Christmas Advent - CIP Style!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Tina here today.

I realize that the Christmas Countdown has already started, but if you haven't started your Countdown to the big day, or if you are looking for ideas for next year, today I'd like to show you my version of a Christmas Advent, CIP Style.

I wanted to create an easy (and quick) way to celebrate that yearly Christmas Countdown.

To start, you will need 25 white coin envelopes (available at your local office supply store), your favorite stamp, CIP Embossing Powder (in green and red), Embossing Ink, CIP Paint (in green and red), countdown numbers (I used number circle stickers from Pretty Little Studio), festive holiday paper and your favorite scalloped punch, several Christmas die-cuts (I used several from Pretty Little Studio), and an advent frame.  (mine is a Silhouette frame from several years ago).

Step One:   Heat Emboss coin envelopes with stamp and CIP Embossing Powder.

Step Two: Using water downed CIP paint, apply a 'wash of color' to each envelope.

Step Three:  Cut envelope in 1/2 and punch open edge with fancy scallop punch.
Staple Countdown number to outside of envelope.

Step Four:  Add Countdown 'present' to each envelope.  I typed up small sentiments and added to each envelope.

Step Five:  Hang daily envelopes and Christmas die-cuts on Advent Calendar.  Enjoy!

The great thing about creating this Advent Calender, is that the envelopes can be re-used next year, or if you are a scrapper, you can use them in your December Daily projects.  :)

I hope you enjoyed my project today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas!

Hi there! Emily here today with an art journal page I created using the great CIP colors that are on sale this month!

This month's colors, as a reminder are:

And the page I made...

I used my Gelli Plate with some of my favorite stencils along with Emerald, Evergreen, Garnet and Winter Frost CI Paints to create a background. After the background was created I traced my trees using a Dyan Reavely stencil and black marker. I completely covered everything but the trees with black soot Distress Paint.

An embossing pen along with some Deliquesce in Fine White  was used to go around the edges of the trees. to make them stand out. I love how the Deliquesce makes them POP!

The Dyan stencil has these cute lights along the edge for a border on both the small AND large stencil, so I used the smaller stencil on the corners with some modeling paste. After the modeling paste dried I colored the lights in Garnet, Evergreen and some Gold CI Paints.  They really look like shimmery holiday lights!

No Christmas Tree is complete without a topper, and so I grabbed some UmWow chipboard stars and covered them with Deliquesce in Super Sparkle Gold  to make them really shine!

I have to say, this page is one of my favorites. I don't know if you can see, but the CI Paints behind the Distress Paint, still show up! I love the texture that it gives! You can't create that on your own... it's a natural texture created by the two mediums because of their chemistry. You can still see some of the shimmer of the paints behind the Distress Paint, and even the color in some places. :)

If you get a chance, play around with the paints and other mediums, especially layering! It's a lot of fun! I do a lot of layering in my art journal, which is how I discovered this look.

I hope you have enjoyed my holiday journal page and play with your own paints!! Have fun and get messy!!

Love You Layout

Good morning one and all! Julianne here today to share a technique-filled layout with you. This entire layout was one big experiment, as I have never played with Creative Inspiration Paints before. Being new to the team, I did not know what to expect. So I just played. It was that simple.

I decided to start with embossing powder. I'm an embossing powder addict - I love the way it resists against paints and mists. I used the Crafter's Workshop 12x12 dots stencil, added some embossing ink, sprinkled it with the Platinum embossing powder, and blasted it with a heat gun. I then sprayed a couple of different mists to add a little colour.

I have used the Gold Crystal Sparkle embossing powder for my title.
I think it may be my new favourite colour, lol! I just adore the beautiful sparkle and shimmer that shows through once it has been heated.

I decided to try the paints on metal embellishments, and was pleasantly surprised. The paints give a gorgeous colour and pearl shimmer to the metal. The flowers in this image were originally white, silver, and gold metals.

I have added drops of paint to my layout for added texture and detail, and to help tie the layout together. I have also used the Sea Foam paint directly on the chipboard corner frames (Imaginarium Designs). I used two light coats of paint, and once it was dry, I coated it with Glossy Accents for even more shine.

Here are the colours I used on my layout:

And if you look closely, you'll see I have finished of my layout with Jewelled Inspirations in all 3 sizes. No matter how hard I try, I just cannot create a layout without adding a little bling!
And since I enjoyed this experiment so much, I think I'll go and make another one.
Now, which colours should I choose???

Thanks for joining me today. Hope you get creative too!

Cheers, xxx

"Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies..."

