RANGER CRAZY!

OH!
have i mentioned that we are Ranger crazy around here!?!
such a fun fun time of year

I honestly do not know what we are going to do with all of our time
when baseball is over.
It consumes almost every night!
I tell ya...
my house is a wreck,
we are behind on our tv shows we watch,
i'm behind on monogramming,
and can't hardly find a day to get some flying in
due to Ranger games and not wanting to miss a single second inning!

We love the Rangers
We aren't some bandwagon fans
although...
I do admit to being one of those at times
(Mavericks... I jump on that bandwagon about the 2nd round of playoffs)

Derek's love for the Rangers started...
well, I don't know when it started...
but in high school he was a bat boy for the Rangers
(I'm thinking maybe I've told this story on the blog before)
Anywhoo.... he was a bat boy when George W was an owner.
He used to hollar down to Derek to "get him some gum"!
Derek has lots of fun stories about that time...
being there when Nolan Ryan pitched no hitters and such...

Anyway...
It's Ranger crazy in our neck of the woods...

At the girls cheer gym, it was "wear your Ranger gear day"

here's some of the girls with their shirts on with the owner of the gym
Ellison was just going to tumbling class.
Those girls to the left of her are in her class... big girls! high school girls!
lol!
The other day Ellison was complaining to me
about having to be in tumbling class with the big girls...
I said, "honey... but no one your age has the skills that you do!"
she just looked at me and grinned.
she's really good.. some of that boils down to the fact that she has no fear.

And here is where we were absolutely fortunate enough
to have been given the opportunity to go to a
WORLD SERIES GAME!
It was super fun and we WON which made it even that much sweeter!

my pictures are horrible because the little knob on my camera was turned to some random setting,
causing every picture to be dark.
I somehow lightened them up in iphoto, but had absolutely no idea what I was doing.
so they are grainy and bad...
but it's documented!

the 3 of us with our friends the Woodwards,
who are way too good to us for words.

Cannot wait to WIN THIS THING!
GO RANGERS!!!!!

1 year and dancing

Today marks 1 big fat year since we received our CIS clearance and our dossier was sent to Ethiopia.
One long, dumb year.

This 1 year does not include....
the time we spent gathering paperwork,
homestudy,
nor does it include the 13 painful weeks that we waited on CIS clearance...
remember that miserable time period???

So, don't let the 1 year mark fool you...
we've been working on this adoption for about 21 months now.

This whole picture does not at all look the way we planned it.

Crazy.
A year ago today, we never would have guessed that we would be in the situation that we are in now.
And there is no end in sight to this wait for Little Man.
No light at the end of the tunnel.
It seems that more and more delays keep popping up.
It's very disheartening.

We thought that we would be bringing that sweet boy home while Brooks was in 8th grade!
The way it looks at this point, he might very well me a junior in high school.

And this very morning...
this big boy was up early to go take the PSAT
seriously, we are talking about things like the PSAT! ugh...
This whole adoption thing was originally Brooks' idea...
so we would kinda like for Brooks to get to be a big brother to Little Man for a while before he heads off to college and all...

Frustrating?
yes, the most frustrating thing ever...
We think about him every day, and we talk about him all the time.

Whoa. I just had to delete a whole whiny paragraph!
Anyway...we can't wait for Little Man!

We really hope we have him in 2012!

In other news....
Ellison is following in big sister's shoes and earned a spot on the 5th/6th grade dance team.  We are so proud of her!
She is loving getting to do this with her friends,
after she watched Halle Caroline do it.

Ellison and her good friend Miss S.
They are super close friends...
until it comes time for Texas/OU weekend.
then there is a rivalry between those 2!
Ellison came home today saying...
"Sidney just kept rubbing it in my face all day"
I told her, "tell Sidney... our day will come"
haha!
