Harry the 9 Month Old

It has been a wild and crazy last few weeks. Since school has started for me, I feel like it has been a whirlwind! I miss staying home with him, but love my job. I think I have changed more than Harry has since school started. I soak up every free moment with him and the moments where I don't have any one to take care of, like when I am on "vacation" shopping. We are really beginning to see Harry's personality shine through. He definitely take after me by, getting his energy from people. He spent some much needed time with Mimi and Papa yesterday. They insisted Chad and I went out on a date, after the offer we were given 6 free Razorback tickets, in prime seats; it was perfect timing! Harry would not sleep, he was so excited to spend time entertaining them, he forgot to rest! He is such a blessed baby to have so many fans!
That leads me to another personality trait, his ability to make others smile. A large group of kids at church get a kick out of making him dance, do you remember the "Go Harry" video? Well he still can shake it when he is being cheered for! It is so funny, today at church he had a crowd, adults included cheering for him and he was not shy...even in the CofC he let loose his classic dance moves! Let's hope he is not a born rebel!
He is very independent, he does very well at day care. I am able to visit him everyday, I am the only mom who comes to visit. The teachers seem like they don't mind, and Harry hasn't started throwing fits when I leave yet. Anyway, he is refer ed to as the "Leader of the Pack" in his class by the teachers and directors. He is the only one walking, they have mentioned moving him up, this makes me kind of sad. I am hoping there won't be any room and he will have to stay were he is. I love his little class and adore his teachers. They know him so well, it is so interesting to hear what they say about him. He is crazy about a Baby Elizabeth, she is a few weeks younger and always has a ponytail! They say he will walk across the room to pull her hair. He is also a paci thief...that may explain the virus he got. They say he is very independent and plays well by himself, he even shares. I am kind of obsessed with this whole sharing thing, it is so annoying to me when parents actually take a toy away from another child and give it back to their kid. I just don't think it is a big deal, Harry can get another toy and if that child's parents need to teach them to not snatch. I could go on and on about this, can you tell I have learned this from personal experience? Harry doesn't steal yet, but when he does I won't go ask other babies to give Harry's toys back. Enough said.
He is crazy about certain people, it is funny who he will give loving on.
He has been babbling a whole lot more. He will talk gibberish all the time! It is so funny!
He has 6 teeth and is eating almost everything pretty well. His favorite food at the moment is yogurt and nutragrain bars....both I despise. I usually let him eat those at school.
While watching him grow, I see God building this amazing child everyday. I have been in prayer that he takes his strengths and does great things with them and uses his weakness as lessons to grow from.
He loves people, I pray that he always loves everyone and never thinks of himself as better than anyone else.
I pray he takes his father's humility and puts himself before others always.
Still an adventurer, I pray he take sthe path God has for him, and finds joy and excitement in the good in the world and stays as far away from the bad!
He has a gentle spirit, my mom thinks since he is so sweet he may not be aggressive enough to play sports! I hope he keeps his gentle spirit to attract people and is a encouragement to everyone.
I also pray that Harry makes good friends, I believe this has a lot to do with the decisions we make and our attitude. I pray that Harry has a group of friends that are positive influences and are honest.
Harry is growing so fast, to fast for me to just sit and write about! Although I am crazy about him at this age, I miss my little baby boy who was so new. We have been so blessed, I don't know what made me so happy before him! He is our pride and joy, the greatest gift we could ever ask for, we are humbled by him. I pray that we make good choices as parents and continue to appreciate every second we have with Our Harry!
Note: My editing skills are too grand, I also write super fast, I am on a time limit! It is driving my mom crazy. I am trying to do better!

A New Day a New Sickness

Poor guy has been sick for the last 2 days and looks like will be sick tomorrow too! He has pharingitis. It is a painful virus that is very contagious. He hasn't been really fussy and is sleeping well but, not too keen on eating. I am enjoying the extra cuddle time and reading long books with paper pages. It is amazing he has a throat full of blisters and is still able to be "Happy Harry". He rarely lets go of this little dog blankie(his Uncle Scott and Aunt Amy game him).

His new favorite toy. He is making himself useful!

Note to McCoy

Dear McCoy
Since I have been born, I have been begging for you to come play with me! I have been soaking up a lot of attention from your family (grands and all), but we all agree it is time for me to hand over the reins. We have done everything to make you want to come out, given you gifts, told you how much we love you and your mom and dad have been yearning for you for a year! Don't get me wrong, you are going to be mad when I beat you at basketball and soccer but, don't worry I will let you win sometimes! If you didn't know, your dad has the job of teaching us how to charge(the basketball kind), that is my mom's favorite play and your dad mastered it in high school. I know he is washed up now, but maybe he will get more motivated when you arrive. Our dad's also have planned golf trips and our girlfriend, Charlie will be playing with us too. I know it is cozy in there, but, once you come out and meet all the people who love you already you will not want to go any where else! I love you McCoy!
Love,
Harry

Great Grand is Grand!

