why?
There was a moment today when I looked around at the chaos that was my home and wondered, "What can I do about this Heavenly Father?... Just help them all be ok."
Shailee...my sweet&spicy beautiful, wonderful, goal oriented, take charge girl who is so much help to me. How I want to find a quiet moment to chat with her about school and friends and help her with her homework and tell her how impressed I am with all her grand designs for her life. Hyrum...his gorgeous smile and deep, deep eyes, my incredible, serious, quietly mischievous, peacemaker boy. How I want to run through the grass at the park with you and kick a soccer ball together and sit on the couch reading books and take the time to answer all of your questions. Cooper...my joyful soul with your loud, boisterous, enthusiastic, zest for life. How I want to play candy land and sword fight with you and make a giant finger painting mess with you and laugh at all the fun our world has to offer. And Edith...my newness, my tiny precious pink thing, eyes holding all the mysteries fo the world you just arrived from. How I want to bask in the beauty of your spirit fresh from the presence of God and curl up with you on my chest and just listen to you breath.Part of me wonders why I brought you here so close together in years. Have I robbed you of that one on one time we might have had? But the bigger part of me knows that I wanted you to have eachother. There are wonders and adventures to be had among siblings. The magic of childhood, the secrets of our beginnings are shared with those our first and forever playmates, and that is what I wanted for my babies. So Edi will be comforted in the arms of her capable eight-year-old sister while I cook dinner. Her sister will be there to comfort her in ways I cannot in the years to come. And though Cooper is disassembling Hyrum's prized Lego aircraft in the other room in an attempt to participate in Hyrum's playing. Hrum in his calm, patient way, though he is frustrated with his free-spirited younger brother, will find some way to play with him. In all their differences they will learn preious truths of friendship in the years to come. There is a reason for it all and madness though it seems at times, I would not undo it.

Giving Thanks
Shailee and Hyrum stayed up late on Wednesday to help make pies. Thursday morning we went to my grandparents home for a nostalgic jaunt in the leaves, one of my favorite traditions as a child. Then it was on to my parents house for some fabulous company and food. So glad to have had the upbringing I did and to be surrounded by and connected to such amazing people.
Hyrum's Birthday
Hyrum enjoyed his birthday very much. He wanted to have some really special for lunch that day: Chicken nuggets. For his party, we gathered up some random kids in the ward and snatched up some cousins and headed out to Alena Gallegos Open Space for some pizza, hiking, cake eating, pinata bashing and serious fun.
Finding out that Hyrum was going to be a boy seems like it was just last week. We are so grateful for his love and loyalty. He knows what makes him happy and strives to have that with him all the time. How blessed we are to have him in the family setting a great example of kindness and love. Happy Birthday to you Hyrum!! 5 years old and counting forward.

Here is a few moments of the Halloween spirit that captured the hearts of the Blair family. Cooper was a lumber jack and a doctor. Shailee was a ballerina and a ballerina superhero. Hyrum was cowboy and a cowboy on a horse. Amandalynn was pirate and a forest fire. Cole was a brazilian firefighter. His beard hadn't been shaved since late August and wore it half shaven all day at work where he got many different responses and lots of praise for creativity. His neuro surgeon pumpkin and brain surgery patient pumpkin were a big hit for multiple days in the hospital.
