multiple threads entwined

though top two are remotely interconnected but this post would have multiple threads...

~~~
the magic of adaptability is such that you get as comfortable in your current habitat as you were in your last pretty soon.
the biggest flip of living with folks is that your probably can't make out on the couch as often as you would like with your girl. you probably will need to restraint her from hollering when in ecstasy and you would need to stop from making your point while in an argument with her, just because you don't want your family to be ruffled. the easy way out for us kids which is more imposed than chosen in our part of the world is to move out under the wrap of work and then we don't want to come back
~~~

i don't really love travel for work that comes with anxiety. and the impending travel is exactly that. still waiting for the visa. although this means that i won't be waiting for the connecting flight in dubai for 2+4 hours as i would rather take a direct flight than worry about accumulating flying miles.

living in middle east would be a little hard for me, and lack of winters in delhi this season have reinforced that assumption a lot. i guess i should be happy that my visits to any of these counties don't ever exceed a week.

~~~
i have been searching for some good pictures to put up on my right side bar, of a curvy body. i have been talking about my love for the plump. for those who are are getting gross ideas, please go check this out. somehow i am not able to find the other posts that i have written on this topic. and if anyone can suggest me any good wallpapers to put on my sidebar, it would be great. thanks in advance.
come on, ask!
it's amazing how seniors have answers to all your questions. there is this sweet little child of our tenants who is near two and half years old and have an array of questions, answering which swells the bottoms of your pride thinking how much you know, when the answers range from "this flower's name is rose", "this is called thumb, not finger", "this is called pillow" and "no baby, you have not worn the slippers correctly".
thus, the moment you start getting irritated thinking that don't bloody get enough time for your intellectual though processes answering the kid's questions, you wonder why mom hasn't asked to you go buy milk supplies for last two days. you go to your mom and ask, "amma, what happens if you don't milk the buffalo for couple of days". and she replies to your satisfaction and horror that buffalo might develop lumps which are pretty painful if the buffalo is neither milked nor her calf is let near her [which most of the milkmen otherwise do].
you wander away and wonder, who's asking the better questions.
~~
it's kind of ironical that this post will be published near end of eve of my b'day
growing up
no matter how many invisible streaks of grey you get on your head, no matter how many intellectually stimulating discourses you have with journalist cum blogger friends of yours, no matter how many dark plays you go and see and critically appreciate even when they seem nonsensical, no matter in front of how many framed paintings you silently but visibly nod your head, you still come back home and ask your mom why is tea in cup at the left lighter in colour than that in the cup on the right.
different eyes
in a party sanjay gave his seat to a girl, but he didn't know that a lot of eyes were on him
[teenage] shilpa - what gallantry! i wish i was sitting there
[nympho] mala - how sexy, i wonder why wouldn't i ask him to take me after that
[feminist] jaya - the asshole thinks the girl can't stand
[suspecting] ruchi - i am sure he just want to look down poor girl's cleavage
[mcp basher] priya - good for him, what was he thinking of himself, he couldn't have had the seat for long anyways
[maternal] sangita - i wish i had such a considerate kid for my little girl
an amazing beauty
om was describing estimating the psychology of a girl with the looks of hers. i was trying to disagree although all of it was being done more or less in jest when God probably smiled a quirky smile.
she was wearing a fawn coloured blouse and coke coloured probably british caudroy trousers and a pair of kohlapuris which were flowing with her clothes the same way her skin, which was in the lightest degree of all that brown. the most beautiful contrast was being provided by the huge amount of kohl that was busy arresting all the beauty of her eyes.
and i found her the most beautiful girl on the face of earth simply because she seemed rather genuinely engrossed sampling the book, she was holding, if it would be a good read.
this happened a couple of hours back in om book shop, at great india place, noida
a little story from mahabharata
a little part from mahabharata, that probably everyone of us have heard from our grandparents at some point of time goes:
when on a day suyodhan (duryodhan) pestered bhishm pitamah to no end that he should kill the pandavas, which pitamah was avoiding, he vowed, that he would kill them the day after. Krishna on hearing this, devised a plan. He took draupadi, asked her to take off her khadhaav and hid them beneath his arms. the result - pitamah wished her "chir saubhagya vati bhava". and then she asks him, if you have vowed to kill my pandavas, how can your ashirwad be true...?
