He came!

The big guy paid us a visit last night.  Since we will be in Vegas for Christmas we made special arrangements via email for Santa to come early this year.  Our elf on the shelf - Lenny- caught him in the act!
Cami is thrilled about having 2 Christmas's this year. More pictures to come....

Fall Photos - better late than never

Over Veterans Day I took some new pictures of the kids.  However we have been having computer problems so I haven't been able to download them.  I finally got my camera software installed on my laptop and was able to download the pictures.

Birthdays

We have had lots of birthday fun in the past several weeks.  First Cami had a sleepover party with 3 friends.  We went to the pumpkin patch and straw maze.  The girls had so much fun running around through the maze and going down the huge slide.
Then we came home and made necklaces, painted pumpkins, ate cake and ice cream, and opened presents.

 Thank goodness for washable paint!
 Love those little crossed fingers!
She got tons of Barbie stuff.  It was a great party and the girls all got along really well. They stayed up until midnight and were up bright and early playing Just Dance at 6:30 am!
Next up was Cassidy's 2nd birthday.  She had a Minnie Mouse party.  We just kept it simple with our little family since we were in the middle of all being sick and didn't want to expose anyone else.
She loved everyone singing to her!
She had a great time opening her presents and gave each thing a hug and kiss.  She is into Princesses and horses and loved all her presents.

 Birthday dresses from Grandma Torrance.
Next up was Chris's birthday.  We went out for pizza and then had key lime cheesecake.  Cassidy kept blowing out Chris's candles for him. We've had a busy month and are looking forward to Thanksgiving and our first snow of the winter!

Piano Recital

Last week Carter and Cami had their first piano recital.  They were both really nervous.  Cami kept asking me what she was suppose to do, did she need to say her name or just sit down?  I told her just watch and see what the kids before her did and do the same.  Well, then we found out she was first!  Her teacher gave her some quick last minute instructions and then it was her turn.  She was suppose to play 2 songs - a duet with her teacher (Fairy Tale) and then another song on her own (Merrily We Roll Along).  But after her first song she was just too nervous and decided not to play the second song.  She did great and was so cute up there!  Carter played Axel F with a group of 2 other boys his same age.  They each learned their piece separately and didn't play it together until the day before.  I was really worried about it after hearing it that day but they pulled it together nicely and sounded awesome.  They all learned to play the song by ear because the music was above their levels right now. Their teacher is great about teaching them fun songs by ear to add to their lessons. Great job guys!

Carter's Fall 2011 Football Season

Ephrata Black 3rd and 4th grade Team
Carter's "I'm going to rip your head off" look
Running for a touchdown
Last night was Carter's 3/4 grade football jamboree.  His team - coached by his dad - only lost 1 game this season.  He played quarterback and had quite a few touchdowns. In the jamboree game they won 13-12.  Carter scored both touchdowns.  The above video is of his second touchdown of the night where he ran 95 yards to tie the game with 3 minutes left on the clock. (Warning - I kind of lost track of the ball for a minute).  He really really loves football and takes it very seriously.  Wonder where he got that?  His plan is to play in the NFL.  Someday when he is rich and famous these pictures could be worth millions!

Soccer and Horseback riding Fall 2011

I feel like I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off the last 6 weeks.  We have been so busy with fall sports and activities it's been crazy.  Thankfully things wrap up in the next couple weeks and we will have a short break until winter sports begin.  Somehow Cami ended up involved in more activities than the boys which is a first. She is taking piano lessons and started the violin last month.  She is doing great with it and is very excited about it.  Last week was her last riding lesson for the winter.  She learned alot and got to canter during her last couple lessons.  A horse is definitely on her birthday and Christmas list.

At the end of Cami's lessons Cassidy gets to go for a little ride.  She gets so excited and throws a fit when her turn is over.  We have some plastic toy horses that Cass carries around with her all day playing with.  She has named them Madison and Levi - after the 2 horses Cami rides.  I think she is following in her sisters footsteps of being a horse lover.

Cami played fall U-7 soccer this season.  Her friend Mari's mom and I coached their team.  Cami was much more aggressive this season and scored at least 1 goal in most of the the games.  I think she's finally getting the hang of soccer and doesn't just run around with everyone.

Cami got lucky and had her BFF Halee on her team as well as Halee's twin brother Mason.  These two girls are so cute together.  They hug each other everytime one of them scores a goal and pass the ball back and forth saying "no, it's your turn," "oh, no I think it's your turn."  I think they are both going to be traumatized when they don't end up on the same team and have to play against each other.

Tonight is their last game and I must admit I am glad.  Most game nights Chris is coaching Carter's football team and gets to Cami's game late so I have Cassidy trying to run onto the field or wanting to be held while I'm coaching.  She really thinks she is part of the team and doesn't understand why she can't be out there with the kids. I don't know how we're going to manage when she is old enough to play sports and we are going 4 different directions instead of 3!
