Christmas Morning

We had a nice Christmas again this year.  Even though the kids are getting older, they still are NOT sleeping in on Christmas!  Ryan and I were still putting things out at midnight when Ashley fumbled up the stairs.  Ryan is a firm believer in Santa and so he did not want her to see us.  He was hiding in the kitchen, I was in our bedroom.  We hid out for a while and watched her.  She looked at her things and then just sat on the floor taking it all in.  She just stared at the shining tree and all the sparkly new toys.  She is definitely our methodical child!  She finally went back down stairs and we finished our jobs and then went to bed.  Everyone was up and ready to go at 5:30!

I always like to take pictures of the aftermath.  It’s the only time I can feel happy about a big mess I guess!

Christmas Eve

Sara hosted Christmas Eve this year.  We had our traditional CafĂ© Rio for dinner.  It is always a treat!  The kids performed the Nativity for us.  They are getting good at understanding and knowing what to do as they get older.  We were glad to not be totally sick this year, just mildly sick!  Rett had it, Kaleb was getting it, and a few of the others were coughing around.  Overall it wasn’t too bad for sickness though.

Claire got to be Mary and we had a real live baby Jesus this year!

Snowy and Cold

We moved into a cold snap the day we had Wynn and still havent warmed up.  The kids have been braving the 2 degrees to go out and sled.  We cant find any snow pants to fit Rett so he has been wearing his pants like dad.  I need to go look for his bibs, but don’t want to!  We are happy to have the snow but would love to get above freezing in the day…. above 15 would be nice too!  It is really cold!

Little Mommy

The hospital sent us home with a dvd that Claire insisted we watch.  It was interesting, but the only thing I really liked was the way they showed us how to swaddle.  It is awesome!  So Claire and I swaddled our babies nicely and Wynn stayed tucked in all night.  So did brown babySmile

Claire loves all of this baby stuff.  So does Emma.  They both want to hold, burp, walk around with Wynn.  Im having a hard time wanting to share him.  He really is so sweet.  I hope he stays this nice.  He will.  Im so glad to have so many good helpers!

Home

I am pretty sure no baby has been touched, poked, held, and loved on as much as this one!  We all cant get enough!

So far he has been very patient with us and is a sweet sweet baby.  Just what I ordered!

Its unanimous, we will keep him!

Going Home

We are always anxious to get out of the hospital and head home.  This time was no different.  Everything checked out well and so home we went!

He looks so chubby in these pictures but he really is a tiny little squirt.

I do love his dark hair.  We had voted earlier on about what color his hair would be and we all agreed he should have dark hair like dad.  We are glad he complied!  Plus now we really have a kid with every color of hair!  He traveled home like a champ.  He is a good baby.

Wynn Michael

Wynn was born Thursday, November 13th on a cold snowy morning!  He entered the world much like the rest of his siblings quickly and perfectly!  We feel so blessed to have this new little boy in our family.

IMG_2674

My labor was two hours and 5 minutes, he was born at 12:25 pm.  I thought I would text the grandmas after my water was broken to let them know, but the contractions came right away (unlike past deliveries it has taken an hour to get going)  I didn’t feel much like calling anyone at that point!  Thankfully he came quickly so we could let everyone know.

He came out with a shrill scream!  He had meconium in the water so the respiratory therapist and nurses were ready to take him away  I am pretty sure they heard him scream and knew he wouldn't be needing any assistance with his lungs!

IMG_2676

They didn’t even take him from  me once which I loved, until I couldn’t stand not knowing how much he weighed.  He looked so tiny!

IMG_2679

He weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces, just right!  He was 20 inches long.

Another miracle that happened we discovered after he was born a full “true knot” in his cord.

IMG_0315.JPG

It was very scary to see.  Our midwife had seen one before but the nurses had not.  We were so fortunate that it did not kink of his nutrients or we would have had a completely different outcome.  I know he was healthy and fine because of all the prayers we prayed while I was pregnant with him.  We prayed for him every time we said a prayer, I am so grateful now!  What a little miracle he is!

Dinner Cruise

We got a big group of friends together and went down to Hagerman for a dinner cruise on the Snake River.  We had a great time!  The weather was warm and the scenery and company were the best!
