Tennessee Christmas

We enjoyed a week in Tennessee with my parents and family. We drove down Sunday, after a big snowfall and before another big fall. Monday, and Tuesday we finished christmas shopping/wrapping. Christmas eve we went to the Clarks(Jon and Jen) and enjoyed pizza and appetizers, and put on the towels and headbands for the christmas nativity. Then the children all opened pjs to go home and go to bed for santa to come. On our way home dad invited us to carol to the Babbs home. The true meaning of Christmas was felt as we visited a widow all alone christmas eve and sand "happy birthday to her" as her birthday was to be on Christmas. That evening we wrapped presents and watchd the Christmas Vacation. We thought Christmas morning would come early, but the children all had fevers and colds. We finally pulled them out of their beds around 10am. Of course we gathered in the basement, sang Christmas songs (Preston shouting and coughing to Allen-"5 GOLDEN RINGS!"), read scriptures and had prayer. Then we lined up on the stairs youngest to oldest and waited for the christmas songs to play. The children were so happy with their gifts and Uncle Allen and Tony were happy to help them play with them (nerf guns). It was a relaxing day. And later Charity and James, Charles and Mary, Jon and Jen and kids all came over for christmas dinner.
The weather was great, and even got warmer as we were there. Ryan, Tony and Allen replaced the old boards on the deck. Preston, Weston, Maddy and Mason went rock climbing up the chimney and also hunting for treasures. And I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Jen and Mom. We were so grateful to be there! Thanks for having us! Ryan Maureen and fam

Christmas Party 2008

Pajamas please! We had our second annual Corless Christmas party "candy canes and reindeer games". Everyone entered via the mistletoe with a quick picture taken. Then it was off to the taste contest (generic vs. name brands) and "the price is right (too high or too low)". Pictionary, name that tune, and mock elections (Mr. and Mrs. Claus, santa's naughty list, and the best toy inventor to name a few). Thanks to everyone who brought treats and food! Hope you all had a great time, Merry Christmas!
Love,
Corless'

Okay we have to confess!!!

This is what has been taking over our lives for the past 16 days! Sadly, I think we've played between 17-22 games and only missed 2 nights. Why are we so addicted? Why are we zombies? Why are we putting the kids to bed and staying up till midnight or sometimes 2 am?! Why do we think, trade and dream in Catan? It's come to an end, unless,. . . . Dan and Lara-are you in?! (we might need the expansion pack).

Sugar Cookies and Caroling

Last week we made sugar cookies in preparation for our caroling to our neighbors with the Kulka's this past Sunday. The kids had so much fun riding in Ryan's truck, and running from house to house singing "we wish you a merry Christmas"(I wish I had pictures of that!) The weather was perfect, and the company great! The Nicols from our ward even joined us!

Let it snow!

The Kulka's had come over for haircuts, and it was snowing! After some bacon, ham and cheese sandwiches from Ryan, they all bundled up and
played foot ball, made snowmen, and enjoyed the snow! And after the snow- hot chocolate!

Preston's bed

This was how preston's bed was made one snowy day. I thought it was so sweet of him to tuck in his bear!

day after thanksgiving. . . .

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas! : )

Thanksgiving week!

We thoroughly enjoyed having David and Jana and family come visit us during the Thanksgiving week. Preston and Jacob could hardly sleep the night they were comming in town. As per Peter, we ate waffles every day! Saturday night was Tyler Kulka's party, Sunday we went to church and afterwards played games at the Skeehans. Monday FHE was full of thankfulness and making pilgrim/indian costumes (we copied you Chloe-thanks for the idea!!)and ate icecream treats. Tuesday we joined the Kulka's at Rio wraps and the Detroit Temple. Wednesday was full of feast preparation-thank you Jana for helping with the pies! We also enoyed a fablous Famous Dave's dinner that we didn't have to prepare or clean up!! (thankyou again Dave and Jana-it was a great idea!) And of couse Thursday was full of football, stuffing ourselves with food, a Thanksgiving skit ;), and games which the Kulka's hosted (thankyou!) We had a great teaser for Christmas holidays, now if only we can make it until then. Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.