second thing that Krishna did, he gave arjun the mukut of suyodhan and asked him to enter pitamah's tent and steal his bow and arrows that he had reserved to kill the pandavas.
thus, mahabharata is as much about Krishna [his leela], philisophy, tact, diplomacy, social rules for humans, as about an epic battle where apparently evil was defeated on the hands of good.
the recoiling robots
i don't understand females who react in some very peculiar ways. one example which is common to a lot of [small town] females is, you are walking down an aisle in the opposite directions and suddenly the female shies herself behind any available natural obstruction just before the moment you are to pass them. to me it is almost offensive. and this happens even in places like your office where the comfort level is at its best. i wonder why?
the change of preferences or hypocrisy?
i was missing something and started feeling nostalgic. i don't know how i came to this disjointed thought process but then i started thinking if we boys are not honest about what we like; if there really is a difference between what we like at some point of time and if our preferences change when it is a question of life.
for example, malik, a closest colleague of mine is a friend as well. he got married around six months ago. he liked petite females and was always jeering of my preferences that bordered on affinity for plumpness. but he ended up marrying a girl who is exactly opposite to the figure he liked. i am sure her personal qualities must have been much higher when he asked her to be his life partner. but my question is, does that mean that we guys are frivolous about our physical preferences. is my growing affinity for petite females a witness to this?
why do kids do?
i wonder why do kids get into stupid thing called love and hassles that come attached with it. especially when they have parents who do not support their decision. i don't say that i have not let myself slid into these issues, but probably i didn't have the heart to fight the world.
but somehow i am not able to win this debate in my heart. no one dies tomorrow for those who say live for today. but condition on any tomorrow is open to anyone's speculation.
the thunderbolt
it happens that when there is something to happen which is going to affect you, you are prepared by the subconscious for it. this early morning the sound of falling rain has brought me from slumber to trance when i heard a huge rumble in the clouds. i like the sound of the thunder. so much so that when nature is especially angry, i go sit in the balcony to savour that beautiful sound of the trembling rage. but today i was sleeping. and suddenly the thunder continued for couple of seconds more and bolted upon something with such a wondrous thud that it shattered my sleep in the same instant. it made me uncomfortable, for the first time. mom was awake. she said, "kahin giri hai". i was surprised to find myself not at ease. i imagined the spot where it would have fallen, probably not very far away from home.
later while at breakfast mom told me a story of her childhood when it used to rain with much greater fervour. she told me how once the lightning reached for dung cakes inside their storeroom in their town home. how it came inside through the door, reached for those dung-cakes, struck them and escaped puncturing the roof, traveling almost in an inverted arc. the lightning was trying to reach something and attempted multiple times before finally striking. they later found out that it was a big black snake. incredible story that gives you goosebumps if you try to believe it.
dezire has a big ass
it is very funny to watch yourself feverishly fidget when you are unable to get something that is an object of your desire. but as much as it is irritating, it is pleasurable to see yourself being able to keep yourself at the tantalizing distance on the edge of yearn.
another down the train
another friend on mine seems to be going the marriage way. the path is a double flavored one - arranged cum love. and both their treading have been the same. sometimes you meet people for whom you are dumb, sometimes you meet dumb people and sometimes none are able to admit that the other is dumb. when this happens at a relatively senior unmarried age in indian context - it gets harmful. you getting kicked in the arse and still run back, pant at the slightest purr. and finally, the feline willing, decide to say the vows. nothing wrong, i say, if you get the honest fondle.
getting your skin to help solve maths
i was wondering about the hypothesis that you can solve mathematical problems most efficiently when you are in buff and feeling good about yourself. humans, when they imagine about a situation or a philosophical instance, they make themselves the center of that hypothetical universe and imagine stuff around themselves. similarly, there is a time of the day when they feel good about themselves. and it is more often than not in front of their reflection. probably because mirrors provide the concentrated view of the universe. so when you are looking at mirror and feeling good [it could be after potty while brushing teeth :D, or while getting ready for office, or before going for a bath, or before preparing for sleep], the pressure in the nerve cells of the brain ease, the blood circulation gets better and the ability to solve analytical problems increases.
