Repeat

I read this quote today, 

"Repetitious learning and teaching as a line upon line and precept upon precept pattern of revelation can invite the Holy Ghost to renew, enrich, and enlarge the knowledge we already have obtained; it also can bring new knowledge and understanding into our minds and hearts."

I feel like a lot of being a mom is repetition.  Eat,break up fight, laugh, cry, eat. Or asking myself how many stinking times have I told the kids to do or not do something?!  I'm grateful that this type of challenge/blessing of repetition in my life will strengthen me, my family, and my home. I need to remember that more.

Pineapple Tidbits

Here are a few tidbits of life from each of us... starting with the youngest because they usually are the last at everything.

Juniper. She is one busy girl on the go. She says "no" to everything you ask her. She loves to tease and will grab something from Curtis and run screaming, knowing that he is going to freak out and chase after her. She loves  to drink from a water bottle and eat fruit, really water is one of her favorite words to say. She climbs all of the furniture multiple times a day. She loves all dolls she calls them baby and gives them kisses and feeds them. She is just a sweet heart and gives great hugs, kisses, and likes to laugh. I love her energy and warmth.

Curtis is all boy. He loves to run around the house tackling his sisters. He is really into the show "Odd Squad" and makes me call him Agent Otto every day. He loves to pack a bag/toy shopping cart full of stuff and carry it around. He's started to put random stuff in his pockets and shoves as much as he can in them. He is so tender and we recently found out he hates shadows so a night light actually makes bedtime scarier for him so all lights off is what he prefers. He makes me laugh and knows just how to look at me when he's up to trouble that makes it so hard for me to discipline him so sometimes I don't. Every Sunday he makes his nursery teachers turn the coloring page they did into a paper airplane.I love his silly side and patience with me.

Maggie is curious. She loves to learn and ask questions. She wants to do everything right this second and has a plan for every second of the day. She is always wanting to plan her birthday party...it's in January. She even showed Clancy and I where we are supposed to stand during her party and make sure that all the kids are doing what she (the party planner) says. She had us practice. Haha! And Curtis is in charge of making sure her candle gets lit on her birthday cake. Watch out, she'll put you to work!  She likes to do yoga and gymnastics. She is very sensitive to what's going on around her and nothing gets by her, not a single word,conversation, image. So I guess she's observant and curious. She loves writing words and letters. She loves to help with dishes and any odd jobs Clancy does around the house. She says sweet things like "I'll always love you mom" and "Your the best mom in the world!" Right back at ya Mags, your the best daughter in the world and I'll always love you! I love her determination and thoughtfulness.

We had a mommy daughter date night doing each others makeup.

Me and Clancy: We are very much in love with these three kids and so in love with each other. Clancy loves making the roads safer and I love eating chips with avocado so most nights he talks to me about his plans to make our world better and I listen and love every minute of it while I have a snack :). I'm trying to be a great mom, some days it feels like I messed up big time in that area and other days it feels like I did pretty good. Clancy went to his first city counsel debate and now we have our first election sign in our yard-Go Carina for city counsel! We've both been trying to do some family history work and learn more about our ancestors. It's been a fun and neat thing to do sitting next to each other and sharing things we've found. Sometimes I feel boring because I don't have any crazy changes going on in life right now, it feels like most of our marriage we have, but it's nice to breathe for a minute and focus on these sweet little babes of mine.

That's all oh and speaking of Clancy making roads safer, just wear your seat belt. PLEASE just do it!

Wear A Helmet

A few things have happened where I really wish I could have been recording and watched that moment in life over and over again.

1. Maggie vs. the Mailbox- We were leaving to go on a walk and Maggie got on her Curtis' balance bike. I got out her helmet and she asked me why she needed a helmet when she's on just the little bike? I explained that it protects her head if she falls over or runs into anything.

