my Big Shot about 6 times before it cleanly cut all the intricate parts!

STAMPS
: Sentiment Suite: Birthday (The Greetery); Eucalyptus Elegance (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Harvest Gold (PTI); Versamark; Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint distress inks (Ranger).
PAPER: Vintage Cream (PTI).
DIES: Delicately Woven, Eucalyptus Elegance, Into the Blooms: Dahlia (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things); Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery).
OTHER: Queen's Gold embossing powder (Ranger).

That's a wrap for now. Thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Birthday Daisies

I wanted to play with a new (to me) Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and combined it with the Sunday Stamps Challenge which has a fun sketch on board!  I was purging some of my many ziplock baggies of leftover die cuts this morning, and was inspired to use these daisies from that stash after seeing the fun cupcake photo.

Part of the cleanup/purge process included finding a stack of panels from a Gelli roll painting session from 2-3 years ago!  I die cut two of them using MFT's Stitched Rectangle STAX die-namics and then cut a third one from white CS.  Since the green panel had a hint of gold in it, I used these leftover gold leaves and added some Sprightly Sprigs dies (Verve) in New Leaf CS (PTI).  The sentiment is from Verve's Poppy Birthday stamp set.
I pretty much depleted my stash of birthday cards, so this will help to build it up again.  Thanks so much for stopping by...

Cupcakes Inspiration

I was scouting around for some new challenges and found the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge that has this photo for inspiration and also has a watercolor theme. It was perfect to create a Father's Day card for my dad!

I was inspired by the green and blue cupcake (also my dad's favorite colors) and used Pelikan paints to create a watercolor wash over the white embossed Abstract Triangles background stamp by Simon Says Stamp.

I masked off a portion of an old sentiment stamp by Darcie's and paired it with the "happy" die (WPlus9's Happy Trio set).  I stacked two white dies then offset it over one black die to create a shadow effect.  I scattered a variety of stitched stars (Lil' Inker Designs) over the background.

Now I need to get this into the mailbox ASAP!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Heading out to work in a few minutes.

CAS Cupcake Inspiration

I created this card for the SCS CAS Challenge (to use Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, Night of Navy) and also played along with the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #200 where we can pick one of the previous 199 cupcake photos for inspiration. I chose challenge #51 with the butterfly and leaves theme (see photo on right). This 200th challenge has some incredible prizes being offered, so you'll want to check it out and play along HERE!

I used a butterfly embossing folder on the white panel. A couple of Verve banners (from the new "Remember This" set) topped with die cut leaves and new Verve flowers from the "Surely Goodness" set finish off this card.

STAMPS: Surely Goodness and Remember This - both by Verve PAPER: Night of Navy, White, Certainly Celery
INK: Night of Navy, Calypso Coral
ACCESSORIES: Sizzix Little Leaves die by SU, Goodness Flowers die set by Verve, Pearls, Butterfly EF, Corner chomper.
