I really think I need to get better at actually posting these blog updates before three of them stack up on me and then I try to post. Uploading pictures has become a huge hassle on here for some reason so that is usually my lame excuse for not doing it like I should.
This week was good. Monday was the beginning of our very first week in a month that wasn't booked so solid that I could actually take a deep breath and ask my kids what they would like to do for a change rather than run off a laundry list of the things that absolutely HAD to be accomplished in that day! What sweet relief that was for all of us!
We enjoyed a few trips to the pool and some time with friends thoughout the week. We had Laura Turner over to play on Wednesday so we went to the pool all morning and then had to cut Alayna's nap short in order to drop Laura off and make it to the doctor on time for Miss Alayna. The doctors visit did not go well. I ended up walking out of the office really feeling like a heel as a mom and without a single answer or idea as to the reasoning behind Alayna's swings in blood sugars. So thanks to an amazing husband who really helped talk me down after being so upset we tried talking to some other resources. We were again left with no answers other than that is is highly unlikely that she is a diabetic (thank you I already figured that part out!). Anyway the ultimate question was "why are her numbers (blood sugar levels) fluctuating so much in a short amount of time?" but no one really has any answers so for now we are going to continue watching her and as long as she continues to grow as she should be then we will not worry about it and we'll just keep feeding her all the time like we already do!
Saturday we had the special privilage of taking our whole family to the Denver LDS temple to tour the temple grounds. The girls were very well behaved even if their attention spans are still a bit short for long tours they did do a wonderful job of walking around reverently and participating where they could. I was glad to have been able to be there to share that special place with my girls! I hope and pray that they will find as much joy there as I have! That evening Grandma Merritt was so awesome that she took the girls so that Ben and I could go on a date! We went to Dave and Busters (it's like a grown-up version of Chuckie-Cheese) and played games all night! I had so much fun even if Ben killed me in almost all of the games! The tickets we won we ended up giving to some random kid who seemed pretty excited by it even though it was only about 50 tickets!
Sunday I subbed in the Sunbeams class (that is Eliza's class) It was a lot of fun and I am planning that next week will go much better! I made a couple of major sunbeam mistakes that I hope to not repeat again... #1 I didn't take snacks! (Duh!) and #2 I forgot to give the kids a potty break and we had adorable little dancers for the last 5 min of class... poor kids! Next time I wont forget!