We head out on our walk and we turn down a corner where the sun is blazing us all right in the face. Maggie puts her head down to keep the sun out of her eyes but charges right along as usual on the bike and SMACK! runs right into a mailbox. Then she looks up turns a little and keeps on going! Clancy and I were laughing our heads off. When we caught up to her she was laughing too and saying it was a good thing she had her helmet on!

2. Maggie vs. The Creek-By my parents house there is a park where a small creek runs through it. I grew up playing in the creek water with my friends and have so many good memories there and now I've got another great memory to add to the list.

We went over to the park to race ducks down the creek (you know, just normal rubber ducks) We toss them in at one bridge and fetch them out with a rake at another bridge. We did this a few times and Maggie really wanted to get the ducks out with the rake. She ran down to the second bridge, grabbed the rake and put it in the water. Sure enough after a few seconds the force of the water pulling on the rake pulled her right in the water with the rake. She belly flopped in and I screamed! Her cousin Solomon reached over the bridge and grabbed her hands and helped hold her up til Clancy got there and pulled her out. She was shocked for sure from the cold water but I could see Clancy talking to her and then they both just started laughing and laughing. All of us there got a good laugh and the boys saved the rake and all the ducks from the water.

Still Here

We are still here! Still living life and enjoying these little babies every day. I feel busier than I've been in my whole life. I'm not sure I ever stop moving until long after bedtime and I get everything done that couldn't get done during the day. June is a walking, climbing, brave, independent girl so that means I'm on my feet all day keeping her from doing too crazy of stunts. Oh and doing that while chatting it up with Maggie (my very chatty and charming girl) and Curtis my two year old right now ('nuff said). Life is wonderful. Until next time, here we are, all grown up since my last post, what was that 6 months ago?

So last month my very best friend moved away. Her and her sweet family are on a new fun adventure, and it's no surprise she was always a lot more adventurous then me. Really though, my friends don't get noticed enough on my blog. These two have been my greatest friends since I was what, 6 maybe? How does that even happen?! Best friends when you're six, best friends when you're 28! Well it does because these two know what it means to be a great friend and I think that trait is getting lost more and more in our world. Lots of love, laughing, patience, and hope for one another has gone on between us.  I pray for my kids to HAVE friends like this and I hope my kids will BE friends like this. I love them both so much!

And really there's no doubt we'll be best friends forever, literally. I believe that. 

An Update

 One day I will finish my post about the month that will go down in history as the most fun and also the most busy. Until then I have an update on how we're all doing using pictures taken by Maggie.

Maggie is full of questions. Here are a few, "Mom, what are tears made of?" "Mom, why do we pray in the name of Jesus Christ?" "Mom, what is a shooting star?" Speaking of shooting stars she is very much into the solar system right now and we have to find Venus in the sky every night when we're out. She just got a bunk bed and looks adorable and like such a big girl sleeping in it. She loves fairies and glitter and pink. We've been reading chapter books at night so far she's enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Princess in Black (the princess' name is Magnolia, how cool is that?), and the Mercy Watson series. Love this self portrait she took.

This is my favorite picture Maggie has taken so far. It's perfect and I love that you can see her little toes at the bottom. Curtis was just sitting reading some Where the Sidewalk Ends and Mags caught this as he was getting done. Priceless. 

Curtis is into falling over for any reason. He just likes rolling around and falling down for fun. He says "Ka-Chow" a lot. He copies everything Maggie does. Curtis finds a "bulldoze" anywhere we go. Curtis loves his Nike shoes and bacon. He is also still sleeping in his crib and has a serious attachment to his blanket.

Oh Jojo! She is everywhere and tries to pick up and eat anything she finds.She's started to pull herself up to stand up to the couch. Her favorite things are baby puffs and having me pull the couch cushions onto the floor for her to climb on. She loves bath time and went swimming for the first time a few days ago and was in heaven there. 

Clancy and I are good, these three keep us busy but at the end of the day when they're all in bed we like to snuggle up, watch some Psych, and maybe even get a Mountain West Burrito.
