Wishing You Well!

Hello dear friends!
I hope this day finds you well, happy and enjoying another summer day! We have had 90 degrees daily for almost a week and I'm not complaining! Of course, that also has to do with not having to go to work and firing up our room airconditioners and fans in the morning! I've been walking around the lake (3 mi) every day at 6:00 AM and having outside work done by 10:00! It gets a little hot after that! DH and I did take our kayaks out in the evening a couple of nights ago. Good times! I made this card for a friend who just had surgery. It seems when I'm not stealing outright from Debbie Olson I'm channeling her! I used vintage picnic from Papertrey Ink and Cosmo Cricket paper with my beloved Kraft card stock.
I make several of this type of card at a time. I stamp the picnic basket on different papers and color them all up. since it's summer I stamped the daisies on cream (about 8 of them!) and colored them up. Then I cut my baskets out and lay them on the cream paper with the daisies. I'll have a very different card on the same idea to show you in a day or so.
I'm trying to get ahead as DH is on vacation next week! Yeah!
I'm doing great after my surgery and I see the DR. today. Thanks for all your well wishes! They are very much appreciated!
Better get some other stuff done before my appt. See you soon and thank for coming by the
Cottage!

Turquoise!

Well, it's STILL snowing in Western New York! I'm okay with it because I finished TWO cards this morning and I want to show you both of them! This is an image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I'm so sorry I can't find it in her store. It was one of the freebies on Paper Craft Planet when she reached a milestone in memberships. I'm not sure what number, but you may be able to find it there for FREE! I love the paper on this card. I saw them first on Paulabella's blog.
My touch was to add the homemade chipboard buttons. I used the Sizzix button die that I got from SU, cut them from Cool Caribbean and cardboard then glued them together and sponged the edges with Teal. After that I tied yellow embroidery floss through them. Neat!
Mo's wonderful illustration is colored with copics-I think this kid's mom owns Geranimals! Even his sneakers match!! And the dog collar!
(I'm lovin' Cool Caribbean with Teal and Kiwi green! More to come with this combo!! You betcha!

This quickie card is one I made to mail to a friend of ours who fell and broke his hip. They have two new Golden puppies so I made the dog all yellow.
Wishing him a speedy recovery!
Thanks so much for coming by! Coming soon will be the Copic Creations challenge AND the Magnolia-licious March monthly challenge which is a fab sketch by our Jacque!
Enjoy your day! I'm off to dig the car out for a trip to the Post office-blog candy to get in the mail!

Get Well Puppy

Good morning! There sure is a lot of sickness going around! I have many friends that I could send this to! (But the way I roll, it'll never leave the house!) The image is from Stampavie and I got mine at 7 Kids College Fund. I just love the pup with the hurt leg and that great chair! The floral paper is the same October Afternoon that I've been using. this time it's paired with Bo Bunnie's double dot paper. It changes the whole look when it's put with tan and brown! Love that!

If you aren't feeling well, I hope you are better VERY SOON! And if you are well, go on and have a great day!
Thanks for visiting! Cheryl

Not your ordinary firefly!

Good Saturday morning! It's taken me all week to finish another card! This one is for all of us (me included) who haven't felt very good this week! Hope you're feeling better!! I sat on the couch in the evenings coloring this week and after I saw Anna Wight's card I just had to watercolor her Whipper Snapper bug like she did! I love, love, love him/her!! So this morning I decided I HAD to get this bug made into a card. I wanted to pull in the aqua and green that I had water colored with so chose this Basic Grey paper from Urban Prairie. Lookie!! It has grey ladybugs on it! You can only see one on my card, but it's like a theme!
And, this, of course, is a close up of the coloring. I think I will get brave next time and cover the whole image with Crystal Effects to make the jar glassy!
Oh yeah, the sentiment is from High Hopes. Perfect for this, huh?
Thanks for visiting today! I'll try to get more cards done for this upcoming week's posts. We've had more snow here so won't venture out too far, just to a Super Bowl party tomorrow. I {{heart}} being home!
Hope your Saturday is one with fun! Cheryl
