Free Money

You are probably thinking right now that the words "free" and "money" do not go together. I didn't think so either until I met Cody. Cody is absolutely SOLD on this concept. Let me explain the most recent situation where this has occurred. Since moving out here we switched car insurance companies. I cancelled the policy only to see on my bank statement the next month they had withdrawn the money. So after a huge hassle and a bunch of phone calls I got the situation straightened out. The insurance company now owes us a refund. Which of course they cannot deposit the money directly into my account, they have to send my a physical check. So after about 4 weeks we finally received our check in the mail yesterday. This is what Cody considers "free money". So he has been plotting how to spend this excess of money when I bring him down to reality and say, "WE PAYED THIS MONEY OUT IT'S NOT FREE!" For some reason he refuses to think that this is money we earned. We usually have the same problem with tax returns. Can someone please explain to my husband that money is not free??!

Happy Anniversary

We have been married 3 years today! Every day has been full of surprises, lots of laughter, and even adventure. It's been a wonderful 3 years and I look forward to many more! So 3 things I love about Cody are:

1. By far the funniest person I know! We spend most of our days laughing 2. He is smart in everything. At school, around the house, with money, etc
3. His personality. Cody is so impatient he can't wait for anything. If I buy
anything sweet as soon as he finds out about it the whole thing is gone.
If I buy a gift for him I can't even tell him because he will nag me to death
until I tell him what it is or let him have it.

Cody is certainly one of a kind and I love everything about him!

Unemployed

I am officially unemployed. My last day of work at Platinum was yesterday. I don't think the reality of it all has really set in yet. The last nearly 5 years of my life I have spent working at security companies. Day in and day out it has been contracts, reps, techs, and all their problems that I was trying to solve. So it will be a little weird for me next week when I am not dealing with any of those things.

Yesterday we went to lunch for my last day. I chose Sizzler because I was seriously craving their shrimp. While we were standing in line I was talking to Kevin (the controller). He started talking to me about the flights and asking if they were hard for me with the motion sickness. I was so lost in the conversation and I had no clue what he was talking about. So then he goes on to say well when my wife was pregnant she got pretty sick on the flights.... I quickly interrupted Kevin and said I am not pregnant. It was pretty funny. He felt horrible! He said he thought he heard from someone else that I was and that was why I was quitting. Then he went on to say how I didn't look pregnant so he thought that was weird. But in the end we had a good laugh about. As well as the rest of my co-workers who were at lunch.

At lunch Jared (my boss) stood up and announced they had a gift for me. I was surprised, I was not expecting anything. Well with a lot of help from T-Ray (a co-worker) they gave me a basketball signed by all the Utah Jazz players, and a Deron Williams jersey that was signed by D-Will!! It was such a perfect gift!! Anyone who knows me knows that I love D-Will and the Jazz! I was thrilled. I knew Cody would be excited as well. So I kept it a secret from him until he picked me up from the airport last night. Then I showed him what they had given me. I am pretty sure I am going to frame the jersey and put it in my living room, it would be a good addition to the decor.

I had such wonderful people that I worked with at Platinum. I will miss seeing a lot of them on a daily basis. But I am excited to officially be in Oklahoma and here with Cody. I think he was starting to get lonely here without me when I was gone. He sure likes being taken care of when I am here. And he likes my cleaning. I am not sure he has lifted one finger to clean anything while I have been gone!
