Ellison's 1st Gymnastics Meet

On Sunday, Ellison had her first ever gymnastics meet. She was a bit nervous and so was momma! She was so excited to wear the competition leotard and warm ups that have been sitting in the closet with the tags on for almost a year now. Ellison or I really had no idea what to expect. Very much a learning experience! She did awesome for her first meet! We were so proud of her! Ellison has been working for this 3 times a week for 2 hours each time. Lots of hours at the gym!

Sweet big sister came to watch. Big brother had a baseball game.

Ellison in line with the other gymnasts. She is the 2nd one in line from the right. The littlest one!

Okay - let's get things started! 1st event!
Horrible pic, but just to document the vault.

Her score for the vault was a 9.60!! Woohoo! 1st score in her 1st gymnastics meet. Now that's a great way to start things off!

Bars - no good pics from this. Momma was too nervous to take pics! BF Cami Jo is watching. sweet.

Her score for the bars 7.75

Now on to the beam.

Her score for beam. 8.10

Last event, the floor.

In the middle of her floor routine, she looked over and saw all of us filming, and taking pictures and she kind of froze for a second. It definitely messed with her concentration. I felt so bad. She still got all of her elements in, but it wasn't perfect.

Her score for floor routine 8.55

Best Friends since birth - Cami Jo and Ellison. They love seeing each other at gymnastics.

Happy Birthday Brooks!

We celebrated Brooks' 12th birthday this weekend. He started out playing golf with one of his best friends, Mitchell and the two dads. Here they are before leaving for the course.

After golf, their other best friend, Blaze joined them for a sleepover. These 3 boys have been best friends since birth. Mitchell was at the hospital when Brooks was born. He was almost 1 at the time. Blaze is 5 months younger, so he was also there in his momma's tummy!

Brooks requested homemade donuts for breakfast

We spent the rest of Saturday just celebrating as a family. That included a trip to the mall for a hat that Brooks wanted, Barnes and Noble for books, dinner, desert, and then more desert at home.

Here are the 3 kiddos at Nestle Toll House in Southlake

The "pre-teen" could not decide what kind of party he wanted, so we just didn't get one planned. Hopefully that is to come in the next few weeks!

If you need me...

If you need me for the next 2 1/2 months, this is where I will be! Fun times! Popcorn, ring pops, and nachos for the girls while they endure 2 hour games 2-3 times a week. Spring is here! That makes me happy!

Brooks' 1st game of the season. He had an amazing run down play at 2nd base.

Horseshoe Bay - Part 2

Here's some more pics from our trip. Probably boring to most of you, but since this blog is our family scrapbook, they must be included! Good times!!

Horseshoes

Brooks got one!

Hubby was making fun of the way I stand when I put. Now that I can see it, it does look a little silly. Not sure why it was comfortable for me to put this way, but I did shoot par, thank you very much. And actually, I hate putt putt.

Spring Break...Horseshoe Bay style!

Well, we had big big plans to head to Phoenix this week. Brooks has always wanted to go to the Texas Rangers Spring Training games. We thought that this would be the year with the economy in turmoil and all. We thought that this would be the year that the public would not be traveling and we would be able to get on a plane as a standby (family of 5 :) ). Not so much! We started to check the flights to anywhere in the free WORLD. No where, we could get no where! Every.Single.Flight.Was.Full...

So we packed up the car and began another Spring Break Road Trip. Which was actually just fine with me! We ended up here in Horseshoe Bay which is great. Weather is wonderful and kids are having a blast. Heck, they don't care where we go, it's just always nice to get away.

Here's a few pics from today. After we got here, we checked in, then the kids decided we would play a family game of tennis. Let me just say that none of us play tennis at all, but a good time was had by all. Then it was family time of cooking out. Then S'more time, followed by an argument of putt putt or swimming while watching Nemo. Well the squeaky wheel always gets the grease (Ellison won out with swimming, which lasted all of 10 minutes, just like I told Brooks and Halle Caroline it would!) Fun times! Here's a few pics...

All packed up and ready to go!!!

We're here!

Ellison lost interest after playing tennis for about 5 minutes and did gymnastics for the rest of the time we were there! :)

The girls - while we were cooking out. I'm looking great after chasing the ball on the tennis court! Ha! ;)

Coco- we looked for you at WalMart and HEB while we were there! :)