Hello Creative Inspirations Paint fans! Since the 4th of July is coming up and here on the blog Diana has the awesome Inspired By Challenge: Red, White and Blue going on, I thought I would do a little Red White and Blue project of my own.
Really, in this case it was take an old project and make it better. Last year did this mixed media piece using lyrics from "America, the Beautiful" and a fabric US Flag I made using acrylic paints and a piece of muslim. There was also some stamps, stickers and various patterned papers incorporated in the piece. I loved how it turned out, but never felt as though it was complete. I recently realized what I could do to finish the piece off.

Using some patterned paper I covered a wooden heart I had and then used Rustic Red and Denium around the edges of the papers and on the side of the heart. I took chipboard stars and used Deliquesce Fine White to cover them and adhered them to the heart. I took four additional chipboard stars, embossed them and added them to the corners of the canvas. The USA on the heart was made using some letter alphas which I embossed with Deliquesce Super Sparkle Red. It has a great sparkle!!

A close up of the added decorative heart. To give the stars on the entire piece more sparkle, I added Fairy Dust paint to each of the stars. To the four stars on the canvas, I also added a bit of Denium paint to the edges of each to help them blend into the original canvas. It helped pull the heart together with the canvas.

And the products from CI Paints used below:

You still have one week to join in the Inspired By Challenge: Red, White and Blue... come play!

Have a great day!!

Sparkling Coasters

Coasters are something in my home that are always needed. We try to not place our drinks directly on certain tables without coasters under them. Today I wanted to share a coaster I made using some Creative Inspirations Paint as well as some CI Embossing powder.  After seeing how well these turned out, I definitely plan on making more.

I painted a wood block with Burgundy paint from the center of the wood to the outside edge. I used Antique Copper along the outside edge of the wood. The two colors look so great blended together.

After the paints had dried I stamped the heart using Versamark and then used Deliquesce Metallic Copper embossing powder over it for this great metallic look. I used some gear stamps in the corners when I was finished. The only thing I have left to do to finish this coaster is to seal it. We can then start to use it.

Above is a close up of the embossing powder... I love the way it shines!! It really looks great with this stamp.

Below are the colors of paint and embossing powder used from Creative Inspirations Paint in my project today.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you've found inspiration in my project today and can see how you can make something as simple as a piece of wood into a wonderful piece of usable home decor. :)

Inspired By: Case It
We want to see your projects that are inspired by another,
whether it a project you previously did and are casing it with different colors or papers
 or
a project you are casing from another crafter..
Anything will do as long as you link your original inspiration in your post!

Here's some inspiration:
I cased a fellow crafter's card~
Amy from Tsuruta Designs
and you can see her card here
This is what I came up with...
I used all CI Paint embossing powder for this card....
Deliquesce Clear for the tag and for the heart
and Deliquesce Gold Crystal for the "u"
Here is a close-up of the embossing that I did....
WOW CI Paint has the BEST embossing powder...so very easy to use and the color that the Gold Crystal gives is something my picture just does not do it justice!!

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with this week's challenge!!
Remember you do not need to use CI Paints on your projects but if you have them we would LOVE to see how you used them!!
As always thanks for stopping by and
have a great week!

Happy Holidays this Friday!

Hi there CI Paint lovers! I hope you are all doing well on this Friday. Emily here with a holiday card I created using the gorgeous CI Paints. UPDATE: I have edited the photos since this was originally posted. I woke up this morning and took new photos so you could enjoy the way this card REALLY looks!!

Today's card was created using the Gingerbread Land collection by Nikki Sivils along with Chocolate, Mint, Spring Green and Rose Quartz paints in addition to Deliquesce Fine White Embossing Powder.

The close ups below show the paints and powder much better than the original. The only part of the card I used the paints on was the gingerbread girl. I decided since she was the focus of the card that I would use them on her. She looks so cute in person.:)

Below are all of the Creative Inspirations Paint products used in the card today.

Thank you for stopping by on this Friday! I will see you soon!

Inspired By: Anything Goes
Here's some inspiration:
A sweet dimensional apple for my hubby :)
I am sure you know by now how much I LOVE CI Paints embossing powders...
My project uses the Deliquesce Clear embossing powder for the sentiment.
I stamped my image using Versamark and Distress Ink then cover it all in the clear embossing powder...
Heat it up and the results are awesome!
I also used CI Paint in Sage to paint the leaf..
Adds just that little extra shimmer I was looking for!!

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with this week's challenge!!
Remember you do not need to use CI Paints on your projects but if you have them we would LOVE to see how you used them!!