Harry and I decided to take advantage of the weekend and ride with my parents to Grandmother Georgia's house in NEA! Chad had a golf tournament on Sat. morning and one of his buddies spent the night with him on Friday! We missed him but, were not sad we weren't around with the Razorbacks lost another game! Bobo and Coco spoiled us by the entire weekend! Harry was not lacking in love the whole weekend! We miss them already! We wish they were just a 1 and 45 minutes closer!!!
I have been dying to take Harry's pictures in Grandmother's yard. Coco is a pro at making Harry smile, to bad she is not in the pictures! I have so many fond memories at her house! I love being there and it was even more special with Harry! This little closed mouth smile is what the nurses at his clinic are crazy about. I guess I never noticed until now! Speaking of, he went to his 9 month check up on Friday and he is over the 100th percentile in height! He was 80th in weight and 97th in head circumference! He did have a mild ear infection, BUG!!!

Grandmother Georgia is by far the best cook I know! I am bias but, her meals are breath taking! Everything is home cooked and everything is presented beautifully! Even if it is just a bowl of cereal, she puts out the prettiest dishes, napkins, silverware, coasters etc...! Harry helped Bobo watch the game!
He cuddled with Grandmother before bed! Luckily, Coco put him to be bed so that I could get a Scrabble game in with Grandmother! She beat me!
He was in awe of her!
She was woken by a little explorer in her kitchen!

Our weekend was not over yet, we had dinner and ice cream with McCoy's mom and dad! I will have to put up pictures of Harry with them, McCoy is coming any day now! Whooo HOO!

What does Harry and a elephant have in common?

" BIG FEET"
He is struggling with this new concept of sneakers!
I think a boy's first time in Nikes may be some right of passage! We could call this a milestone. He has been in Puma shoes and Nike booties; but we are afraid that doesn't count! Thanks to Uncle Paul, Harry will never be out of cool shoes!
Harry is in a size 4 shoe! This is super annoying to his MOMMY! We have these adoreable shoes he has not been able to wear! This is not even all of the shoes he has grown out of! He does have 2 pairs of Nike Shox that he can wear, thanks to Paul! Although, he can not wear them to church, nor do they match all his gear! I should have had him in shoes more often; but it was hot, summer, and they were so uncomfortable!
YEAH for NIKES!
We are in "shox" that Harry is walking so much.

Harry and Friends

38 wonderful great friends showed up at the Matherly's house for life group. We love them all so much, we will be sad when when we go to smaller groups; but know we will see them often!
Can't get enough of Emma Grace and the jumpaline!
Who would not have a good time watching all the big kids!
Harry better toughin' up if he wants Elliott to like him!
Sweet Baby Jake, he is one lovey little guy, Harry is enjoying his clothes!
Hudson Lea is so stickin' SWEET! She adores Harry and doesn't even cry when he pulls her hair! Hudson Lea lives down the street and her Daddy gives her 4-wheeler rides to Harry's house all the time!

Inspiring

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyheJ480LYA

This is the most inspiring video I have ever seen. It is just a reminder of what Jesus does for us. It may seem cheesy at the beginning, stay with it.

Last Day as an 8 Month Old

"My dad plays FANTASY Football" this sums up our Saturdays since football season has started! Our "fantasy" athlete will be in front of a TV until the end of March (madness)! I guess golf takes into kick there and then we are back to football. I wonder if Harry will inherit this obsession, or will he love to read with his mommy?? I know...I know!
We did, on the other hand get to watch the AR vs AL game at Mimi and Papa's house! Happy Birthday Papa!!! What a yummy meal you cooked up on YOUR birthday. It was also a treat to have the Bashems and 1/2 of the Allen clan as well, to celebrate with! The game was a major bummer as Harrison would say! I wouldn't call myself a BIG sports fanatic by any means, but the last few minutes of that game stressed me out! Poor Hogs! Quick smart remark by this AR girl.....if we were on our field we would have totally smoked them!!! Lauren, I know you do not like that comment, I like their fans though...
Harry got to have a photo shoot with Cousin Brooklyn! Don't they take good pics together??

Harry loves this HUGE bear, he likes to tackle it! It is the funniest thing. He also loved on Grandma! He even walked to her!
Harry is showing Brooklyn how to find fun cabinets to explore! Mimi has a good one full of plastic chew toys!

I will be 9 months tomorrow, can you believe it!

While I Was Blogging

As you can see we did not wake him last night to change him into PJs. What's the point!
He is so curious! I didn't even realize he had pulled everything out of that cabinet!

Harry and the Hicks

We had a enjoyable night with the Hick's last night! Harry was thoroughly entertained by Baby Lindsey(not a baby anymore) and Harrison! I think Lindsey thought Harry was a real life baby doll that she could give lovin' too! Harry thinks Harrison is a comedian!
Harrison and I not only got to throw our food but, we painted wild fire breathing dragons! Harrison and "Mrs. Amanda" always have fun when we are together!

If you can't tell by the pictures, Harry had a adventerous time exploring their toy drawer in their kitchen. This gave the adults plenty of time to catch up and talk!

Thanks, Matt, Holly, Harrison, and Lindsey for having us over, we were actually invited this time! We love our Hicks Family!
