America's Past Time
I just wanted to document what we spend so much of our Fall and Springs doing. Practices and games over and over again!!! Baseball is one of Brooks' true loves - just like his Dad. Isn't he so cute???

Friends
This weekend we got to do something that we have talked about doing for years. We finally took our good friends to the Cheatham's ranch with us. We had a GREAT time. We also went to Abilene for ACU homecoming for the day on Saturday. Brooks had been wanting to see the campus. He told us not too long ago, "You know -- if I'm gonna go to ACU -- maybe I need to see it???" Well, it was a good excuse to go on out there are relive some great college memories. After we left the campus and were driving back to the ranch, we asked the kids what they thought about ACU. They all 3 said that it wasn't what they were expecting. I said, "what did you think it would be like?" Brooks and Halle Caroline said, "well, we thought it was going to be like PCA." I said, "what's PCA???" They said, "you know - on Zoey 101" I said --- well you have to go to Pepperdine for that. Abilene is a far cry from Malibu!" Maybe Brooks is reconsidering ACU now!
Anyway - we had a blast at the ranch riding 4-wheelers, fishing, hunting, cooking out, and just hangin. Here's a few pics...

Boo!
Speaking of our neighborhood again... it has been a yearly tradition since we moved into our house 4 years ago to "Boo" people. Just in case you don't know what this is... you get a container of candy and "ding dong ditch" a house and leave the candy on their doorstep. Then you run like the dickens and hide. Ideally you would get to a place that you could watch them open the door and be so surprised. It doesn't always happen that way!! Then that house has to put the piece of paper in their window saying that they have been booed - so they don't get it twice. And it is their turn to "Boo" someone. Anyway, the kids are always so excited to "Boo" someone every year. It is a highlight of the season! They start asking on October 1st when they can boo someone. So this picture is the first "Boo" in our neighborhood! We are booing our great neighbors that live behind us - the S's.

Whoops! Brooks almost dropped all the candy!

Ice Cream Man
We have the best neighborhood! The kids play outside for hours on end and have a blast. We love it here! But one of the best parts of our neighborhood is that the Ice Cream Man comes often because we are such suckers!!! The kids just freak out when they hear him coming. But why???? Why does he always have to come at dinner time????? uggghhhh!

Game on Sucka
Well - sister #1 has it now! We've been at this war for a full 24 hours now. The washing machine hasn't stopped. Thank goodness we paid extra for the "Sanitary" cycle. Worth every penny! I have literally been driven to drink! haha! We are in the lice product hole about $100 at this point. That wasn't in the monthly budget!
So GAME ON - LICE. I WILL WIN THIS BATTLE!

The Plague
The day I have dreaded for so long---- HAS COME!!! One of a mother's worst nightmares! All my friends have had it and I have often boasted - to never have been a victim. Well - no more boasting for me..... I stated last night at 2:45 am to Derek - this is a MODERN DAY PLAGUE!!! LICE INFESTATION!!!! I can't even tell you how violated I feel. Our home, her bed, her toys, our car. It is completely miserable!!!
We discovered it at about 11:30 pm last night and we finally climbed into bed at about 3:00 am. After combing every strand of hair and spraying and washing everything she could have possibly touched in our house. Who in the world has time for this??? So if you are waiting on monogramming - well I have been put a little behind due to the modern day plague. Derek said I was overreacting about that (MDP) - he said that people weren't dying or anything. Well somebody might die if I find out where she got this!

Big Tex and all his fried food
We went to the State Fair of Texas with the whole Cheatham clan last night. This is a yearly tradition for us. The kids look forward to this event every year - they love it! And I couldn't wait to go - just so I could blog it! We eat and eat our way through the Fair and the kids/Grandad enjoy the games at the midway. It was a great time, even though I still have gross onion ring breath (that Amber made me eat) the morning after!!! Nasty!

Yummy - Fletcher's Corn Dogs!!!

