Late Christmas afternoon, we went over to the Cheathams for dinner and more present opening. A fun time was had by all.

I have no clue what these 3 are doing laying on a hard tile floor!

Christmas Eve

Well....we literally SLID all the way home from San Antonio on Christmas Eve afternoon. We had no idea the roads were gonna be so bad and icy driving home. It was a VERY SCARY ride home. We finally rolled in at about 9:30 after a stressful ride home. But what was super fun was that---we came home to a white Christmas Eve! The kids played for just a little while.

Our Christmas Eve tradition is to roll in town at about 8 and head to the motherland Cheathams and read the Night Before Christmas with the cousins all in their matching pjs. But with the weather and road conditions being so bad (I know Casey...we're Texans!), it didn't happen this year on Christmas Eve. So, we had our own little reading of the book at our own house. It was fun!

More Christmas with Gram Pam

It's a tradition for us to always go see Santa at La Cantera. I am so happy that I got my kids to take the pic with Santa one more year! ha! Every year, I think it will be my last. Today they said, "Mom.... we are the oldest ones here!" But they obliged anyway. Thank you kids! xo!

This is Santa asking Brooks to explain what a "Nook" is. lol! He probably doesn't get many requests for that! ha!

Ellison decided she was going to be a toot for most of the day (imagine that) and not smile for hardly any pictures

Dad told them to say "Santa Farts!" That's what the laughing is all about! Dad!

Getting in the spirit!

I finally had a chance to catch my breath today and do a little baking. Why is everything so crazy the week before school gets out? There is just so much going on for the kids... I just take it one day at a time. I've just had no time to do these fun things that just really get you in the Christmas spirit, like baking. The girls took turns coming and helping me, which is always good because I don't have to referee. But don't you know, the second both girls sat down to ice the cut out cookies, it all went down. ugh. Needless to say, I ended up icing almost all of them.

Good gracious! There was no need for a cute monogrammed apron... I hadn't had a shower in like 2 days. NASTY! Totally keepin it real.

I have THE BEST NEWS EVER to share with everyone after Christmas. It has to do with that funny little letter that I wrote a few weeks ago. I can't say too much because I don't want to ruin a Christmas surprise. Let's just say, I have never been so surprised in all of my life. You are not gonna believe it! There really is a Santa! I am still just shaking my head in disbelief. And make sure that you all do a little shopping at Barnes and Noble. I AM JUST SAYING!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas to me!

I don't even know how to begin this post. It was the GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE....next to the day I married my husband, next to the day of my firstborn, next to the day of my second born, next to the day of my third born.....

I'm not too sure if any of you followers of my blog have known about my obsession. Complete, total, utter, with all of my being - obsession. Not just a little obsession. It's sick really. It's mentioned on my side bar in "about me" as one of the things I love. I talk about it at least once a week, but at least once a day when the weather gets warm and beautiful.

This is why my husband, for many other reasons also, but this is why he is the greatest man alive.

I have been in love with this for about 4 years now since the first day I saw it. HAD.TO.HAVE.IT!!!! HAD TO! Everytime I happen to see it, I start screaming at the top of my lungs. My kids know exactly what it is and just laugh. I am literally shaking as I am typing this just reliving all of the emotions... I cannot even tell you my love for this thing.

So here it is....... my love........TRIXIE :)
Story to follow

Isn't she a doll!!!????!!!!!

So here's the story. As I said, she's about 4-5 years old. We crossed paths every now and then. I knew exactly where she used to live - I'm a stalker like that. My husband actually passes her everyday on his way to work. I have told him forever.... if that car ever goes up for sale.... YOU BETTER CALL ON IT!!!! He would have anyway, without me even asking. He's a good husband like that. I have had a picture of this car above my computer that I use for monogramming for 2-3 years. The previous owner owned a store, so it was in an advertisement. Everytime I was sick of monogramming, I would look at that picture and say, "I'm gonna buy that one day".

You can see the itty bitty picture taped to the cabinet door

So, last Thursday, he called me at about 9 am. He said, "You are never gonna believe. you are not going to believe what is for sale?" "What?" I said. "Paige's pink slug bug," he said. Here's where I start screaming and freaking out!!!!!! "NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY" and pacing back and forth and more pacing. Because I know this will be the most ridiculous and inappropriate purchase mankind has ever made. But I know that this opportunity will NEVER come again. You see, she's so unique because first of all, she's PINK, but she's got this pearlescent thing to her. Gorgeous I tell you. Just darling.

Anyway, the car had been for sale for 20 minutes when hubby called on it. He was the first person to call on it. THANK GOODNESS! They had several other calls on it after ours. The sellers were good people because they chose to deal with us first because we were the first call.

I am the luckiest girl alive!

I'm not too sure about my photographers abilities - the angle of the camera! whatever.

Isn't it the cutest thing you have ever seen in your life???
