Sad day. I HATE pigs.

This is a very sad day. I think we are cancelling the trip for Hubs and me. boohoo. I was so looking forward to it and with all these crazy kids...WE NEED IT. They have cancelled all of our schools field trips and activities due to the swine. I'm afraid they are going to cancel school too. It's all a little overboard if you ask me. I went to WalMart to buy hand sanitizer today. They were out!

Anywhoo...all I really want is a diet coke to wash my sadness away. Day 2. no diet coke.

Day 1

Day 1:

no diet coke. cold turkey. in hopes of getting rid of my pot belly and evidently my craving for sugar. lemon sparkling water instead, very refreshing in the warm weather. at least that it what i'm trying to tell myself. they will miss me at sonic. a lot. wonder what red bull would do to my body? maybe that's an alternative. very expensive though. just thinking out loud.

It figures...

but this is getting in the way...


IT FIGURES... Hubby and I have a trip planned for just the 2 of us, a little rendevous to get reaquainted to where else but, Playa Del Carmen, MEXI-FREAKIN-CO. Lovely. My sweet MIL and FIL gave us a babysitting getaway for Christmas. We have been counting down the days. We even bought airplane tickets WHICH WE NEVER DO (since we can travel free, except it is standby). I just read that they are now strongly discouraging travel to and from Mexico. Just my luck. Swine flu.

On another note. I had all 3 kids in the car with me today. Halle Caroline was helping Ellison with some math homework. I was trying to praise Halle Caroline because she was being so helpful, and she's not usually so helpful. So I told her how smart she was and thank you for helping your sister. Brooks piped up from the back and said, "Halle Caroline, you are taking after me and Dad, we are so smart in math." To which I replied, "excuse me, what about me???" Brooks said, "well..... you are smart in flight attending...." Hello! It takes a lot of smarts to remember 3 peoples drink orders all at one time!

And just for the record, I do have a marketing degree that my parents paid big money for. Thank you very much.

I LOVE IT!!! The new camera that is! I waited all day at my house for it to arrive. I knew that UPS wouldn't deliver after 7pm. So at 6:55pm, when it had not been delivered, I knew that I was going to have to wait until Monday. But, at about that time, my doorbell rang and it was a sweet old man that lives in my neighborhood and the UPS man had delivered it to the wrong address. yippie! I was so excited. As I was trying to put the camera together, Ellison said, "MOM...you are never gonna know how to work this camera, you are SO NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER." Nice, thanks Ella!

So, let me share some of this camera's greatness. We were down to one kid tonight, so we took Ellison to dinner at Mi Cocina and for ice cream after. That was fun because we NEVER have just one kid!

Momentous Day!

This is a very exciting day! My new camera should be delivered via UPS, along with some fancy shmancy lens!



My SIL, Amber has this camera along with a host of others and it takes amazing pictures. I got to play with hers at Easter. I took the same pictures with my camera and with her camera. The difference in quality is quite noticable. I had to convince hubby. It took all of about 5 seconds to do that when I showed him the same picture from 2 different cameras. My kids are only little once and I want to be able to see EVERY.SINGLE.DETAIL of their sweet faces (maybe not mine though! ;0) ). You can be sure that I will be posting pictures of random things tonight or tomorrow. It's the little things in life that make me so excited! Yippie!

Yesterday was Derek's mom's 60th birthday! There was a surprise party held for her that was lots of fun!! I think she was surprised despite Derek's dad's inability to keep secrets. haha! She had all of her family and friends there.

Easter Sunday 2009

What a great day that began with loud thunderstorms at 5am! I woke up to find 1 kid in our bed and 2 more wanting in. Then they decided that a better idea would be to see what the Easter bunny brought. I told them this was not Christmas morning and- NO- we were not getting the day started yet! That answer satisfied them until about 7:30. We then had a leisurely morning with dad making waffles and the kids watched a movie they got in their baskets. We then went to late service at our church which was awesome. After church, we went straight to NeNe and Grandad's house for lunch, egghunt, and playing with cousins. Lots of fun! I sit here now eating my last few Reeses peanut butter eggs and Cadbury Eggs. I literally stuff myself on these 2 pleasures on Easter and will wait for a whole year to feast on them again. Here are lots of pics of our day. I could not believe that I got my girls to wear these skirts, but I was BESIDE myself that they complied with my request. I know that secretly they loved them, but will just not admit it. I made their matching shirts late last night. I am always monogramming stuff for them at the last second and this was no exception.
