God's Creatures

I have a funny story I have to share.

I have been babysitting for the Henry family for 4 years now. They have four little boys ( 5yrs, 2 4 yr olds, and a 1 yr old). Yesterday their mom told me this story. I crack up every time I think about it.

The other day the boys dad was making dinner, while they played in the back yard. One of the 4 year olds came inside and said "Daddy, our neighbor shooted one of Gods creatures!" Its true. The crotchety old man is always trapping squirrels and shooting them with a pellet gun. He thinks they are somehow going to get to his attic threw the roof and start some kind of squirrel infestation up there or something :)

Blake tried to console him, but he was still upset and eventually wondered back outside.

So dinner was ready and all the boys ran in... except Ryan. They looked in the back yard, front yard, inside... couldn't find him. Their mom just happened to look over at the neighbors, and their he was, tattling on the neighbors to his wife.

All she said is that he does it because the squirrel eat their flowers... which isn't true, but whatever.

Yesterday before I went home Ryan was talking to me about how "George shooted a squirrel", and the other 4 year old said, "It wasn't a squirrel it was a girl." I told Carter he was indeed shooting a squirrel and not a girl, and he said "Oh?" I could tell by the look on his face he wasn't trying to be funny or anything... he really thought George had shot a girl. He must have just heard bits and pieces of the story when his parents were talking about it and somehow got girl from squirrel.

The end.

4-25-09

This past Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Chris went on a 50 mile Kayak pack trip with his dad. The camped out both nights on the side of the river, where harassed by a few possums, and I guess they had to get out a few times to carry the kayaks.... this is the result:

We have 3 cameras. Chris took the one with dead batteries, go figure:) He capture a few good shots with his phone though.

I planted my little mini garden while he was gone. Our soil here is terrible, and I usually kill everything so I kept it simple.

Strawberries, bell peppers and Tomatoes.

Today we went to lunch at Joe Mamma's to celebrate Eric's 32nd Birthday.

Happy Birthday Puddin'!

80s

Last night we finally had the much anticipated 80s night.

First we made everyone meet up to go rollerskating. Chris got kicked out before we even went in. They said his shorts were too short, and he couldn't wear a muscle shirt. Luckily Deter had a jacket in his car. Chris pulled his short down a little and we were good to go again.

Once inside we were reminded to make sure all wigs were secure so they didn't fly off and hit the person behind us. If something like that were to happen it would have been a total disaster.

Strict rules :)

Kristen fell once, and we had a minor 3 person pile up but other than that everyone did pretty well staying up on their skates.

When the skating was done we all headed back to our house for some Doritos, candy, drinks, karaoke and UFC. All and all it was a really fun night. Everyone (except Dave) did a great job dressing up!

Thank you all for helping us celebrate Chris and Josh turning older.

3rd

Today is our 3rd anniversary. 3 years ago today we were engaged and had our wedding date set as August 12th, but ended up getting married in my bosses back yard April 11th instead.

April 9, 2006 we thought I may have had a stroke... something happened that didn't really make sense. I didn't have insurance, but Chris did. So since we were already engaged we thought what the heck?! My mom flew in, Chris' family drove in from Texas... and we got hitched :)

It ended up being perfect!

I look like I'm being tortured... I was just trying really hard not to cry. :)

I ran to the mall at 9:30pm the night before to try and find some type of dress that would work. The only thing I could find was strapless and I was totally sunburned.

Happy 3rd Anniversary Chris. I love you Mackdaddy!

.

I saw an arrangement kind of like this in a magazine and wanted to try it. It turned out ok. I'm not very good with the flower part.

Last weekend I made 80 cards for Chris' grandma. Here are a few.

Easter is one of my favorite Holidays. We are having Chris' family over to our house this year for an Easter/Birthday celebration. I'm very excited!

HAPPY EASTER Y'ALL