so when do you feel are most efficient at solving maths problems? :D
a story in one of the most bizarre forests
though i am not well-read but i can imagine that it would again be my real short-sightedness if i were to declare that i should shed all my inhibitions regarding the indian writings in english. but after completing my first reading by amitav ghosh which is also his latest one, i am able to bring myself to the realisation that every work of art should be judged, if at all, on its merit and not on its reputation or worse still pre-conceived notions.
the hungry tide, i should say is a treat to read. not just because of the quality of english that it brings forward but because of the way ghosh intertwines human minds and their workings while attuned to their surroundings. i picked up this book because i was expecting a travelogue but liked it more because it touched two topics closest to my heart - wild animals [tigers and dolphins at that] and relationships between two human beings.
i have been looking for words but i have being fumbling. i won't write anything about the plot, or the love that amitav have such surreally weaved in the fabric of the story because first, i can't do justice to its grandeur and two, i have so many questions that could disturb me.
although somewhere in the mid of the first quarter of the book, i remember, turning to the last page to look at its number [which in hinder sight reflects my disinterest], it came as a mild surprise to me when i completed it in just couple of days.
a thought about the wonder called pyramid
bewilderment is the product of intoxication of focus due to difference of opinion in your perception at the given time and the inevitable reality.
the pyramids have a different stature from different view points. they would not seem to be as humongous as you would expect them to be from not far but then you won't be able to realize how far you are. but they would become so huge when you get close that you would not be able to consume all their grandeur. and that is what happens when you try to shoot them. no angle would seem to do justice to them because they would not imbibe in any shot. not imbibe not in a way that they won't appear in one negative but you would not be able to project a grand image of them.
a true man-made copy of a piece of himalayas...
for pictorial explanation please have a look at the last picture post.
when nudge comes to shove
with my eyes closed i wasn't sure of the crowd that was building around me. i wasn't really afraid but there was a doubt that was creeping into my mind. i knew my only chance would be to not let go off the grip of the rail that i had clung to for 2 hours or be shoved off the line for the prasad.
and all these wicked auntijis are experts at it, either they will sneer at you, or they will cajole you with sweet words or they will get physical knowing very well that the hardest of hardened criminals would give way to their shoulder nudges that lead to your giving away your spot to the back of the crowd.
don't stop talking
i was writing a comment on >chakoli's< blog regarding advent of internet and telephones and their impact on the way we communicate which inturn goes a long way in impressing on our personalities.
the problem with either telephonic or internet based communication is that we only communicate via one sense - voice. other senses [expression, touch, mannerism] which are as important, if not more, are missing from the 'communication'. thus it is very hard to convey to a person on the phone or chat or through blog comments if you were being funny and not at all sexist or offensive.
plus it is very hard when people are touchy and defensive [like i am]. if something has hit your sensitivity then i guess you should not get defensive by refraining from communicating your concern, but try to communicate about it and get it resolved.
do you derive pleasure?
first, an important self-question:-
i wonder if all the girls have been exported to mumbai? where the hell are the delhi girls???
now, the post:-
we all have fallen in love and we all have hit a really sickeningly rough patch while we were still fallen and we all have risen thereafter. everyone is unhappy to the core, that is what we all know, but what i want to know is that is there anyone who derives pleasure while it is coming on too hard? i mean, do people remain in that state because there is a sense of satisfaction in feeling good about feeling bad?
rules
going by the rule that your currently favorite song[s] are those that reflect your current state of mind [which probably is the derivation of your current or latest state of being/affairs], my two favorites in [from] the last year have been [although none of them probably reflect "my" state of mind]:-
aaoge jab tum from jab we met
o meri jaan from metro
[have anyone of you heard them?]
i sometimes wonder, if you really have to go through what to have to write or if after some time you just get a hang of writing. if it is about getting the hang of it then it is murder by mechanics.
after some crap above...
first rule to get laid is:-
work on your pectorals [because you probably can't help the height part or abs :P]
second rule to get laid is:-
work on that mind and tounge stutter that you go through before thinking about talking to that babe
third rule to get laid is:-
consider back up tape drive as more important than your camera [if this doesn't make sense, additional rule for you is to work on your mental levels {if this rule doesn't make sense or irritates you, better wank}]
