Snow 2011

John liked the snow, but he wasn't so fond of his puffy outfit he had to wear in the cold weather.

Since our driveway and yard are so steep, we had lots of neighborhood friends stop by to sled with JH.

Bubbles Everywhere!

We have waited all day for snow to fall, and it has finally come! It's now the end of the day and time for John Hall to wind down for the night, but carry him out for a second to take a couple of pictures. He kept calling the falling snow "bubbles" and was trying to catch it in his hands. It was so sweet! We can't wait for the sun to come up tomorrow to play in the snow!

You can never count on the weather forecast when it comes to winter weather, but this time they were right! We made a pot of chili and we're ready for our bubble day...

Dangers of the Dark

This morning around 5:30, I heard JH on the monitor and wasn't ready to get up for the day. I put him in bed with us in hopes we could get another hour of sleep. John wouldn't get settled, so I decided to change his diaper figuring that would do the trick. He always has a full (and strictly) pee-pee diaper in the morning. I didn't turn on the light and changed him in the bed. I laid back down beside him and felt the poop all over the sheets!!! It was so gross and totally my fault. We all had to get up at that point and clean everything up...

JH loves to play on the bed when the sheets are in the wash. He doesn't like for you to make the bed when the sheets are dry and cries when he has to get down so you can finish the job...life's so tough!

AND...yesterday morning, Jason got up at 4:30 to go on a long run, so he was pretty tired last night and went straight to sleep while I was in the hearth room. In an effort to be quiet and not disturb him when I was getting ready for bed, I decided to not turn on any lights when I washed my face and brushed my teeth. Things are always in their usual place and I know what they feel like, so I figured "no problem." We usually buy toothpaste in the sort of container below, but we bought a different kind of tube with a flip top. I grabbed what felt like was the new toothpaste, squirted some on my toothbrush, and started to brush my teeth...only it WASN'T Crest, but rather Balmex! Why the Balmex was on the bathroom counter, I couldn't tell you. I can tell you that I wouldn't recommend it as a toothpaste, YUCK!

I am very lucky that I don't have to rely on my sense of touch for day to day life! I would be in some serious trouble!

He did it, he did it!!!

For months, John Hall has shown an interest in his parent's potty activity. We figured we should go ahead and start the conversations about those bodily functions to lay a foundation for potty training down the road. He likes to flush the potty and wave bye-bye to it's contents (man, this is hard to write without being gross!) Last week, I decided to go ahead and buy a potty to sit in his bathroom. He has played with it, but hasn't shown any interest in sitting on it (I never thought he would this early...I just bought it to further the conversations about the potty). Tonight, Jason was using the toilet in his bathroom, and JH took off his diaper and acted like he wanted to sit on his own potty. Jason sat him down, called for me to come and see, and he pee-peed in the potty!

Yea for John Hall!


Bye-Bye pee-pee!!!

After his big pee-pee, he tried to take off his diaper. He told Jason "no diaper." I am quite certain we're not ready for that, but he seems to have a happy attitude about the process....
