Christmas Celebrations 2012

I have high hopes to stay on top of my blog from now on.  Now that I say that, it will NEVER happen, but worth a shot.

LAST night we started our Christmas celebrations with the ONLY place to start.  TEMPLE SQUARE!  We had such a good time, and we especially loved the "warmer" weather we are enjoying in these parts.

We meet the Stevenson's and ate at the Blue Lemon, and trotted over to all the fun that the Square provides. The idea here is that we are starting this season off with "The Reason for the Season."  Hopefully, it will set the tone.

Love

Rose!

Sister missionaries singing

My FAVORITE tree on the square!  Orange and glowing:)

Macy's has candy windows!  So fun, look at Hank's face.  (what a turkey)

Ruby was sweet, she said, "Mom, are we going to go to Heaven to see Jesus?"
My response, "No Ruby, we don't have to go to Heaven, we can always have him with us.  All we need to do is be still."
Ruby, "Oh."  (with much disappointment.)  I guess my response would have been better if said to a child old enough to understand:)

The other day she asked me if Santa Claus is coming to town.  I LOVE her innocence!

Thanksgiving 2012

This year Thanksgiving was at my mom's.  We had a great year filled with yummy food, great company, and Dodge ball!

We have a tradition that on the night before Thanksgiving we eat Chinese food.  This year we gathered at our house for Chinese food and games.  It is a really great tradition!  When we are all "off" for this holiday we can still gather for Chinese food.

The kids place setting!  So fun:)

My girl

Hanging out!

This year for my dad's birthday we gave him a smoker.  He smoked the turkey, and it was delish!

My mom has the best rolls on this planet!

My mom's house was decorated perfectly and smelled of yummy food.  The kids enjoyed a day of playing outside, and playing on the iPad.  (I didn't not regulate the time played on it)  Fun for all!

Pulled tooth

Hank was born with an extra tooth.  We had to get it pulled this week cause it was crowding the others that were trying to come in.  Have you ever seen anything so big in all your life?  Seriously that thing was NEVER going to fall out!
My finger is there to reference the size of the tooth.:)

Federation

Hank and Ruth did a duet Federation competition for the first time this year.  They did great!  They both go superiors.
Hank and his partner Grace warming up.  I was so impressed by him!  Love his little mug.

Where has the time gone.  These two have been friends since they could walk!  Before we know it they will be driving...Cute girls.

November Tradition

Every year for the whole month of November we each write what we are thankful for on a post it note and put it on the coat closet door. We add to it everyday.  Each of us have our own color so we know who's is who's.  The kids really enjoy this, and they are good at helping us to remember.
I am thankful for an entire month to be thankful.  There is so much to thank God for and my children NEED to see that.

Family Pic's

So excited about the pictures, just wanted to post them:

We turned her hair into a spider

Colin NEVER disappoints

We have an annual party at my mom's for Halloween.  It has gotten to the point that I can't wait to see what the men come up with.  Colin has not disappointed me yet.  I laughed so hard I cried.  For being so uptight, he can really make us laugh.
My dad is a boy scout, and Colin is me in high school!!

Zach is wear a unitard!

SO...he couldn't zip it up so you get this shot from the back.  Scary cause he's wearing whitey tighty's!
I didn't get Ash and Spencer but they were pretty funny.  They came as there elementary school pictures with the lazer background and side ponytail!

Hank has been on scouts for a minute now, and we are slowly getting the hang of it.  He earned his bobcat at his fist pack meeting.  He is so darling.
