Special Baby Frame

Morning peeps. I made this last week I thought you would like to have a look. So much has been done to alter this piece of wood. It's been painted, crackled, distressed painted again lol and I hope it shows. I made this for a new baby. I have decorated it all over.

And it comes with a gift card to match. I have left a space in the centre for the special little one to be the focus of the piece.

Love these papers that cover the back such a lovely theme. Any way this is also in my Folksy Shop Thanks for stopping by again. Love Dawn xx

Baby Vintage (look) box

Hello, Well It's finally finished, and I am happy with it. I tried all sorts before I came to this finished product. My cousin (Helen) had her first child last week A little boy who they have named Leo William. oh and what a beautiful boy he is. They didn't know the sex as they decided to have a surprise. I was going to go all pink if it was a girl, but as he's a boy I really didn't want to do blue it just didn't look right and I wanted a Victorian vintage shabby kind of feel with out it looking tacky (I know) that's why it took months to do!

Here's the outside, this was one of those bare pine boxes I used gesso to cover it all (a couple of coats) then I used Laura Ashley paint 'Creamware' isn't it lovely Added some wonderful brade trim some stamps and clear embossed them. My gold pen to colour the hinges and fastening. On the top I used some vintage lace and a Victorian photo of a baby boy and also edged it with some pearl & ribbon trim to frame the photo, it just looked too bare on it's own.

Finally in side I used some wonderful paper so lovely from Graphic 45 I love the sheets I bought (defo have the strokeability factor ha ha) Know I just need to think what to put in side. ( a voucher for the baby at least) but I wanted to put some baby things in of a vintage nature like an old nappy pin with blue enamel top (for a boy) any other suggestions I am really struggling here HELP! as I really want to get this off in the post by the end of next week. I really hope you like my baby box. Have a lovely Tuesday. Love Dawn xx

Altered Baby vest's

I have spotted a challenge that this will fit into nicely over at By the Cute & Girly these wee vest are for new born babys. Hi, we're having an auction at our church on Friday, along with these there will be lots of other things I am making to acution off too, (may put some up) all for a good cause. I have made some of these vest's for a baby shower too, as they are so simple to do I bought two packets of baby vest from ASDA for £1.50 you get three vests (how cool is that?) and I know that they will be well recieved at the shower and I am sure bring a few pounds to the good cause we are raising money for.

I then started to stamp with some SU stamps & inks. I am told they wash well if you heat set the ink, (just iron the image, first put some greese proof paper over the top, Iron, leave to cool and then it's set) I think they look so cute and a wee bit special. So why not have a go? always baby's being born and you can make a perfect gift, why not make a matching box to put them in too? and of course a card ;0)Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

Items Used: All Stampin' Up! and pk of three baby vest.

Baby Shower card 2

I went to see AVATAR 3D last night. It's a MUST SEE! Gosh 3D has come a long way, and this film is a visual joy. So much to see in Pandora (planet film set on) so pretty and such a great culture. But does bring to mind all the times one civilisation has gone to another and taken every thing because they have guns (makes me ashamed to think of how we (human beings) can treat others because they have something we want. Gosh we are still doing it now! Any way this is a fantastic film go see it!

Here is another baby shower card. I am more comfortable with stamped images lol think that's just me I prefer this one, although I don't know if it will pass my sisters critical eye!

Isn't this image delish? not seen any one else with this yet why oh why? although not completely sure about the back ground colouring. I thank you for all looking any way.

I haven used this EF for a while very baby oriented with a different sentiment this would make a nice new baby card too. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Stamps Image Stampavie, Tina Wenke & sentiment Studio G. Card Stock, bazzil & SU. DP Basic Grey. Cuttle bug EF coloured with Copics.

Baby Shower

Hi every one. This is a commissioned card for my sister, her friend is having a shower for her up coming baby. Don't know many people in the UK that have these. Another Americanism that has crossed over to us in the UK. I like the idea of a baby shower though would of loved to have one for my children but sadly my baby is now 16 and I do not intend on having any more just for a few pressies lol.

I am using this card for a challenge as I used the sketch from Mojo Monday Some great examples again I like this side ways too! Here is a close up of the teddy, I know no stamped image here. I wonder if there is a challenge for that? lol this is a rarety for me not to use stamps.
I am loving the sentiment and the papers too, it's nice to do something for some one and this has been a challenge in it's self to do one for a baby shower! any visitors done baby shower cards I know I have a few visits from the USA why not let me know if you have made one I would love to see what you have come up with as I have never made one before. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx
