Playdough perfume

My favorite time of day these past few weeks has been nap time. Eden will still take naps and before Kale was born I used to lay down with her and we would both fall asleep. Things had changed though and until yesterday, I would sing her a song and then she would say "Okay, you go now mom." I must admit I missed laying down with her, but interested in getting some good rest myself I didn't argue. Well yesterday she didn't say that, she let me cuddle right next to her. Just before she fell asleep she rolled facing me and wrapped her chubby little arms around me and smothered me with kisses, it was the perfect moment. As she fell asleep I laid there and thought about how much I love this little girl. I nuzzled in for one more hug ready to go to my own bed and she smelled just like playdough. The smell got me thinking about being little, then I thought about how she'll probably give up naps altogether this upcoming year, and I decided to stay and nap right there with her, I will miss this when it's gone, smells and all.

Updated family photo

So, apparently all it takes to have a baby nowadays is to post a picture of yourself on your blog and to tell everyone you are finally ready. My last post was just that, and that night I woke up to go to the bathroom and found that my water broke also. So exciting...

Then nothing, contractions didn't start. We went into the hospital around 4am, and I could have easily asked to be started but I still wanted to start on my own. Darrin and I started walking around 8am and walked until I wanted to drop, then we kept walking, and still nothing. I finally gave in and they gave me a pill that starts contractions. 4 hours later nothing. I was beginning to hate the hospital and I definitely hated walking. I am making it sound too bad, overall the waiting wasn't too bad, I got to be with Darrin all day (uninterrupted conversation even), I got a little daytime tv in (not so much into Oprah anymore, I decided) and I found out that the food isn't that great, but at least it was free (till we get the hospital bill). Around 6pm my contractions finally started, and then things moved very quickly. Our beautiful baby boy was born...

Sisterly love
The girls have adored him, Jaya will not put him down, Baylie and Eden have seriously probed and prodded him past the point of irritation and he just takes it all, what a little man!

Proud new Daddy