Cousin Emily and Ellison

Cousin Dalton and Brooks

Cousin Luke was so happy that Cousin Sam came to the Fair. Luke was trying to get Sam to look and the camera and say cheeze.

Ellison was so excited when she won this elephant! It's her absolute favorite animal since the day she was born and one of our little friends (Meg) called her "Ellison the Elephant"

And here is a shameless Polka Dot Dreams plug! Look at this - it's one of my newest products - the cinch backpack - perfect for moms or kids. I can't wait to take mine to Canton now! It worked great for holding all the kids stuff at the Fair. It comes it lots of different colors too!

Current Addictions
Current Addictions -
The Rules:
1. Write a post about five current addictions (with details) 2. Mention the person who started this (Being Brazen) and also the person who tagged you (The Clay Chronicles). 3. Title your post “Current Addictions” 4. Tag at least two people and pass on the above rules.
Addiction #1: SONIC DIET COKES!!!! I just can't get enough!!! Every single day I have to have one! I love them so much - the styrofoam cup and the ICE! Oh! I have to go get one now!
Addiction #2: TARGET!!! I love that place - it is one of my favorite places on earth. I go there at least 4 days a week. I have been known to even ground myself from Target! Derek says that we MUST be their very best customer and that I should have a parking place with my name on it. I have even had monogramming customers find my car in the parking lot and come track me down in the store to give me things to monogram. When we go out of town - I just have to go to that town's Target just to make sure I'm not missing anything at my home Target.
Addiction #3: Blog Stalking - I'm sorry - I am completely guilty - and it is probably YOUR blog that I am stalking. I am just getting into this blog stuff and it is just really FUN to look at people's blogs - I could literally do it all day long! Oh and one blog just leads to another blog!!! And you girls are just really funny!!! I want to be BFFs with all of you!!!
Addiction #4: Monogramming anything that will stand still. I LOVE having that machine and I want EVERYTHING monogrammed. I am not exaggerating when I say that when my girls went to kamp this past summer - I spent 2 weeks monogramming EVERY article they took with them! Oh and they were cute!
Addiction #5: My Iphone - I cannot be away from it. I have it with me at ALL TIMES. I check my email CONSTANTLY! I probably look at it at least every 2 minutes. It's an obsession. It is really sick - this addiction.
What is really sad is that I have NO one to tag! The only people I know well enough to tag have already been tagged. None of my close friends have blogs and think I am crazy for having one - and I am! But it is great! So - if you are reading this and you have a blog and haven't been tagged ----- then TAG - YOU ARE IT!

Happy Birthday Blaze
Happy Birthday Blaze! This guy has been one of Brooks' closest friends since the day he was born - 11 years ago. Brooks and Blaze are getting to play baseball together this year - it's the first time for them to get to play together since they were in 1st grade. Brooks is loving it! So this was taken after their game on Saturday.
The Ranch
We just got back from the Cheatham Ranch and boy was it fun! Actually - I have to say that I REALLY just needed something to blog about now that I have this handy dandy new blog and the kids just happened to be out of school on Monday -so it was the perfect opportunity! We did all the traditional things that we do there including riding 4-wheelers, checking out the longhorns, and roasting marshmellows. The guys did a little dove hunting, although the miserable overtime of the the Cowboy game kind of cut into their hunting time. :( The kids just absolutely love it there! The cousins even got to come - although we sure did miss Drew and Sam!
Okay - so I know that I have A LOT of pics - hopefully soon I will learn how to just make a slideshow!

Halloween is coming
Finally! Something to blog! I've been looking for something to blog about for the last 3 days!!! I caught my girls sneaking these hats onto each other's heads. Halle Caroline and Ellison LOVE to remind me that when they were 4 and 2 years old, I MADE them be witches!!! Well - in my defense - if you can center a Halloween costume around something monogrammed - you HAVE to do it!!!! These precious witch hats were from Pottery Barn Kids and I made the cutest black tulle skirts to match. Absolutely ADORABLE!!! But now I just get to decorate with those cute monogrammed hats...
