Weekend fun

It was a great Thanksgiving weekend!
We ate a lot!
Got the house all decorated!
And we celebrated the big win of
The University of Texas Longhorns over
the Aggies.
Y'all. we.got.the.last.say.
everyone was in good moods around the Cheatham casa.
In Derek's words...
"we were due after the World Series debacle"

Here's just a few pics from the weekend...
everyone sporting their Longhorn paraphenalia.
"the chinchillas" (as they call themselves)

and this is the kind of stuff that happens when
everyone has a friend over...
it gets a little crazy...
and I do mean crazy!
and there may or not may not have been a
"full down" done in a tutu in Kroger!

all of this because they somehow talked us into
going to get s'more fixins
(right in the middle of my time with
Coach and Tami Taylor, and Tim Riggins too!
Clear eyes, full hearts, CAN'T LOSE!
sorry, couldn't help myself.)

Seriously a good dad that put up with all the nonsense
in Kroger...
and then begged to get in the doors of Lowes as they were closing for pinion wood.
all for about 5 minutes of marshmallow roasting!

and that... was a good weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Cheathams!
Thanking God for all these blessings
and hoping we will have Little Man in the pic next year!

Cheer!

This is gonna be a long ole post..
with lots of cheer pics...
so if you aren't a fan, well then skip right over this one!

We had our first competition of the season!
The first competition always involves a
dress rehearsal at the gym,
making sure everyone's uniform fits,
hair is done right,
and stupid, dumb, ridiculous beautiful makeup is done perfectly!

Ellison and our sweet precious Chandler

Ellison and Cami Jo
These two were so excited to do cheer together,
after doing team gymnastics together for so long.

And then it was competition day!!!
And let me tell you how it was such a pain in the neck so much fun to get TWO girls ready on competition day!!!!

The cousins even came to watch!

There always has to be the crazy pic too!

And let's finish this thing off with In and Out Burger!

Such a fun day!
But wait!!!
It's not over because it was
ORPHAN SUNDAY TOO!!!
Derek and I sported our 147 million orphans shirts for the day!

Ellison's dance team had the opportunity to dance at the varsity football game!
The girls did a fabulous job!
A few pics...

the day after Halloween

Don't all moms do this the day or two after Halloween?
Raid their kids halloween candy??
And then text their bff with their guilty conscious!
Totally not what I should have been doing in the middle of the day!

and HOT TAMALES??!!
where were the hot tamales??
not one box of hot tamales in any of my kids bags!
so disappointing.

Like I said...
eating candy and texting about it in the middle of the day is not what I should have been doing..
but after reading another one of Jen Hatmaker's blog posts...
well, I was a blubbering fool that could only be soothed with chocolate and a bff.

If you are an adoptive momma/family or even if you aren't and you haven't read Jen Hatmaker.
Well you are missing out on some serious gold people.
She will have you peeing your pants from laughing and crying your eyes out in every.single.post.
I kid you not.

Halloween

Halloween weekend sure was fun!
We had an annual costume party to go to...
annual being the key word here.
The party started at 6:30...
and that's about the time Derek and I started gathering our costumes.
Honestly, I'm not one for dressing up.
It kinda makes me cranky to spend money
on silly costumes.
I know, party pooper...
So I just grabbed anything I could find that was pink in my closet and called myself
Pinkalicious!
(I know, totally lame)
Derek, however, took the cake!
At least one of us can rock the costume!

Brooks decided he was too old to dress up or maybe he was watching college football...
not sure
And Halle Caroline was a hula girl, the same costume she wore in 1st grade!
(I love the recycled costume!)
And Ellison, well, ha! she wore her cheer uniform!

No words. For some reason this is their favorite pose.  Weird

 Friends at the party
Miss Sidney was a twister girl and Cassidy was toddlers and tiaras. It was hysterical.  Cassidy's mom, Aimee was a pageant mom and it was too funny! No picture of the 2 of them together though.

Cousin trick-or-treating on Halloween night

It was a very low key Halloween!
Just the way we like it!
